3 NEPHELOMETER PRICE LIST Effective Date: September 29, 2006 INSTRUMENTS Model NGN-2A Open-Air Integrating Nephelometer. $10, Integrating polar nephelometer designed for ambient visibility extinction measurements. This model uses a unique integrating open-air design that allows accurate measurement of the scattering extinction coefficient of ambient air. The NGN-2A includes a light projector with bulb, clean air filter, all CMOS electronics for full instrument control and unattended operation, rain sensor, and digital and analog outputs. Requires external power supply capable of providing 13.8 VDC at 4.5 amps (connector parts are included), external data logging device, and span gas for calibration. Instrument is typically installed by suspending from above using the four built-in mounting bolts. Overhead protection is highly recommended. Easy-to-use data logging software is included (external PC with serial port is required for data logging software.) Model NGN-3A PM 2.5 Size-Cut Nephelometer. $10, Integrating polar nephelometer designed for accurate measurement of the scattering coefficient of dry air. This instrument uses a spiral sampler and heated inlet to separate out particles larger than 2.5 microns to satisfy the PM 2.5 standard. The NGN-3A instrument includes light projector with bulb, clean air filter, relative humidity sensor, all CMOS electronics for full instrument control and unattended operation. Digital and analog outputs are available as well as an integrated numeric output display. Four-button switch panel allows user selection of display output, operating parameters, and initiation of span and clean air calibrations. This instrument is designed to operate indoors. A sample inlet line draws air into the measuring chamber while an external temperature sensor measures the ambient air temperature. Requires power supply capable of providing 13.8 VDC at 7 amps (connector parts are included), data-logging device, and span gas for calibration. Easy-touse data logging software is included (external PC with serial port is required for data logging software.) LED Option for NGN-2A or NGN-3A $ The halogen lamp module and chopper for either NGN-2A or NGN-3A instruments can be replaced with a Luxeon Star V Green LED. This device extends the serviceable life to approximately 100,000 hours. Since the LED is electronically chopped, there is no need for the mechanical chopper and motor. However, the optical characteristics are different compared to the halogen lamp and the scattered values will not be the same. The LED has a center wavelength at 530nm with a bandwidth of 40 nm. NEPHELOMETER ACCESSORIES Amp power supply in NEMA enclosure for outdoor use. $ amp regulated power supply with 13.8 VDC output mounted in weather-tight NEMA enclosure for outside installations. Recommended for use with NGN-2A instruments mounted on towers and other exterior installations. Mount this power supply as close to instrument as possible to minimize voltage loss in the cable.
