5 INSTALLATION GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS This appliance Is designed for storage of foods and storage of frozen foods and making Ice. The refrigerators outlined hereon have been design certified under ANS Z 21.19b 1989 refrigerators by the American Gas Association for Installation in a mobile home or recreational vehicle and are approved by the Canadian Gas Association. The certifications are, however, contingent on the Installation being made In accordance with the following Instructions as applicable. The Installation must In the USA conform with: 1. National Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standard, Title 24 CFR, Part Recreational Vehicles ANSl/INFPA No. 501C-1987 The unit must be electrically grounded In accordance with the National Electric Code ANSl/NFPA No when installed If an external alternating current electrical source Is utlllzed. 4. Any applicable local code The Installation must In Canada conform with: 1. Current CGA B 149 Gas Installation Codes 2. Current CSA Standard Z GAS-EQUIPPED RECRE ATIONAL VEHICLES AND MOBILE HOUSING 3. Any appllcable local code The unit must be electrically grounded in accordance with the current CANADIAN ELECTRICAL CODEC 22 Parts 1 and 2. VENTILATION The Installation shall be made in such a manner as to separ ate the combustion system from the living space of the mobile home or recreational vehicle. Openings for air supply or for venting of combustion products shall have a minimum dimension of not less than 1 /4 Inch. Proper Installation requires one lower fresh air Intake and one upper exhaust vent. The ventilation kits shown in this Instruction booklet have been cert If led for use with the refrigerator models llsted in the table. Certified vent system kits, see spare parts llst. The ventilation kits must be Installed and used without mod If icatlon. An opening towards the outside at floor level In the refrigerator compartment must be provided fo'r ventilation of heavier-than-air fuel gases. The lower vent of the recommended kits Is provided with proper size openings. When not installed on a wheelhouse, addl tlonal openings must be provided on the lowest level of the refrigerator compartment. The openings should be as big as they are on the lower vent. The flow of combustion and ventilating air must not be obstructed. For ready serviceability of the burner and control manifold parts of the ref rlgerator the. lower side vent ls f ltted with a llftout panel which provides an adequate access opening. The compressor Is ventilated towards the living space. CAUTION I The front grlll must be free from all obstructions. Any Interference with free air flow through the grlll wlll cause faulty operation. GAS CONNECTION Hook-up to the gas supply line Is accomplished at the manual gas valve, which is furnished with a 3/8" SAE (UNF 5/8" 18) male flare connection. All completed connections should be checked for leaks with soapy water. The gas supply system must Incorporate a pressure regulator to maintain a supply pressure of not more than 11 Inches water gauge. When testing the gas supply system at test pressures In excess of 1/2 pslg the refrigerator and Its lndlvldual shutoff valve must be disconnected from the gas supply piping system. When testing the gas supply system at pressures less or equal 1/2 pslg the appliance must be Isolated from the gas supply piping system by closing Its lndlvldual manual shutoff valve. In case detailed Instructions on the Installation and connection to the gas supply are required, contact your dealer or distributor. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION 120VAC The refrigerator Is equipped with a three prong (grounded) plug for protection against shock hazards and should be plugged directly into a properly grounded three prong receptacle. Do not cut or remove the grounding prong from this plug. The cord should be routed to avoid coming In contact with the burner cover, flue cover or other hot components. 12V DC CONNECTION The connection is to be made to a terminal block 15, see fig. 3. The refrigerator must be connected to the battery circuit with two wires of adequate capacity to avoid voltage drop. The wire gauge should be chosen with consideration to the wire length In accordance with table below. The 12V circuit must be fused. Maximum circuit fuse size: 25 amps. Do not use the body or chassis of the vehicle as a substitute for either of the two conductors. No other electrical equipment or lighting should be connected to the refrigerator circuit. 