3 OUR HERITAGE Crane Building Services & Utilities forms part of the Fluid Handling Group within Crane Co. founded in 1855, which is a multi-industry, New York Stock Exchange quoted company with a turnover today rapidly approaching $3bn. Crane Limited was founded in 1919 making malleable iron fittings and valves and Crane Building Services & Utilities has been created as a result of Crane Ltd. acquiring Viking Johnson, Helden and WASK in 2003, and Hattersley in The most recent acquisition brings Delta Fluid Products into the organisation. 5 Across a wide variety of projects including hospitals, schools, offices, hotels and stadia, our standard range of products is complemented by specialist products to give best value, Dominator, Metrex and Autoflow are some examples. Where systems are designed for constant or variable flow, we can offer a wide range of flow or pressure balancing valve solutions. Our new KHS Public Health range is used to control legionella for hot or cold water systems through temperature and / or flow control and assists in meeting the requirements of ACOP L8 and HTM BUILDING SERVICES Crane Fluid Systems and Hattersley have been widely specified within the building services market for over 80 years. In a recent customer survey, product quality, reliability, and technical expertise were highlighted as key areas of strength for these brands. The vast experience gained over this time has led to a wide range of product innovations and range extensions to meet the new challenges that have been set by legislative requirements, the need for greater system efficiency and the need to provide installed cost savings for our customers. Crane Fluid Systems offers a full range of malleable iron pipe fittings and unions, which carry the BSI kitemark, are LPCB approved and listed in the WRAS directory. Malleable iron fittings conforming to BS EN have UL approval. Both Crane and Hattersley offer a full range of traditional gate, globe and check valves in both iron and alloy materials, as well as ball and butterfly valves which are often preferred for their space and weight saving. Both brands are recognised leaders in the provision of balancing valves for flow control. Driven by our customersʼ need to minimise onsite construction costs with factory approved quality products we introduced the concept of Dominator and Hook Up units for terminal unit application, and manifold systems for those who wish for zonal control from a single location. The recent acquisition of Delta Fluid Products has further strengthened our brand offering with NABIC, Rhodes, Brownall, IAT and Wade. The addition of these high quality products will enhance the total package that can be offered to our customers. The combination of many years project experience, innovation to meet new market demands and range enhancements, enables us to remain at the forefront of the building services market. One of the UK's leading suppliers of gunmetal safety valves, NABIC has long been recognised as the industry standard for commercial and industrial hot water applications. With the introduction of new products this leadership has been extended to cover other building service fluids such as steam and air. Rhodes is a market leader in the design and manufacture of sight flow indicator equipment, having produced indicators since Rhodes sight flow indicators can be found in process, petrochemical and pharmaceutical plants all over the world. The Brownall range of automatic air eliminators cover low, medium and high pressure applications and are suitable for use with water, aviation fuel, diesel and light oils. The range is completed by three-way vent valves, offering efficient performance, reliable service combined with potential savings in time and cost by simplifying the venting system for single/multi boiler or calorifier installations. An extensive range of low and medium pressure, brass compression fittings, valves and accessories. The range also covers SISTEM-P and compact push in fittings, nickel plated BSP fittings, quick release couplings, air guns, recoil hoses and tubing. The importance of safe and reliable potable water systems has never been greater, and a range of I.A.T. products complements the existing Crane Fluid Systems or Hattersley Multi-Therm and KHS ranges. 6 GAS UTILITIES WASK SERVICE FITTINGS WASK supplies high-quality service fittings to connect steel or iron mains to domestic and industrial premises to suit polyethylene pipe diameters 16mm to 180mm. SPERRYN EMERGENCY CONTROL VALVES Fire resistant valves are independently certified to GIS/V7-3 and are BSI kitemarked. Operating pressures are from 500 mbar to 5 bar. As one of several key features and benefits the unique integral lug and locking screw enables secure isolation of the valve in the closed position only, even if the operating lever is removed. The gas utilities product range comprising WASK fittings has been enhanced by the acquisition of Sperryn Gas Controls from Delta Fluid Products. Both companies are market leaders in the supply of specialist fittings, pipeline equipment, regulators and ball valves of the highest quality to the global gas distribution market. Sperryn is also a leading supplier of meter installation kits for domestic and industrial applications. From their foundation in the late 1880ʼs Sperryn and WASK brands have been at the forefront of the international gas industry. Both brands have gained a reputation as leaders in producing innovative, safe and cost effective solutions in pipe jointing technology and gas control valves. WASK Teeset and Bagging-off equipment over the years has also become a standard in the UK