5 4. Introduction LeakFilm Pro is a controller connected to either the LeakFilm Conductive_D or the LeakFilm Chemical sensor to detect conductive or chemical liquid leaks respectively with location detection. The controller features a buzzer, 5 push buttons UP, DOWN, SET, MODE and RESET for configuration, 5 LEDs indicating the status of FAULT, LEAK, POWER and Tx & Rx for communication status, and 8x2 character LCD for status indication and configuration. The controller also provides a relay for controlling external equipment such as alarms, sirens, valves or switches. Due to the fast response time of the LeakFilm sensors, the controller can detect a leak within a few seconds with leak location and up to 200m of sensor can be connected. The controller can detect a broken sensor as well as a liquid leak. When the broken sensor is detected, the fault LED is activated and it is displayed in the LCD. LeakFilm Pro has been designed to be mounted through 2 mounting holes, so that the user can easily install the controller on a wall or in the interior of an electrical control panel easily. LeakFilm Pro provides advanced communication functions (RS-485), so that it can be connected to the LeakFilm MC (Master Controller) which can monitor the status of up to 200 controllers. LeakTime CNT:1 Set the time by UP & DOWN button. 1~30 counts. Confirm by SET button, then completed with beep. Table 9: Leak delay time setting Delay time determines how fast the LeakFilm Pro responds to the leak signal from the sensor. The user can set the value CNT within the range of 1 to 30 counts. From this, the actual response time can be calculated as shown below. Actual response time = (0.64 sec x CNT) + 2 seconds e.g. If CNT is 5, response time = 0.64 x = 5.2 seconds The default value of CNT is 2 and the actual response time of the controller in ideal case is around 3 seconds. If the controller and sensor are installed in an electrically noisy or high humidity environment, the CNT value should be larger to minimise the possibility of nuisance alarms. In a normal environment, default CNT value (=2) would work well. 22