6 Caution It Is necessary with a battery In the 12 volt circuit. The operation of the 12 volt control system can be disturbed If It Is powered by a converter only. A connection has to be made between the Ignition system of the engine and the block marked IGN LOCK on the back of the fridge, see fig. 3. Examples of circuit diagrams are shown In figs. 6 and 7. Run a 1/4" water line through the hole on either side of the base to the water valve In the front part of the compressor compartment. The water supply line shall be equipped with a water valve, which should be made easily accessible. Note: The wall entrance of the water supply line must be sealed by adding sealing compound around the tube. SPECIAL HINTS Note: Do not Install the appliance directly on carpeting. Carpeting must be protected by a metal or wood panel beneath the appliance which extends at least full width and depth of the appliance. The refrigerator must be Installed In a substantial enclosure and must be level. Level the refrigerator both ways front to back and side to side. When Installing the refrigerator In the enclosure, care should be taken to ensure a complete sealing between the front frame of the refrigerator and the top, sides and bottom of the enclosure. For this purpose a length of sealing strip Is applied to rear surf aces of the front frame. A sealing strip should also be applied to the floor of the enclosure as shown in fig. 8. Both the rear and the sides of the base must be sealed. The sealing should provide a complete Isolation of the appliance combustion system from the vehicle interior. The volume behind the base, between the base and the RV wall, must be ventilated to the open air by providing openings In the wall on the lowest level of the refrigerator compartment. The openings shall have a minimum dimension of not less than 1/4 inch. Compare the openings on the lower vent. Be careful not to damage the sea II ng strip applied to the floor of the enclosure when the refrigerator is put In place. In the front frame and In the base at the rear of the refrigerator there are holes for screws for fixing the refrigerator In the enclosure. See fig. 9. Any space between counter or storage area and the top of the refrigerator greater than 1 1/2" should be blocked. The heat produced at the rear of the refrigerator will otherwise become trapped In this space making the top of the refrigerator hot and reducing the efficiency of the refrigerator. 6

7 It Is also recommended to Insulate, if installed on a wheel house, between the wheelhouse and the rear of the base, or if installed In an ordinary enclosure, the rear wall of the base. The insulation should be made in the same manner as the RV wall _o --:-e -o Fig. 9 TEST OF THE GAS SAFETY SHUTOFF The gas safety shutoff device must be tested after the refrigerator is placed in operation. Sealing strips Fig Start the refrigerator according to the Instructions without connecting to 120Vor 12V D.C. power (to lgn. lock). 2. Check that the gas flame Is lit. The green push button lamp should now be lit. 3. Close the manual gas valve on the back of the refrigerator, item 5 in fig Wait 4 minutes, the orange lamp should now be lit and the green lamp (see 2. above) goes out, and the flame extinguished. 5. Open the manual valve without turning the main switch. Test that no gas comes through the jet, Item 48 in fig. 1, using soapy water, rinse afterwards with fresh water. 6. Make an off on operation with the main switch. Normal gas operation should now return, operate for at least 5 minutes. TO CHANGE THE DOOR OPENING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT OR VICE VERSA (SEE FIG.) Open the top door and unscrew the two screws holding the top decoration. The screws are accessible from beneath. Remove the top hinge pin and Ifft out the door. Remove the center hinge pin and Ifft out the lower door. Unscrew the bottom hinge pin and move It to the opposite side of the base. Replace the doors and Install the hinge pins that were removed previously. Remove the cover plate on the handles. Unscrew the handles and the two clamps, and move It to the holes at the opposite side of the door/cabinet, respectively. Replace the handles, the clamps, and snap on the cover plate. Check that the travel latch works properly. Before the top decoration Is refitted, check that the door closes easily and that the gasket seals well on all sides. 7