gas industry and in many markets overseas. WASK MAINS FITTINGS The WASK PECAT fitting is a highperformance mechanical connection for polyethylene gas pipe, its end-load and pressure retaining abilities exceed the performance of the pipe itself. All PECAT connections are factory assembled and fulfil the requirements of British Gas Industry Standard GIS/PL3 for both PE80 and PE100 pipe up to 1000mm diameter. WASK GAS EQUIPMENT Increasing demand for gas safety, combined with growing distribution pressures and the need to provide continuity of supplies has created a demand for high-performance pipeline maintenance equipment. The WASK Teeset drilling and tapping machine, capable of inserting fittings into iron mains, together with the Bagpipe bagging-off and By-pass system (illustrated) provide a robust and safe means of maintaining and extending gas mains. SPERRYN GAS REGULATORS Sperryn Gas Controls has been at the forefront of the international gas industry since 1889, giving the company over 100 years of experience. Using the latest design facilities and technologies our gas regulators offer increased capacity, accuracy and lower pressure drops. Our domestic, commercial and industrial regulators meet British Gas Industry Standards and are approved to EN88. SPERRYN INDUSTRIAL METER INSTALLATION KITS All kits meet the M9 Industrial Metering Specification. All components supplied are technically sized and correctly selected for the specified meter. 7 WATER UTILITIES The Viking Johnson, WASK, Posiflex and Helden brands are recognised as having high quality pipeline products for the international water market. Viking Johnson is a world leader in the supply of mechanical couplings and repair products that can address a wide range of disparate pipe materials, which perform to the highest standards and are designed to last the life of the pipeline. The company has unrivalled experience in supplying products to over 80 countries for a wide range of applications ranging from 15mm to 5000mm in diameter. Viking Johnson is acknowledged as an innovator in designing and developing pipe joint and repair solutions ranging from wide tolerance fittings for everyday use through to more specialist products to meet specific customer requirements. The breadth of products in this portfolio is extensive, with over 14,000 individual items within the product range, so it is unlikely that we will not have a solution to meet your need. A dedicated team of design engineers provides product development and support function to the business, while our onsite test facility allows us to confirm the integrity of our products in an efficient and cost effective manner. In order to maintain our policy of a 50 year design life we undertake accelerated aging tests in-house to establish that our products will outlive the pipe network in which they are installed. In addition, all products are also tested by third party organisations, giving customers the peace of mind that our products will meet the most exacting requirements of todayʼs markets. WASK is a leading supplier of equipment in the gas market and has transferred proven technology from their equipment range into the water sector. WASK flow stopping equipment ensures utilities can undertake essential maintenance quickly and effectively without disrupting supplies to customers. Posiflex expansion joints are a totally effective solution for unwanted pipe movement, ideal for motion compensation, vibration elimination, noise control and stress relief. Taken together the comprehensive product range provides total solutions for pipe connection, flow control and pipe expansion. Yorkshire Water, Esholt WTW, Leeds utilises Viking Johnson couplings and flanges. COUPLINGS AND FLANGE ADAPTORS The Viking Johnson system for joining together plain-ended pipes was first introduced to the market in the 1930ʼs and is now recognised as being second to none in reliability and quality. Since then the range has evolved from dedicated bespoke coupling products for each pipe material / diameter and now includes MaxiFit and MegaFit products, offering wide tolerance fitting covering several products in each nominal size. More recently this has been extended to include UltraGrip, a unique range of wide tolerance gripping products offering end restraint to negate the need for expensive external thrust block. REPAIR CLAMPS & UNDER PRESSURE TEES The EasiRange and HandiRange products were developed to provide a comprehensive range of products to effect repairs and take off connections to existing pipelines whilst the mains are still under pressure. This enables the water company to undertake essential work without having to cut off water supply to end user customers. WASK WATER EQUIPMENT - FLOW STOPPING Aquastop is a revolutionary, unique new product designed to provide a competitive, low cost solution to temporarily stopping flow in an operating pipeline whilst still maintaining a water supply to the customer. Line stopping with Aquastop enables piping systems to be isolated for repair, alteration and renovation. Complementing Aquastop is the Hydrant Wizard which enables replacement of defective fire hydrants without interruption of flow in the mains. VALVES Our range of resilient seated gate valves, eccentric plug valves, hydrants and FlexCheck valves provide low maintenance and reliable performance across a wide range of applications. POSIFLEX Expansion joints are manufactured from a wide range of rubber compounds, open or filled, single or multiple arch and designed to accommodate the needs of individual pipe systems conveying materials as diverse as foodstuffs, chemicals or crude oil.
