1 The name for Safer Pest Control Products Growing Success was founded almost 15 years ago with the policy of finding safer methods of pest control, where children and pets need not be excluded from the treated areas. This has now become a vast range of safer products, which expands every year. Some of our key products and new products are detailed below but our full range can be seen on our web site ( The Children and Pet Safe logo has been specially designed so that it s easy to see and identify our safer products on garden centre shelves Slug & Snail Killer Growing Success Slug Killer is a contact slug killer which is based on aluminium sulphate something used in our everyday drinking water (and not a poisonous bait so it is safe to be used around all pets, birds, animals etc.) By being a contact killer, this means that the slugs or snails have to come into actual contact with the crystals in order for it to be effective (but they are not drawn to the crystals, as they would be with the poisonous bait). However, as soon as they come into contact with a crystal, the product immediately comes into effect by dehydrating their saliva glands and within minutes the slug or snail dries up and disappears and there is nothing left of them for any animal to eat. 2 DEEP ROOT TREE STUMP & WEEDKILLER This hugely successful total weedkiller (containing ammonium sulphamate) kills both above and below the ground by systemic action. Deep Root is biodegradable and becomes a beneficial nitrogenous fertiliser supplying plant nutrients for subsequent planting. Simply mix the crystals with water and spray to kill Ground Elder; Horsetail; Dandelions; Thistles, Docks, Nettles and Couch Grass. The treated areas can be cultivated in 3-4 weeks and re-planted in 8-12 weeks. Killing tree stumps (preventing the tree from re-shooting) is equally as simple. Both for newly cut trees and old stumps you simply follow the instructions and drill holes into the stump, fill with the crystals and cover in polythene to protect from the weather. Available in 2 sizes of 540g and 1080g. (MAFF 08368). DEEP ROOT WEEDKILLER GEL Perfect for killing annual and perennial weeds in ornamental borders and difficult to treat areas. This is a systemic weedkiller gel, which you apply directly to the weed (using the brush-on applicator). It contains a red marker dye, so that you can instantly see which weeds you have treated. Available in a 350 ml (MAPP 10640) DEEP ROOT SPOT WEEDER With its own roller ball applicator so that it is very easy to kill weeds that are in the more difficult areas (such as in a lawn or somewhere similar)

3 IVY KILLER & IVY KILLER GEL The Ivy Killer in the trigger spray bottle is perfect for killing ivy growing up walls. Both products work by systemic action and are biodegradable. Based on aluminium sulphate, these products are perfect for killing ivy. The Gel kills ivy in borders and on walls and around trees. It comes with its own brush for brush on application and contains a red marker dye so that you can easily see which leaves have been treated. BUG KILLER & BUG KILLER CONCENTRATE Growing Success Bug Killer are perfect for killing most common pests by contact, in both the garden and greenhouse. They kill greenfly; whitefly; blackfly; red spiter mite; thrips and scale. Both products contain natural plant oils and are for indoor and outdoor use. They are also suitable for organic gardening.

4 ORGANIC ROOTING GEL & ROOTING POWDER Both products contain plant extracts and amino acids which encourage faster root growth with most cuttings. They are free from synthetic growth hormones and fungicides (which are found in hormone rooting powder). Both are suitable for organic gardening GRAFT & SEAL A natural adhesive wax spray to aid the grafting and budding of cherry trees and roses etc. It seals and dries within minutes of application and it is suitable for organic gardening WINTER MOTH BARRIER A natural adhesive spray which traps winter moth caterpillar, ants and earwigs. 5 COOLSHADE This is a spray which contains a white reflective dye which, when sprayed onto a Greenhouse roof/window protects plants from summer sunshine. It also clings to glass in rainstorms. When growing conditions are suitable, or the temperature falls, Coolshade can easily simply be washed off. RAT KILLER & MOUSE KILLER Made entirely of food-grade natural vegetable materials, these products contain no added toxins, poisons or artificial chemicals therefore target and kill rats and mice humanely & safely. Being composed entirely of vegetable materials, any unused product decomposes fully, leaving no residues in the environment. Used as an alternative food source, rather than as a poison bait, Growing Success Rat Killer and Mouse Killer cause death after some 5 to 10 days of regular feed intake and are effective even among rodent populations which are considered to be resistant to conventional methods. While Growing Success Rat Killer and Mouse Killer are highly effective in killing rats and mice, they are completely harmless to humans and non-rodent animals.