8 TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE REFRIGERATOR Before working on the refrigerator make sure that 120V A.C. and 12V D.C. leads are disconnected. Shut the gas valve. Unscrew the hexagon nut and gas shut-off valve, see fig. 1 pos. 6. Let the gas valve remain on the gas supply line. Loosen the screws fixing the refrigerator to the enclosure and remove the refrigerator. See f lg. 9. When replacing the refrigerator make sure that the sealing strips are properly positioned. After reassembly, the gas connection should be checked for leaks with soapy water. CERTIFIED INSTALLATION Certified Installations require one roof vent and one lower side vent. Certified vent system kits, see spare parts list. For further Information contact your dealer or distributor. 190 Mounting without wheelhouse METHODS OF INSTALLATION The methods of installation are shown In figure 10. It Is essential that all maximum or minimum dimensions are strictly maintained as the performance of the refrigerator is dependent on an adequate flow of air over the rear of the refrigerator. 10 INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE HOW TO START THE REFRIGERATOR Leveling In the boiler, ammonia vapor Is dlstllled from an ammoniawater mixture and carried to the finned condenser, where It llqulfles. The llquld flows to the evaporator, where It creates cold by evaporating Into a circulating flow of hydrogen gas. If the evaporator or coll Is not level the liquid readily accumulates, forming pockets which can Impair the gas circulation or even block It, In which case, of course, the cooling wlll stop. When the recreational vehicle Is stationary It must be leveled to be comfortable to live In. If the refrigerator Is properly Installed, i.e. the freezer shelf parallel to the floor, the refrigerator wlll then also perform well. A bubble level should be placed on the freezer shelf. When the vehicle is moving, the continuous rolling and pitching movement will not affect the refrigerator as long as the movement passes either side of level., but when the RV Is temporarily parked this sensitivity of the refrigerator should be remem bared. So, once more, before you start the refrigerator make sure It Is level. Operation (Fig. 5) Before starting the refrigerator check the gas valve In the piping. Do not forget the valve on the rear of the refrigerator, (6) Fig To start the refrigerator set the switch 7 to position ON. Lamp AES shall now be green. 2. Turn the thermostat knob Inside the cabinet to suitable setting, I.e. start with normal position. 3. To shut off the refrigerator set the switch 7 to position OFF. Information on the operation of the refrigerator General This refrigerator is equipped with an Automatic Energy Selector (AES) system. The control system selects the most suitable available energy source. The selection wlll be made with highest priority to 120V AC, second priority to 12V DC from the alternator, lowest priority Is gas operation. No manual operation is necessary for change of energy source unless desired. The automatic energy control will, when switched on, start up In AES mode. The AES mode follows the above mentioned priority list and will select the best energy source available. Mode Indication and gas start up fallure. However the AES system also provides the posslblllty to be operated with reduced freedom of choice. If the 120V/gas mode button Is pressed, the AES system will only select between 120V and gas operation with 120 volts as first priority list above. Gas mode only can be selected by pressing the gas switch (pos. 9 fig. 5). The AES system will then operate on gas regardless If 120V or 12V alternator power Is present. If the fridge does not succeed In lighting up the gas (regardless In which mode selected) the lamp wlll be llt. If gas Is the only available energy and Ignition falls, the orange lamp 00 will light Indicating the LPG bottle Is empty, and the green mode selector button will be shut off. If either 120V or 12V alternator power became available to the refrigerator the selected mode push button will be turned on to Indicate that the refrigerator Is running on either 120V or 12V alternator power but has failed to start on gas operation. Further Information is given below under the head orange llght. Operating information: The AES system Is equipped with an information panel. When the push-button marked[!] Is pressed, the AES system will show which energy source the refrigerator Is operating on. The four different indications are 12ovOO, 12v DC~, clock~ and gasm. The 00 show that the fridge is operating on 120V. The~ shows that the fridge Is operating on 12V alternator power. The clock Indicates that the AES system is in a delay position, (this indicates that the fridge will not select gas for operation). The delay will be activated If 12V alternator power has been available but no longer Is, and 120V Is not connected. Further information is given below under head delay for gas start up. TheU]shows that the fridge is operating on gas. Low voltage on 12V DC control system The AES system always requires 12V DC to be able to operate on any energy mode. If however the voltage drops below 9.5 volts, the AES system will operate as follows. Regardless if the refrigerator is operating on 120V AC or gas, the AES system will select gas continuous operation independent of the thermostat. During the low voltage (9.5V DC) condition the thermostat is not connected to the system. To indicate that the AES system Is in a low DC condition the selected mode indicator will be turned off. As soon as the 12V DC system Is recharged, the AES system will go back to normal operation. The Interior light is unaffected during the whole procedure. 