3 Why Use Our Alkaline Water Ioniser Water is the foundation of good health. The leading scientists, doctors and nutritionists tell us that the primary causes of all disease are down to just three things: Dehydration Not drinking enough water can lead to many illnesses. Tap Water - We all know that tap water has to be treated with a cocktail of chemicals to remove contaminants like Industrial waste, Prescription medication, Petro chemicals. Bottled Water - The big concern is the use of plastic, mostly made from polyvinyl chloride containing Bisphenol (a known BPA or Carcinogen). The environmental impact and cost. Well Water - Naturally filtered and be more alkaline, but can have an earthy taste and is prone to contamination from pesticides, waste solution and sewage. Regular testing is recommended and required to maintain its purity and could be expensive. 7 What is An Alkaline Water Ioniser The Alkaline Water Ioniser is a Three Stage Evolutionary Unit that integrates itself in to One Modern Solution. Stage One: Water filtration system that filters particles the size of 0.05 microns or more. During this stage of evolutions, the water is still in a state of acidity. During this process the filter will remove contaminants but will not restore the water in to it s original state. The water at this point is still densely clustered withers much as 80 clusters per drop. Stage Two: The 8 solid metal plates will defibrillate the water forcing the separation of alkaline water from its acidic counterpart and begin the evolution of reviving the water by bonding negative hydrogen ions at the molecular level with H2O molecules. During this stage of its evolutionary journey, the defibrillation process will first begin the process of breaking down the micro clustering of water molecules from 80 to a low as 2-6 micro clusters, making the water extremely hydrating and easily bondable with the human body on micro-cellular level. Stage Three: In this, its final evolution, the water system will restore the now living water to its original state that is either preindustrial age or where it is found to this day atop the Himalayan mountains. 10 Installation Guide There are 2 water hoses. Insert into the IN outlet at the back of the unit and the other end should be inserted into the top insert on the adaptor. Repeat the process for the OUT outlet for the bottom insert. Insure the hose is inserted through the bolt and hollow bolt prior to connecting. Insert the top hose to the OUT nozzle behind the unit and insert the bottom hose to the IN nozzle. There are different types of faucets / Taps, please ensure you have used the correct installation rings, separators, clips and adaptors before connecting to the water system. If in doubt, please contact our support team. 10

11 Control Panel Overview When the tap is turned on, water enters the Ioniser. The indicator light will illuminate and three beeps will be heard. The unit will light up and you may select 1 of 3 different levels of ph values. Violet indicates strong Alkalinity, whilst Blue is normal. When the Purified Water button is pressed, water enters the Ioniser and three beeps will be heard. There will be no Ionising of the water (background lights turn Green) the light turns off approximately 1 minute after water supply is turned off. The Ioniser automatically switches to alkaline mode. When the Acid Water button is pressed, water enters the Ioniser and a continuous beep is heard. (background lights turn Red) The Acidic light will light up and you may select different levels of ph values, the light turns off Approx 1 minute after water supply is turned off. The Ioniser automatically switches to alkaline mode. IMPORTANT: A beeping sound will be heard when the Ioniser is in Acidic Mode to remind you NOT to drink the water. Do not run water on one setting for more than 120 seconds, otherwise the machine will think you forgot the water on and the unit will lock up and alarm will sound until someone unplugs the unit from the wall. 11

