2 Whether you are gardening at home or in a community or school garden, the fresh fruits and vegetables you grow are increasing local food security and improving health and nutrition. However, little is known about the amount or dollar value of food grown in home, community and school gardens. This website is designed to allow you to use data from the United States Department of Agriculture to estimate the dollar value of produce grown in your garden while at the same time helping us to calculate the impact of food production in home, school, community gardens across the county. All you need to do is answer ten quick questions. We used Data from the United States Department of Agriculture to create our calculator, you can use the link to track the data that we use, calculations and assumptions. FAQ
