1 Astragals and Thresholds DLP Industries New Stainable Aluminum Astragal DLP Industries, Inc. is proud to introduce our new stainable aluminum astragal. Our new painting process was formulated specifically for DLP and allows for our product to be top-coated to match your doors using an oil-based stain, a latex paint, or an oil-based paint. As always, our aluminum astragals continue to maintain Florida Building Code Compliance. Staining Instructions: The door and Astragal should be stained as one 1. Wipe down the door and astragal with acetone to remove any contaminates or oil. 2. Allow acetone to dry, then tape off or remove the trim strips and hardware that s installed into the astragal in preparation for applying the stain. 3. Apply an oil-based interior wiping stain using a chip brush. Apply the stain in light coats, following the grain of your door. Once each coast becomes tacky, brush it using your chip brush to create the effect of wood grain. Let each coat dry thoroughly before applying the next, making sure to apply at least 2 coats. 4. Once your stain has fully cured, apply a SPAR Varnish for protection from the elements. Follow the manufacturers suggestions for this application. U.S. Patents Pending

We do not need a separate Hurricane Kit to increase our design pressure as all of our astragals are assembled in the exact same fashion. Toggle lock technology provides the ultimate security providing simple and smooth operation and eliminates the ability of unlocking the astragal from the outside. Custom Preps All Astragals are cut to each customer s door specifications. For added strength and security we notch the ends of our astragal to mate with each customer s header and sill Multi-point lock preps are available All aluminum astragal body encapsulates the inactive door, comes fully prepped to each customer s door specs and is installed in minutes. Flush screw bosses provided can be used without strike plates or have the ability to receive the strike plates supplied with your dead-bolt and doorknob lock sets. Security Strip is optional for outswing applications providing added security and eliminating the reveal between the doors for a clean finished appearance. Header Strike Plate receives the slide bolt is supplied with every astragal to reinforce the header and eliminate blow out. Specially formulated header and sill boots are fused to the ends of the astragal providing ultimate protection against water infiltration. 26 inch slide bolt allows for easy operation of the locking mechanisms without the need for a stool or ladder to reach the lock.