13 Purified Water : PURIFIED WATER Produces water to take with medication or to give to young children Alkaline Level 1 : Produces around -380 to -500 ORP and a ph range between 8.0 and 9.0 Alkaline Level 2 : Produces around -550 to -700 orp and a ph range between Alkaline Level 3 : STRONG ALKALINE WATER Produces around -700 to -895 ORP and a ph range between 11 and 13.2 DO NOT DRINK All ranges are based on quality of the water source, whether or not you have a pre-filtration system and the strength of the flow rate when turning on the faucet/tap. In addition to these selections is the CLEANING feature. In addition to the autocleaning feature, this functionality will allow the user to clean the unit manually in cases where the user notices the ph or the ORP levels are not up to par to previous levels, prevent cross contamination or when changing water levels. If the user does not select this level, the unit will automatically self initiate cleaning when 60L of water has been used and then again when 90L of water has been used. Unit Settings Setting Filter Life The unit arrives with 2 filters pre-installed, however it is important to set the life of the filters in accordance with your water usage and source. 1. Press and hold the PURIFIED WATER for 5 seconds and then release the first of 2 filter icons will appear. 2. To increase filter life, press the ALKALINE WATER button and to decrease press the ACID WATER button until you reach the desired level. (If you have a pre-filter set filter-life to 12,000L otherwise select 8,000L. Once selected the desired filter life, press the ALKALINE WATER button once again and repeat the process for setting the second filter s life. 3. Press the PURIFIED WATER button once again and a lock symbol will flash on. Press the PURIFIED WATER button once again to lock the filter life settings. 13

14 Setting auto cleansing The unit is designed to auto-clean every 60L and again 90L, but depending on your water source you may wish to alter this. To do so: 1. Press and hold the ACID WATER button for 5 seconds and then release. 2. Press the ALKALINE WATER or PURIFIED WATER button to increase or decrease level. 3. Once level is selected press the ACID WATER button once again to lock this state. Setting the TDS (total dissolved solids) You can customise your TDS settings depending on the level of HARD or SOFT water from your water source. You will need TDS meter if you don t know the hardness level of your water. 1. Press and hold the ALKALINE WATER button for 5 seconds and then release. 2. Press the PURIFIED WATER or ACID WATER button to increase or decrease level. 3. Once level is selected press the ALKALINE WATER button once again to lock this state. Setting the time 1. Press and hold the ALKALINE WATER button for 5 seconds and then release. 2. The TDS number will show up. When it does, press and release the ALKALINE WATER button once again and the hour symbol will appear along with the clock face icon. 3. Press the PURIFIED WATER or ACID WATER button to increase or decrease the hours (the clock keeps military time). 4. When you have selected the desired hour setting, press the ALKALINE WATER button once and now the minutes will appear. 5. Press the PURIFIED WATER or ACID WATER button to increase or decrease the minutes. 6. When finished setting the correct time, press and release the ALKALINE WATER button once again. 14

15 Alarms This unit has one of the world s most sophisticated logic systems that will detect potential hazards to it. If the unit detects a possible threat, the touch screen will turn red and the touch pad will freeze and the unit will emit a loud beeping sound. This sound will continue until you turn the water off and unplug the unit. Possible events that will cause the unit to act this way include: 1. Running hot water into the unit. 2. Running water on the same setting for more than 3 minutes (unit will think you forgot to shut the water off). If filling jugs, either turn the water off and turn on again or change the water setting on the unit by pressing ALKALINE WATER button and then pressing it again to go back to the same ALKALINE level. There are other triggers. Simply unplug the unit from the power source, wait 10 seconds and plug the unit back into the power source. Quick start 1. Attach the adaptor to the faucet/tap. 2. Attach the one end of hose into the OUT nozzle and the other end to the TOP adaptor. 3. Attach the one end of second hose into the IN nozzle and if using a pre-filter attach other end into one end of pre-filter and from pre-filter attach to the BOTTOM of the nozzle. 4. Plug one end of the power cord into the unit the other plug into the wall. UK residents may need a universal adaptor. 5. Press on the power button and switch adapter on the faucet/tap to the up level to route water to unit. 6. Turn the faucet/tap on (BE SURE TO ONLY TURN ON THE COLD WATER FAUCET/TAP) 7. Press on the different water settings and be sure each setting is working. 8. Wait for Beeps to sound to indicate unit working and water type selection. 9. Dispense drinking or cleaning water pending your setting choice. 15

