23 The Whole House Solution Application Examples In a residential situation the system might automatically arm outdoor zones at night so that a home owner is alerted if an intruder is walking around in the back garden. The system can alert the home owner by flashing an alert on the colour touchscreen and by calling a mobile phone if the owner is not at home. The home owner can then check CCTV cameras from the touchscreen and a smart phone to see what triggered the alert. A home owner can also arm or disarm the alarm from the smart phone app should they have left the building and need to change the security settings. The security can also be linked into the heating and lighting system so that when the home owner leaves the house and arms the alarm, the system can automatically switch off lights and set back the thermostat to ensure the house is in minimum energy mode whilst the home owner is away. In a commercial application the alarm might be linked to the heating and lighting, so that all lights and heat in the office are switched off when the last person leaves and arms the alarm ensuring expensive lighting and heating is not left on all night. This can also be programmed to happen automatically to line up with the normal office hours or opening hours of the business. Of course the touchscreen allows the ability to override these normal settings if staff are working outside normal working hours. Security This package provides for a very flexible intruder alarm system that can mange up to 64 wireless security zones and 16 wired security zones. Five wireless PIRs and 2 wireless door sensors are provided in the kit but more can be easily added. The system has a built in dialler for connection to the phone line and also connects to the broadband for control via a smartphone app. An external and an internal sounder is also provided in the kit along with two smoke detectors. Four CCTV cameras are also included in the kit which can be viewed from the colour touchscreen and from the smartphone app. Multi Room Audio This kit includes four pairs of high quality ceiling speakers that provide amazing audio in up to four rooms. Four separate sources can be connected to the system allowing different music to be playing in different rooms at the same time or all rooms can be playing the same thing for a party. For example, an ipod, CD player, Radio, Apple Airport Express, Computer, music streamer or any music source can be connected to any of the four input plates that can be located anywhere in the house. The system can be controlled from the subtle keypad in the room or from the colour touchscreen or the smartphone app. Heating Control The package contains a single heating control module and can be connected into just about any heating system. Further heating control modules can be added if it is a multi-zone heating system. The heating control module acts as the thermostat and timer clock and provides the electrical switching to control the system. Whether it is a traditional radiator heating system or underfloor heating or gas boiler or heat pump, this kit can be used. Control is provided by the LCD display on the heating control module or via the colour touchscreen or via the smartphone apps. Room for expansion This kit has also been designed for expandability in mind and is only a subset of what can be done. Many more security, audio and heating zones can be added to the system if required. Other functions can also be added such as Intelligent lighting control, door entry, access control to name just a few things but the reality is that just about anything can be integrated.
