7 rss5tech An ISO 9001:2000 Cedified Company BS EN /SO 9001:2000 CERr NO; FS tsoe001certno Test Method for Garbon Dioxide (GOz) & Garbon Monoxide (GO) Objective To monitor and confirm the normal levels of both the carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide gases that present in the office premises. The concentration level of carbon dioxide that present in the air will aid us to pass a judgement on the efficiency of ventilation. lnstrument Used TSI IAQ-CALCTM Model 8762 Meter Method Carbon dioxide level was measured by the use of a dual wavelength nondispersive infrared absorption sensor while carbon monoxide was measured using an electro-chemical detector. Specification (As per Singapore Standard SS 554 : 2009) COz Level - < 700 ppm above outdoor CO Level -.9 ppm Procedure 1) 2) 3) The TSI meter is a direct reading instrument. The meter was positioned at the selected sampling locations at a height of approximate 1.2 meter. COz and CO concentration level was recorded after the reading had stabilized.

Specification (As per Singapore Standard SS 554 : 2009) Formaldehyde Level - < 0.1 ppm Procedure 1) 2) 3) The Formaldemeter is a direct reading instrument. The meter was positioned at the selected sampling locations at a height of approximate 1.2 meter. Formaldehyde level was recorded after the reading had stabilized.

Specification (As per Singapore Standard SS 554 : 2009) Ozone Level - < 0.05 ppm Procedure 1) 2) 3) The Ozone meter is a direct reading instrument. The meter was positioned at the selected sampling locations at a height of approximate 1.2 meter. Ozone level was recorded after the reading had stabilized.

The results were then converted into mass concentration. Specification (As per Singapore Standard SS 554 : 2009) Particles Contamination Level - < 50 trg/m' Procedure 1) 2) 3) The Aerosol Mass Monitor is a direct reading instrument. The meter was positioned at the selected sampling locations at a height of approximate 1.2 meter. Particulate concentration level was recorded after the reading had stabilized.

12 5:''TECH Test Method for Total Bacteria Gount An ISO 9001:2000 Ceftified Company BS EN/SO 9001:2000 CERT NO: FS ts) 9001 CERTNo Objective To assess the levels of bacteria present in the office premises and compare with the Singapore Standard SS 554 : Instrument Used Surface Air System Model SAS Super 100 Method The centrifugal fan from the air sampler drew in a fixed volume of air (100 liters/minute) from each sample location. Microorganisms like bacteria were trapped in the 90 mm petri dish that contain Tryptone Soy Agar. The petri dishes were incubated for a period of 48 hours at a constant temperature of 35"C. Specification (As per Singapore Standard SS 554 : 2009) Total Bacteria Count - < 500 CFU/m' Procedure 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) The air sampler has a fixed sample volume of 100 liters/minute. lt was programmed to take a 2 minutes sample. A 90 mm petri dish containing Tryptone Soy Agar was placed in between the air sampler and the sampling head at the start of the test. At the selected sampling locations, the sampler was positioned at a height of approximate 1.2 to 1.5 meters above the floor. At the end of the test, the agar plate was removed and sealed. Location label was then attached. Step 2 to step 4 were repeated again at each selected location. The exposed agar plates were then incubated for a period of 48 hours at a constant temperature of 35"C.

13 ::J;TECH Test Method for Total Fungal Gount An ISO 9001:2000 Certified Company 85 EN /SO 9001:2000 CERTNO: FS ISO 9001 CERr No Objective To assess the levels of fungi present in the office premises and compare with the Singapore Standard SS 554 : lnstrument Used Surface Air System Model SAS Super 100 Method The centrifugal fan from the air sampler drew in a fixed volume of air (100 liters/minute) from each sample location. Microorganisms (like yeast & mould) were trapped in the 90 mm petri dish that contain Rose Bengal Agar. The petri dishes were incubated for a period of 120 hours at a constant temperature of 25"C. Specification (As per Singapore Standard SS 554 :2009) Total Fungal Count - < 500 CFU/m3 Procedure 1) The air sampler has a fixed sample volume of 100 liters/minute. lt was programmed to take a 2 minutes sample. 2) A g0 mm petri dish containing Rose Bengal Agar was placed in between the air sampler and the sampling head at the start of the test. 3) At the selected sampling locations, the sampler was positioned at a height of approximate 1.2 to 1.5 meters above the floor. 4) At the end of the test, the agar plate was removed and sealed. Location label was then attached. 5) Step 2 to step 4 were repeated again at each selected location. 6) The exposed agar plates were then incubated for a period of 120 hours at a constant temperature of 25"C.

14 CSS5TECH Test Method for Temperature & Relative Humidity An ls0 9001:2000 Certified Company BS EN /S0 9001:2000 CERTNO: FS ISO 9001 CERr No Objective To confirm that ambient room temperatures and relative humidities are satisfactory and conform to the Singapore Standard SS 554 : Instrument Used Testo Model 635 Meter Method The meter employed a thermistor for temperature measurement and a thin-film capacitive sensor for humidity measurement. Specification (As per Singapore Standard SS 554 : 2009) Average Temperature Level to 26.0 "C Average Humidity Level - < 65 % RH Procedure 1) 2) 3) The Testo meter is a direct reading instrument. The meter was positioned at the selected sampling locations at a height of approximate 1.2 meter. Temperature and relative humidity levels were recorded after the reading had stabilized.

