7 The Parks & Recreation department goes to great lengths to limited the amount of chemical applications used. First & foremost all other methods of weed control are put into use first and as a last resort a chemical application is applied.
8 The Parks & Recreation department has used with great success a herbicide solution of; 5 litres of pickling vinegar 500 grams of table salt Agitate the solution and use in a 10-litre pump sprayer. When drought like conditions appear the solution kills broadleaf in approximately 2 hours, grass needs a second application generally. Incorporated into use and developed throughout the summer of 2002.
