2 DESCRIPTION The water of the water network is almost always hard water, that is rich in calcium and magnesium salts, known for their property to deposit and form the feared limescale when the water is heated. The ideal water has a degree of hardness of 9 French (each degree corresponds to 10 mg of calcium and magnesium salts per liter). The softener mod. 801 is used for the purification of water from limestone, by means of an ion exchange resin, avoiding deposits and residues on the strengths of distillers, washing machines and water baths. Ion exchange resin, regenerated with cooking salt (NaCl) for food use. Inlet and outlet water taps. The softener mod. 801 works with the water network pressure usually from 0.5 to 2.5 bar, and should only be fed with potable water at ambient temperature. Supplied with flow meter, 1", for verification of liters of softened water. Stainless steel external construction. Testing with the final test at 100% to 8 bar. 3 INSTALLATION / USE The softener installation must not be made in places with temperatures below zero degrees centigrade to prevent freezing of the water inside. Installation should be in places protected against external damage. The water connection must be made by qualified personnel. Connect the pipes to the inlet and outlet water taps with suitable means to prevent damage to the threads and turn the taps as POSITION 1 on the label. Connect the drain hose directly into an open trap. The softener comes equipped with a transparent PVC tube. For the correct operation of the resin and to obtain efficient performance you must make a first rinse, taking the levers of taps open until the water does not come clear. During this operation, connect the output of the tap below the drain siphon. If not in use softener for a period of over 48 hours is recommended to perform a rinse following the procedures referred to above. MAINTENANCE / REGENERATION Maintenance must be performed by qualified personnel. The operations must be conducted in total safety. For any spare parts directly contact ASAL. For external routine cleaning (directed only to the outer casing), do not use products containing chlorine or abrasive. The regeneration frequency depends on the water hardness. Looking at the label on the softener, with the taps position: 1. Connect the hose supplied, from the upper tap to a container 2. Open the upper tap by turning clockwise the lever, as shown in position 2 for the water discharge 3. Remove the cover by lifting the lever or by unscrewing the knob 4. Introduce the salt in the amount prescribed in the table according to the model 5. Clean the gasket located on the lid of any residues of salt or resin to the contact surfaces 6. Replace the cover correctly 7. Connect the hose supplied from the lower tap to a container or a drain 8. Open the lower tap by turning the lever clockwise to position 3 9. Let the salt water drain from the tube until the water is sweet 10. Return the taps levers in the original position as in position It is recommended to perform the regeneration when the machine is not in use so that the salt slowly wasting away completely regenerate the resin.