12V Heater operation. The AES system has a built in battery protection system. The battery protection system senses the incoming voltage at the terminal connector (fig. 3 part 15) on the fridge and works as follows. When current Is available on lgn. lock, the battery protection system is activated. Current to the 12 volt heater will be let through if the voltage at the positive terminal (fig. 3 part 15) is above 13.6 volts for at least 1 minute. The current will be shut down if the voltage is lower than 11.6 volts at the positive terminal. When the voltage is lower than 13.6 volts, the AES system will select gas operation. If the fridge is operating on gas because the battery voltage is below 13.6 volts and the lgn. key Is turned off, the system shuts down the gas flame and goes Into the delay mode. If the fridge is not hooked up to mains, 120 volt will automatically be selected. When the delay time Is completed, the gas flame will be lit up. Whenever ign. key Is turned on again the whole procedure Is repeated. For Instance, If delay time Is not completed, It will start from scratch when lgn. key Is turned off. There Is no by-pass flame on these refrigerators The control system shuts off the gas when the refrigerator has correct temperatures. The gas flame will be lit by the control system when the temperature Increases above the preset one. 10

11 I~ I Delay for gas start up In order to avoid a gas-flame at gasoline stations the refrlg erator is programmed to delay gas start up for about 30 minutes after 12V operation. Please observe that this delay occurs even after only 1 minute of 12V operation from your engine in order to cover events when you have to wait In line for a gasoline pump. If you want a quick gas start up after 12V operation you can switch OFF the refrigerator for a few seconds and then switch back to ON. l:&:i Orange llght If the lamp ~ begins to lite, the ref rlgerator control system has tried to lite the gas flame but It did not succeed In doing so. We recommend the following operations: 1. Set the switch 7 to position OFF and back to ON again. The!aa! lamp AES shall not be green and the control system does a new start attempt. If the refrigerator has not been In operation for a while or you have just refilled gas, this operation may have to be repeated several times. Each start attempt will last for up to three minutes. If the starting Is not successful the lamp ~ will turn on again. 2. If operation 1 ls not successful, check your gas supply. 3. If you have gas, make sure that all valves In the gas pipe are opened. 4. If none of these operations are successful, contact a service center. Note: The first start is always a problem. To empty the gas pipe from the gas vessel up to the refrigerator may take several minutes i.e. 3-4 operations as to step 1 above. Electric operation and selection of electric operation Is not blocked during ~ light. Gas operation can only start after an OFF-ON operation. The orange ~ light Indicates faulty gas operation. The selected mode push-button will be turned off if no energy source is available. If either 120V or 12V alternator power Is available that mode indicator button will be lit simultaneously to the orange ~ light to indicate that the fridge is operating on another energy source and gas operation Is no longer possible. If you want to shut down the orange lij light, please make an OFF-ON switch. The orange warning light then goes out but would be lit again if gas is chosen without the gas bottle having been replaced. HOW TO USE THE REFRIGERATOR Food Storage Compartment The food storage compartment Is completely closed and unventilated, which Is necessary to maintain the required low temperature for food storage. Consequently foods having a strong odor or liable to absord odors should be covered. Vegetables, salads, etc. should be covered to retain their crispness. The coldest positions In the refrigerator are underneath the cooling evaporator and at the bottom of the refrigerator, and the least cold positions are on the upper door shelves. This should be considered when different types of food are placed In the refrigerator. The bottle retainer In the lowest door compartment Is divided In two removable parts, see figure below. CAUTION Li Do not store explosive substances In the refrigerator, such as cigarette lighter gas, petrol, ether or the like. Defrosting Shut off the refrigerator and the compressor. Empty the refrigerator leaving the cabinet and freezer doors open. If desired, defrosting may be speeded up by filling the Ice tray with hot water and placing It In the freezer. It might be necessary to empty the drip tray one or two times during the defrosting period. The drip tray ls placed on the rear side of the refrigerator. When all frost Is melted, empty the drip tray and dry the Interior of the refrigerator with a clean cloth. Replace the drip tray and Ice tray, replace all food stuffs and set the thermostat to MAX for a few hours. Then reset the thermostat knob to Its normal position. 11

