2 01 Quality Control & Assurance The implementation of quality control (QC) and quality management systems in IVF, andrology and cryopreservation labs started more than two decades ago. In the meantime, being ISO certified has not only become a common standard in the field but is a mandatory part of many guidelines and even law. If done by hand, QC procedures can be time consuming and cumbersome. Our products assist you in increasing the accuracy of your measurements. To a large extent, monitoring of critical devices and processes can even be fully automated.

4 01 OCTAX Log & Guard TM OCTAX Log & Guard TM is a monitoring and alarming system which has been specifically designed to meet the needs of quality control in A.R.T. All critical culture and storage parameters are continuously measured and documented through a network of external sensors: Temperature inside incubators, fridges, freezers, liquid nitrogen storage tanks Ambient temperature and humidity CO 2 from incubators O 2 from incubators (reduced oxygen atmosphere) ph of culture media (via ph Online TM ) Power supply is constantly monitored in the background. In case any of the values exceeds the pre-defined normal range, Log & Guard TM will rise visual and audible alarms and send a text message to up to four mobile phones. Avoiding an additional PC, the system operates on a web interface based software platform which is easily accessible from any computer in your local network. Alarming conditions and thresholds, measurement intervals and many other parameters can be set individually to perfectly adapt the monitoring network to your individual lab. For long term storage, measured data can be converted into MS Excel files. 7 04 ph Online TM ph is one of the most critical parameters determining the performance of culture media. The embryo s internal ph which is known to regulate various metabolic and transport processes can only be maintained in an appropriate environment. Typically, checking media ph by conventional ph meters is too cumbersome and time-consuming to be done in short intervals. ph Online TM has been designed to continuously monitor media ph from a reference dish placed in the incubator. 8 05 IncuCheck TM CO2 analyzer Conventional analyzers use to aspirate gas samples from an incubator s inner chamber, triggering regulating activities which in turn will lead to biased measuring results. In addition, gas sampling has to stop after a few minutes in order to avoid moisture damage of the sensor. 14 11 Air purification systems ZAND-AIR TM air cleaners No matter how well you maintain your laboratory, your work area can be loaded with air pollutants like dust particles, mold spores, dander, pollen, dust mite excrement, viruses, bacteria, cleaning chemicals, carbon monoxide and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from off-gassing plastic materials and paints. All these have a direct impact on your results. Besides classical filtration and adsorption to, e.g., activated carbon, the key to effective air purification is photo-catalytic oxidation (PCO). The PCO process results from an interaction between UV C light (253.7 nm; no ozone generation) and titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) nano particles attached to a grid. 15 12 Air purification systems # / 0300 ZAND-AIR PCOC 3 central air purification unit The PCOC TM 3 is an encased unit to be fitted into the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) ducting. It consists of a series of three photo catalytic oxidation chambers (PCOC), a remote service panel and has the option for a removable MERV-13 and potassium permanganate filter. Air cleaning is done in two steps: 1. Photo-catalytic oxidation converts malign toxic compounds (even carbon monoxide and nitrous oxide) into benign constituents 2. The clastogenic effect of ultraviolet light kills bacteria and viruses which are too small to be retained by the HEPA filter The optional potassium permanganate filter adsorbs any possible aldehydes remaining in the airflow.
