2 REMOTE CONTROL Installation and operating guide 2 Introduction REMOTE CONTROL Installation and operating guide 3 Safety Each astral TM remote control can provide on/off control over switches and on/off and dimming control over dimmers. Up to 64 different switches and dimmers can be controlled by each remote control. These can be split into up to 4 separate groups and 4 separate scenes a scene is where preset lighting levels can be recalled and adjusted to set desired lighting moods. The remote control also allows activation of the astral TM system ALL-OFF function. The remote control also incorporates a command status indicator giving visual indication and confirmation that any commands to other switches and dimmers have been successfully received. The remote control is supplied with a wall mounting bracket and should be used in dry indoor locations only. The remote control can be used as the system s primary controller. Group control and dimming When turning on a group, dimmers will turn on at the light level they were set to before they were turned off. The light levels of all dimmers in a group will align to the same level after any dimming operation ends. Scene control and dimming When turning on dimmers in a scene they will always go to their programmed light level for the scene. Dimming of all dimmers in a scene will maintain any difference in light level after dimming stops. The light levels will not align. Always follow the manufacturer s advice when using power tools, steps, ladders etc. and wear appropriate protective equipment such as safety goggles when drilling holes. Before drilling holes in walls, check for hidden electricity cables and water pipes, and use a cable/pipe locater if in doubt.