12 Frozen Food Storage Compartment The lee trays should ~e placed In direct contact with the freezer shelf for fastest Ice making. Quick frozen soft fruits and lee cream should be placed In the coldest part of the com partment which ls at the bottom of the aluminum liner or, In models with a shelf, on this or just below It. Frozen vegetables on the other hand, may be stored In any part of the compartment. The compartment Is not designed for the deep or quick freezing of food stuffs. Meat or fish foods, whether raw or prepared, and provided they are precooled In the refrigerator, can however, also be stored In the frozen food storage compartment. They can then be stored about three times as long as in the fresh food storage compartment. To prevent drying out, keep food In covered dishes, In plastic bags, or wrapped In aluminum foll. How to use the Ice-making machine. The refrigerator has to be connected to main supply (120V A.C. 6Q Hz). Open the manual water valve In the water supply line. The detecting arm shall be In start position, see (a) fig. 15. Switch on the ice-making machine with the switch f lg. 5. Water will now be filled In the Ice cube cavities. After the cubes have been frozen, they will be pushed out of the Ice-making ma chine Into the ice box beneath (fig. 14). The first cubes may be small because of air In the line, subsequent cubes will be of standard size. NOTICE! When the Ice box Is f llled up, the detecting arm will be prohibited from going back to It's starting position and the Ice making will be Interrupted, see (b) fig. 15. Before the Ice making can continue, the lee cube box has to be emptied and the detecting arm guided to start position. The ice making can also be stopped by moving the detecting arm gently up to position (c) see fig. 15. Regulating the amount of water If the ice cubes stick together or are too small, regulate the amount of water as follows: Remove the protective cover, see fig. 16. Rotate the screw (b) not more than one turn at a time. Run the Ice-maker for a while before carrying out any further adjustment, (If necessary). Flt the protective cover back In place. SPECIAL FUNCTIONS If you want to use the Ice-maker compressor for pre-loading frozen food without starting the absorption part of the refrlger ator, start the compressor as described under "How to use the Ice-maker". Then Inhibit the Ice making function by raising the arm to position (c) see fig. 15. When the freezer compartment temperature has dropped sufficiently, the already frozen food can be placed Inside It. Quick cool By starting the absorption cabinet and the ice-maker at the same time, the temperature of the entire refrigerator can be lowered more rapidly. When a 120V A.C. supply Is no longer available, I.e. while traveling, the Ice cubes produced by the Ice-maker can be kept frozen In the absorption refrigerator. It Is also possible to freeze Ice without access to a 120V A.C. supply by using the absorption refrigerator as described below. lee cubes can be made In the Ice trays which should be filled with water to within 1/4" (5 mm) from the top. To release the Ice cubes seize the tray with both hands and twist the tray. Cubes not required should preferably be replaced In the tray. Refill the tray with water and replace the tray on the freezer shelf. Ice making Is accelerated If the thermostat knob is turned to setting "MAX". It Is a good Idea to do this a few hours before an anticipated need for Ice but be sure to turn the knob back to normal setting when the Ice Is formed or the foodstuffs in the cabinet may become frozen hard. Preventing water from splashing down Into the lea tray while on the move. The easiest way to do this Is to turn off the Ice-maker by raising the arm to the stop position (see fig. 15) about 1 1/2 hours before your estimated departure time. General advice Turn off the water by means of the shut-off valve if the refrigerator Is to remain unused for a longer period of time. TECHNICAL DATA Recommended water pressure Ice-making capacity: pslg 4 lb. per 24 hours To shut off the lea-making machine To shut off the Ice-making machine, set the switch (fig. 5) to off position. If you also want to shut off the refrigerator, push the switch 7 to off position. If the refrigerator Is not In opera tlon over a period of weeks, It should be emptied and cleaned and the door left ajar. The Ice-making machine should be dried to avoid getting putrled water In the Ice cube cavities. The ice trays should also be dried and preferably kept outside the cabinet. 12

