8 Maintenance, the ICCU way. Intensive Ceasefire Care Unit (ICCU) is a group of skilled, trained professionals who ensure that every Ceasefire device in your premises is always working optimally. They do this through regular checks and updates on each device. From cleaning dirt on the exteriors to checking internal mechanisms, ICCU leaves no detail unchecked. MAINTENANCE CHECKS FOR ALL STORED PRESSURE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS 1. Thorough Cleaning Corrosion on the extinguisher's body can lead to leakage. Hence, the extinguisher is checked for dust deposits and dents. 2. Safety Seal Check Then, the safety seal is checked to ensure that it is intact and has not been tampered with. 3. Discharge Nozzle and Hosepipe Checks The discharge nozzle is checked to ensure that it is unclogged. For 5 kg extinguishers, the hosepipe is checked to ensure that it is properly attached. 4. Instalert Test The functioning and circuitry of the Instalert bracket alarm are checked to ensure that the fire alarm goes off when the extinguisher is lifted from its bracket. 5. Pressure Gauge Test Lowered pressure can result in a redundant fire extinguisher. ICCU engineers use a special magnetic device is used to check that the pressure gauge is in perfect working condition. MAINTENANCE CHECKS FOR CO 2 FIRE EXTINGUISHERS 1. Thorough Cleaning The extinguisher is checked for dust deposits and cleaned thoroughly from the outside. 2. Electronic Weight And Leakage Check According to the law, and to ensure safety, a CO 2 extinguisher must be weighed once every three months to check for leakage. Safety Seal Check The safety seal is checked to ensure that it is intact and has not been tampered with. 4. Used / Unused Indicator Check The Used/Unused Indicator is checked to ensure that it is operational and that the product has not been used. 5. Discharge Pipe Check The discharge pipe is checked to ensure that it is clean and unclogged. 6. Wear And Tear Inspection Finally, the extinguisher is scanned for signs of wear and tear or breakage of components like the wheels, the base etc.

9 MAINTENANCE CHECKS FOR WIRELESS SMOKE DETECTION SYSTEMS 1. Monitoring Console Tests The Central Monitoring Console is tested multiple times to ensure that the Remote Sensing mechanism is operational and functioning properly. 2. Zonal Warning System Check The Zonal Warning System is checked through the use of mock alarms to ensure that correct zones are being identified. 3. Auto-Dialler Tests The Auto-Dialler is tested to ensure that it is working, that the calls are placed to the correct numbers and that the correct pre-recorded message is played for each number. MAINTENANCE CHECKS FOR INDIVIDUAL SMOKE DETECTORS 1. Thorough Cleaning Dust accumulation can cause the circuits inside a smoke detector to fail. Hence, each smoke detector is opened, checked for dust deposits and cleaned thoroughly. 2. Detector Communication Test A detector communication test is run to ensure that the detector s Remote Sensing mechanism is operational. 3. Battery Power Test A battery power test is used to check that the battery is functioning properly. 4. Smoke Detection Test An actual smoke detection test is run on each detector to ensure that the smoke detection apparatus is not malfunctioning. 5. Emergency Light Test For models that include a special emergency escape light, the light bulb is tested to ensure that it is in working condition.