16 Safety Precautions and Warnings CAUTION: RISK OF FIRE AND ELECTRIC SHOCK * Place this product near a sink and always allow the water to drain into the sink. * Place acidic water outlet hose within the height of the unit. Make sure the end of the hose is placed less than 8 inches (20cm) from the bottom of this unit. * When moving the unit, please be sure not to drag by the power cord as this could cause electric shock. * Please be sure to keep the power cord dust free * Unplug the power cord during general maintenance, repair, inspection and while replacing parts. * Only use the unit with the correct voltage. * To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover, no user-serviceable parts side. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel. * Keep original packaging for future storage and unit transportation. * In case water leaks out of the unit (other than hoses) or unit is standing in a pool of water, first shut off the water supple, (make sure your hands are dry before unpluging the power cord) and then refer to this service manual to contact a qualified service engineer. (support@salustra.global) * In case of strange noises, burning odour or smoke, unplug the power cord immediately and refer servicing to qualified service personnel. * Replace filters every six months to optimise the purification performance of this unit even if the replacement light isn t turned on. * In the case where the unit isn t used over a long period of time, shut off the valve and unplug the power cord. * If the unit is not used for a few days, let the water run for 1-2 minutes before drinking functional water. * It is beneficial for the maintenance of the machine to run a strong acidic level for a period of 5 minute cycles twice weekly. * Store unit in its original packaging in a cool, dry place when not in use. * In case the original packaging is not available, cover the unit in plastic to avoid scratching the surface. * Do not poke or scratch the touch pad or LCD display with sharp objects. 16

17 * Do not use alkaline or acidic water in fish bowls or aquariums. The sudden change in ph could be harmful or fatal to some marine life. * This will help to maintain a clean chamber. it is normal for condensation to be present on the unit during humid summer months. If condensation persists despite weather conditions, unplug the power cord and refer servicing to qualified service personnel. Remove the filters and turn them upside down to remove excess water before storing. * Do not store unit near chemicals, food, metals or medication. * In the event that water gets into the power supply, unplug the power cord and completely dry power outlet. * Do not reconnect or splice a defective power cord as it may result in an electric shock or become a fire hazard. * Do not plug and unplug power cord repeatedly. * Do not use if the power cord is damaged or in a loose power outlet. * Do not pull the power cord. Never touch power cord or power outlet with wet hands. * Do not use power surge protectors with this unit. Use the Ionising unit with its own dedicated power source. * Do not forcibly bend, split the outer casing, squeeze, damage or crush the power cord under heavy objects. * Do not spray water on the main unit. * Do not clean with benzene or other chemicals, which may leak into the unit. * Do not place this unit near heat sources. * Do not connect water line to a hot water supply. * Do not use unfit raw / sewage water in accordance to the standards of the water service act. * Do not use in areas of high humidity and/or high temperature. * Do not place this unit on an uneven surface. Do not drop or use excessive force on this unit. * Do not place ANY objects on top of this unit regardless of how small. Carefully remove this unit from the packaging. 17

FAQ Q: How do I set up the pre-filter unit? A: The pre-filter is installed in the supply line on the ioniser. Quick connects are provided for your convenience. Simply push the tubing in the connector and it seals automatically. When installing the filter for the first time, it is suggested to let the filter fill with water for a few minutes before turning on the ioniser. Q: How do I clean the internal plates? A: You do not need to clean the plates since they are self-cleaning. Please call our customer service department. Q: Where can I get new filters? A: New filters can be ordered directly from the Salustra website and will arrive within 48 hours. Q: Who do I contact if there is a problem? A: The specialist engineer whom fitted your water system, should have left you contact details in case of emergency, however if these details have been misplaced, you can contact one of our support team at support@salustra.global when will arrange for an engineer to get in touch as soon as possible. 18

19 The Importance of Pre-Filtering Your Tap Water Growing concern over the availability of good drinking water is on the minds of people all around the globe. It is an alarming fact that many contaminants infiltrate our reservoirs, from plastics to pharmaceuticals to heavy metals and bacteria, contaminated tap water has been linked to a wide variety of illnesses and even death. For most, water quality is important and the use of a water ioniser can be a key step in safeguarding your health. It has been suggested that drinking ionised water is the foundation to creating, regaining and maintaining a healthy body and in medical trials it has helped the healing process faster than any drug, vitamin, mineral or tonic that was treating the same ailment.
