2 Important information Please read the following notes before installing: Electrical shock from voltages used in system can cause injury or death. Prior making any electrical connections, or performing maintenance and repair, ensure power is removed. Mains electrical connections should be made only by qualified personel in accordance with local regulation. 1. The use of power ols will be required during installation. Always wear safety goggles when using power ols. 2. When drilling the required mounting holes, ensure the drilling area is free from concealed wires and pipes. 3. The power supply provided is suitable for internal mounting only. 1. For problems with the operation of the system, please refer the programming instructions and the troubleshooting guide at the back of the manual. 2. If you have a faulty unit, all components of the system must be returned your supplier for a replacement be issued. PAGE 2

3 System installation Thank you for purchasing the Proximity kit. In the kit you will find the following items. 4 Fitting the kit Step 1: Carefully mark out the three mounting holes for the reader and the hole of the cable feed. Step 2: Drill the marked holes for the mounting points and the cable feed. When drilling the holes, ensure that you are aware of any hidden cables or pipes. The 10mm masonary bit needs be long enough drill a hole through the wall. Once the holes have been drilled, fit the supplied rawl plugs and feed the cable through the cable feed hole before securing the reader the wall using the screws supplied. step 2 step 1 Step 3: Fit the reader cover the reader, and secure using the screw provided. step 3 Exit butn (push make) Lock To power supply PAGE 4

5 Wiring Information Black Red 0v power supply wire 12v power supply wire Blue/Mauve Exit butn wires Green Yellow 0v lock wire 12v lock wire The lock and power wires must be connected the correct polarity, otherwise the system could be damaged. Step 1: Mark the mounting points for the power supply. Drill the four holes, fit the rawl plugs and screw the power supply the wall. Step 2: Run the black/red cables from the reader the power supply. Attach the red wire the 12v power supply terminal, and the black wire the 0v power supply terminal. The cables can be secured in place using the cable clips provided. Please ensure that the cable is not damaged when fitting the cable clips. Fit the power lead provided. Step 3: Using the guides provided, make a gap for the cables on the power supply cover. Fit the cover, feeding the cables through the gap. Do not connect the power supply the mains until the lock is fitted. Once is done, power the system up, and start programming the system. PAGE 5

If a user has lost their keyfob, it can easily be removed from the system. 2. Take the correct shadow from the box. 3. Present the shadow the reader and return the box. 4. Reseting the system Should it be required, the system can be reset. There are two ways of doing. Only use one method reset the system. 1. Power down the unit 2. Press and hold the exit butn (connect the exit butn wires if no exit butn is present.) 3. Power up the unit - wait for beep/red LED go out 4. Release and press the exit butn a further 2 times (within 3 seconds) 5. The reader will beep 6 times 6. WAIT FOR 5 SECONDS! OR 1. Present Enrolment 2. Present Door open time twice 3.