15 Test Method for Air Movement ee* An ISO 9001:2000 Certified ComPanY BSEN/SO 9001:2000 CERTNO: FS68089 /S CERTNo 02-2'8442 Objective To confirm that air velocities are satisfactory and conform to the singapore Standard SS 554 :2009. lnstrument Used TSI Model 8346-M-GB Meter Method The TSI meter employed a hot wire sensor to measure air velocities. specification (As per singapore standard ss 554 : 2009) Average Air Velocity Level - Between 0.10 m/sec to 0.30 m/sec Procedure 1) The TSI meter is a direct reading instrument' 2) The meter was positioned at the selected sampling locations at a height of approximate 1 '2 meter' 3) Air velocity levels were recorded after the reading had stabilized

17 ::';TECH Specific Findings ^' i: P,?,t t lj,1t i:,t'i f i:t!,* n iso 9007 CERr No t An indoor air quality (lao) audit was conducted at DSO Antennas and Scattering Laboratory at NUS on 1't March The testing was carryout in accordance with the Code of Practice (SS 554 : 2009) for lndoor Air Quality for Air- Conditioned Buildings published by SPRING Singapore. These include the chemical, physical and biological parameters. A) Ghemical Parameters 1) Garbon Dioxide The carbon dioxide levels detected at all the 3 locations that we tested and they were within the threshold limit specified by the Singapore Standard SS 554 for indoor air quality in air-conditioned buildings. The readings were 487 ppm, 442 ppm and 520 ppm. 2) Garbon Monoxide Carbon monoxide was not detected (lower than the detectable threshold of the instrument used) at all the 3 locations that we tested. 3) Formaldehyde Formaldehyde was detected at the Conference Room and the formaldehyde level was within the threshold limit of 0.1 ppm. The formaldehyde level detected was 0.09 ppm. Formaldehyde was not detected (lower than the detectable threshold of the instrument used) at both the Far Field Operation Room and Near Field Operation Room. 4l Ozone Ozone was not detected (lower than the detectable threshold of the instrument used) at all the 3 locations that we tested. 5) Volatile Organic Gompounds Volatile organic compounds were detected at all the 3 locations that we tested and they were within the threshold limit specified by the Singapore Standard SS 554 for indoor air quality in air-conditioned buildings. The readings were between 0.4 ppm and 2.2 ppm.

18 ::'JTECH B) Physical Parameters An ISO 9001:2000 Certified Company BS EN /SO 9001:2000 CERTN0; FS ISO 9007 CERr No ) Resipi rable Particu late Particulate contaminations detected at all the 3 locations that we tested were within the limit of 50 Ug/m'. This is the threshold limit as specified in the Singapore Standard SS 554 for indoor air quality in air-conditioned buildings. The readings were between 1.5 pg/m3 and 5.3 pg/m'. 7) Temperature The temperature readings at both the Conference Room and Far Field Operation Room fell within the recommended range of 24'C to 26'C. The temperature readings recorded were 25.5"C and 24.9"C. The temperature reading at the Near Field Operation Room fell outside the recommended range of 24'C to 26'C. We recorded the temperature of 22.8"C. 8) Relative Humidity Relative humidity readings at all the 3 locations that we tested were within the recommended range of 70% RH. The relative humidity readings recorded were between 515% RH and 62.9% RH. e) Air Movement Air velocities at all the 3 locations that we tested were within the stipulated level. c) Biological Parameters 10) Total Bacteria Gount The total bacteria counts at all the 3 locations that we tested were within the limit of 500 CFU/m3 specified by the Singapore Standard SS 554 for indoor air quality in air-conditioned buildings. The total bacteria counts at the 3locations were 355 CFU/m3, 190 CFU/m3 and 125 CFU/m3. 1',1) Total Fungal Gount The total fungal counts at all the 3 locations that we tested were within the limit of 500 CFU/m3 specified by the Singapore Standard SS 554 for indoor air quality in air-conditioned buildings. The total fungal counts at the 3 locations were 60 CFU/m3, 1 15 CFU/m3 and 15 CFU/m3.

20 :!';TECH o' s?,tsi ffittj,t'*ifil 9,* nt Gonclusion iso e001 cerrno 02'2'8442 From the test result, it indicated that the temperature at the Near Field Operation Room was outside the limits set out in the spring Singapore ss 554 Standard for gooo indoor air quality in air-conditioned buildings. some fine adjustment to the ihermostat control should able to bring the temperature of this room to be within the recommended limits. As for the other lae parameters that we have tested, they were all within the limits ouflined in the spring singapore ss 554 Standard for good indoor air quality in air-conditioned buildings. We do not detect any major problem.
