History Pyott-Boone Electronics was established in March of 1971 by Frank Pyott and Roger Boone to supply the U.S. coal mining industry with the most technologically advanced communication and monitoring systems available. Starting with just a handful of people we have grown to employ a diverse and robust workforce of industry experts around the world. In April 2011, Pyott-Boone Electronics was acquired by Prairie Capital and Vierville Capital with the intention of helping Pyott-Boone Electronics grow into the world leader in mine safety and productivity. In March 2012, Pyott-Boone Electronics acquired the Australian company Minecom who had 20 years of underground communications experience. In January 2013, Mine Radio Systems, Inc. (MRS) was acquired; another global leader in communications within the mining and tunneling sectors, with sales and service in over 30 countries. In March 2014, PBE acquired the software solution MineTracker. MineTracker will form PBE s Tracking & Mapping application in MineBoss. The acquisitions of Minecom, MRS and MineTracker complement PBE s strategy of bringing safety and productivity systems to mines and tunnels all over the world and expanded the company s product suite and global reach. The combined company has been named The PBE Group and operates separate divisions in mining, tunneling and contract manufacturing.

4 MINING SOLUTIONS Full-Scale, Centralized Control Systems MineBoss 2.0 Operators have come to rely on MineBoss 2.0 for everything from basic atmospheric monitoring to complex, real-time operations information to allow operators to ensure safer working environments and quickly leverage production data with more intelligence. The system provides the integration and visibility for site-wide activity and allows control from any local or internal location. Designed with a user-friendly navigation interface, MineBoss 2.0 provides audible and visual warnings and alarms, contains an integral database management system and is designed with future scalability and mobility in mind. MineBoss 2.0 monitors and controls atmospheric monitoring, personnel and vehicle tagging and tracking, equipment and vehicle telemetry and diagnostics, leaky feeder communication systems, conveyor belt monitoring systems, fire suppression systems, power supplies and battery back-up, fans and air flow, weight scales, pump controls and can relay logic and analog signals from third party products. PBE utilizes a combination of in-house designed, manufactured systems and 3rd party systems to create fit-for-purpose solutions.

Tracking and Tagging Systems PBE mine-wide tracking and tagging systems are capable of determining the location of equipment, personnel and vehicles. Stationary and portable tag readers (wireless or wired) are available for transmitting data over either leaky feeder communication systems (VHF or UHF) or over existing infrastructure without the need to install a new backbone. This significantly reduces the cost to the customer. PBE s tracking systems can be used with an emergency preparedness system, automatic personnel registration or as an access control system. 7 PROXIMITY ALERT SYSTEM Proximity Alert System Enhances Workplace Safety and Increases Productivity PBE s multi-range Proximity Alert System (PAS) is designed to enhance workplace safety by implementing the latest equipment, personnel and vehicle detection technology. The proximity detection and collision avoidance system has been developed to prevent injury and possible loss of life due to the operation of heavy machinery near workers or other hazardous equipment and obstacles on job sites. Proximity Alert System by PBE is the first proximity detection system to integrate above ground and below ground technologies into one complete solution covering multiple ranges with optimal accuracy. PAS has numerous applications for both surface and underground operations that enhance the operator s situational awareness enabling a safer, and therefore more productive workplace.