14 NOTE If the RV is left unheated during the winter or put in storage, the water In the hose leading up to the ice-maker, as well as that present in the water valve, must be drained. See "Periodic maintenance of the ice-maker". To Shut off the Refrigerator (Fig. 5) To shut off the refrigerator turn the knob 7 to OFF position. If the cabinet Is not In operation over a period of weeks, It should be emptied and cleaned and the door left ajar. Use the travel latch to lock the door in that position (see fig.). The Ice trays should also be dried and kept outside the cabinet. The Thermostat knob (Inside the cabinet) The refrigerator is equipped with a thermostat which is regulated by turning the knob to different settings in order to obtain the desired controlled cabinet temperature. By choosing a setting from Min. to Max. various controlled temperatures can be obtained, the closer to Max., the lower the temperature. As soon as the required cold temperature inside the cabinet is reached, the thermostat cuts the burner. At Max., the burner is running continuously at full gas rate. Lowest cabinet and freezer temperatures are obtained at this setting. ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT Cartridge heater The refrigerator Is equipped also for electric operation. These models are equipped for both 120 volts AC and 12 volts DC operation. There Is an electric cartridge heater mounted in a pocket of the baller system. To replace the heater first, of course, check that the wall plug Is disconnected. Also make sure that the 12V leads are disconnected. Then proceed as follows: Handle with travel latch To activate the airing position of the hook, push the square button A forward at the same time as you fit the hook Into the clasp. To release the door from airing position, pull the handle, release, and the hook will return to rest position. Cleaning To clean the Interior lining of the refrigerator use lukewarm weak soda solution. The ice-making machine, the evaporator, Ice trays and shelves must, however, be cleaned with warm water only. Never use strong chemicals or abrasives to clean these parts or the protective surf ace will be damaged. It is important always to keep the refrigerator clean. GAS EQUIPMENT Flue Top and Baffle The flue baffle Is suspended from the top and must be In position In the central tube of the cooling unit. The Flame Failure Safety Device (Fig. 1 and 2) The feeler of the thermo-couple shall reach in over two slots of the burner. To replace the thermo-couple proceed as follows: 1. Unscrew plug 69 and retainer 20 and pull thermo-couple straight out. 2. Bend the new thermo-couple to the same shape as the old one. 3. Reassemble In reverse order. Check that feeler has been correctly refitted In relation to burner. See Fig Mount the retainer. The plug must be properly tightened to the valve housing to ensure good contact between the thermo-couple and the magnetic coil within the housing. 1. Loosen the screws and remove protection plate (32) fig Disconnect the heater leads. 3. With a pair of pliers unfold the lug holding the lid of the boiler casing and open the lid. 4. Remove some insulation wool so that the heater is accessible. 5. Turn and lift the heater out of its pocket. 6. Fit the new heater Into the pocket. 7. Connect the leads. 8. Reset the Insulation and close the lid of the boiler casing. 9. Mount the protection plate (32). PERIODIC MAINTENANCE Note: Before working on the refrigerator make sure that 120V A.C. and 12V D.C. leads are disconnected. Shut off gas valve. The Burner and the Burner Jet (Fig. 1) The color of the flame shall be clear blue over the slots of the burner (Fig. 2). Once or twice a year, depending on use, it is necessary to clean and adjust the burner assembly. Proceed as follows: 1. Loosen screw and remove cover plate for burner housing. 2. Disconnect lighter cable from the electrode. 3. Loosen burner fixing screw and withdraw burner. 4. Clean burner tube with a brush. Blow with compressed air. 5. Screw off jet and clean with alcohol. Blow with compressed air. Never use a needle or similar. 6. Reassemble. 7. Be careful that the end of the burner fits into the slot on the bracket. The slots of the burner must be centrally located under the boiler tube. 14

15 The Electrode For a proper Ignition function It Is necessary to keep the electrode Insulation dry and free from dirt. The gap between burner tube and electrode shall be max. 3/16" (5mm) and min. 118" (3mm). Ice-Maker Take away the water plastic grill covering the machine area. The gr Ill ls f lxed with two screws. Check that the water connections are tight and do not leak. Check that there is no water present In the Ice-maker when it is not In use. This can be done as follows: Close the water valve on the Inlet line and run the Ice-maker for a complete cycle to be sure that no water Is left in the ma chine. Turn off the ice-maker as described under "to shut off the ice-maker". Then put a small bowl under the little hose on the water drain valve. Drain the water hose by opening the manual drain valve behind the grill. It is sufficient to opening the valve only a few turns and the water will come out through the hose. Don't forget to close the valve before starting the ice-maker again. WARNING If the refrigerator is used Intermittently, It should be checked at least once a year. It is important to keep the appliance area clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline and other flammable vapors and liquids. Check the venting system. The flow of combus tion and ventilating air must not be obstructed. Check the flue baffle that it is clean and reasonably free from soot. Heavy soot formation indicates Improper functioning of the burner. Clean baffle and flue. Further, clean cooling unit and floor under refrigerator. The entire gas installation should be checked for leaks at intervals. Test all pipe connections with soapy water, not with an open flame. Check the energy selector system by connecting/disconnect Ing main voltage, start/stop the engine, etc. Compare and check that the system behaves as it is described on p. 10. If in doubt please contact a service center. NOTE: Any service of the gas controls, with exception for the above mentioned replacement, maintenance and cleaning operations must be performed by an authorized service center oniy. FAULT TRACING The refrigerator does not freeze satlsfactorlly Causes and remedies a) Jet orifice clogged. Unscrew jet and blow clear or wash In alcohol. Do not use wire or pin to clean orifice. b) Check the leveling of the refrigerator. c) Air circulation around cooling unit is restricted. Be sure that refrigerator is properly ventilated. d) The evaporator is heavily coated with frost. Defrost. e) Flue baffle not inserted Into the central tube of the cooling unit. f) The thermostat is Incorrectly used. See paragraph on thermostat. g) Burner head clogged. Clean. h) Burner damaged. Replace. See f lg. 1. I) Burner may be dislocated.. f'.telocate. j) Wrong gas pressure at the burner. Have pressure checked at burner and at gas bottle. Pressure at burner must not fall below 11" W.G. Should the ice-maker fall to work Check that the power supply for the refrigerator is switched on. Check that the water supply Is turned on. Check that the detecting arm Is in the lower position (fig. 15). Check that the ice has not jammed. ODOR FROM FUMES Causes and remedies a) The flame touches the side of the flue tube due to dislocation of the burner. Relocate. Burner dislocation may also cause smoke and discoloring of walls and ceiling. b) Burner damaged. Replace. c) The flue tube is dirty. Clean flue as follows: Cover burner and jet. Remove flue top and baffle. Clean baffle before putting back in place. All the above instructions are to be followed closely. The refrigerator is quality-guaranteed. 16 /' - ~ INSTRUCTIONS FOR MOUNTING THE DOOR PANEL The refrigerator Is normally delivered without door panel(s). Before starting the mounting work check that the panel dimensions are In compliance with those given in the table and read the Instructions through. When mounting the panel, proceed as follows. A. Remove the door decoration list (2) with Its two screws (1). The upper corners of the upper panel (2 door models) and the lower corners of the lower panel has to be cut according to the sketch. B. Insert one of the vertical edges of the panel into the groove of the door frame (3). C. Bend the panel gently so that the free side of the panel can be slipped Into the corresponding groove of the door frame (4). D. Push the panel downwards so that the lower horizontal edge of the panel Is f ltted Into the bottom groovt! (5). E. Between the upper edge of the panel and the door frame there is now a gap which should be covered by the decoration strip. F. Put the strip across the door so that the gap is covered and push it upwards (6). The tabs on the inside of the strip should flt in behind the flange of the door frame. Secure the decoration strip by means of the two screws (1).
