With 350 franchised stores located throughout Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the company offers national and premium brands of pet foods, private label pet foods and pet supplies. We looked at quite a bit of flooring, and researched a number of flooring manufacturers. Friends in the flooring business recommended Karndean because a large, well-known retailer in our area had successfully used their flooring systems. I met with Karndean at the GlobalShop Show in Las Vegas, reviewed the product lines, and was very excited about what I saw. Joe Dent, US General Manager

14 14 Aqua Restaurant Location : Bristol, United Kingdom Product : Art Select Washburn LM07, Fiore LM16, Corris LM22, Da Vinci Spirito Limestone LST04 and Knight Tile Pale Limed Oak KP94, Mid Worn Oak KP103 Da Vinci Knight Tile Aqua Restaurant Group appointed Simple Simon Design and Bath Contract Flooring Ltd to undertake its latest retrofit project in the heart of Bristol s bustling Harbourside. With the floor design being an integral part of the concept, it s no surprise it s being talked about as much as Aqua s modern Anglo-Italian cuisine. Incorporating new Kaleidoscope shapes (Apex and Pennon) and custom Karndean cuts, Simple Simon Design split the restaurant into four key areas, each with its own individual design. To meet the technical specification required, Art Select and Da Vinci were specified in the main bar and restaurant with their R10 slip ratings and 30 mil PU coated wear layers. With various wood and stone designs from Karndean s established Art Select, Da Vinci and Knight Tile ranges featured, the restaurant includes the clean, pale stone of Art Select Fiore to the striking dusty pale brown tones of Knight Tile Mid Worn Oak, to name but a few. Although we had to accommodate high traffic when specifying the right floor, we ultimately wanted the decision to be design led. Simon Jones, designer at Simple Simon Design.

15 Dick s Last Resort Location : Baltimore, Maryland Product : Art Select Sundown Oak HC04 15 Dick s Last Resort, one of America s best known restaurants, maintains locations in Myrtle Beach, Dallas, San Antonio, Baltimore, San Diego, Chicago, Boston and Las Vegas. The restaurant s interior is designed to reflect both the company s renowned nautical theme, as well as the appearance of the local community. The space features a 2,000 pound ship s anchor, and the back wall of the restaurant features facades of Baltimore row houses one with an oversized porch that serves as a stage for live entertainment. Our contractor saw Karndean products at a trade show and really liked the performance characteristics of the flooring. I was impressed that the floor came with a 20 year warranty, and met my requirements for being attractive, durable and low maintenance. It really is everything we were looking for, and everything Karndean said it would be. Andrew Assad, General Manager

16 16 Dunkin Donuts Location : Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Product : Art Select Midnight Oak HC06 and Da Vinci Santi Limestone LST05 Da Vinci Dunkin Donuts, serves more than 3 million customers each day. In the fall of 2010, Heartland Restaurant Group a Dunkin Brands, Inc. Franchisee opened a new location near the University of Pittsburgh. Realizing that the typical Dunkin Donuts prototype would not have the visual appeal necessary to stand out and attract traffic in a congested area with neighboring restaurants and coffee houses, Joe Uhler, Heartland s Real Estate Manager, decided to think outside the box. To make the shop stand out, Uhler began searching for construction materials that would support a more trendy, cool and collegiate look. I liked the fact that Karndean provided me with a variety of product options. I sent over a picture of our space, and Karndean matched up the flooring selections to our Dunkin Donuts colors, which are central to our branding. They also worked the Dunkin Donuts logo right into the flooring something that is really attractive and different. The products were easy to install, which saved us time and money. 17 Harbour Town Lighthouse Location : Hilton Head Island, South Carolina Product : Karndean LooseLay Country Oak LLP92 Karndean LooseLay Working with Ron Timblin and Abbey Floor Fashions to find the best product, Tom Crews, the president of Tom Crews Architects, said Karndean s luxury vinyl tile was ultimately chosen due to its price, easy maintenance and beautiful aesthetics. Having used Karndean s products in previous projects, he knew firsthand that it would be equal to the task. In particular, the quick and easy installation aspects of LooseLay, along with the ability to easily replace damaged planks, were instrumental in the decision to install a floating floor rather than a glue-down product. 19 Hilton DoubleTree Location : Manchester, United Kingdom Product : Art Select Hickory Nutmeg EW03 19 Peter Rose, an experienced Hospitality Property Manager from the Hilton DoubleTree in Manchester, recently revamped the hotel with an impressive new reception, restaurant and bar area. The result of his hard work is a stylish leisure area to welcome their guests. When asked why he went with Karndean, Peter explained, The original wooden floor scratched easily, was hard to maintain and looked tired after coping with heavy traffic 24 hours a day. As expected, the new Karndean flooring has proven to be an excellent choice in every respect. It has provided us with a beautiful wood look floor, that s harder wearing than the original wooden planks and fits in with our new look perfectly. Besides being impressed with the look and durability of the product, Peter also mentioned that the team has been very impressed with how easy it is to clean and maintain. Overall, the new interior revamp of the hotel has been a great improvement to our business, Peter continued. 22 22 mecwacare Location : Malvern, Australia Product : Art Select Spring Oak RL01, Summer Oak RL02 and Winter Oak RL04 Not for profit organization mecwacare has provided care to the community for over 50 years and has recently opened another residential aged care facility in Malvern. When designing this state-of-the-art facility, a major consideration was providing an environment that was not only safe and homey but also exuded a level of class. 24 24 Chattanooga Room at the Inn Location : Chattanooga, Tennessee Product : Da Vinci Piazza Limestone LST03 Da Vinci The Chattanooga Room at the Inn (CRITI) is a non-profit residential program for homeless women and children in Chattanooga, TN. The shelter serves up to 13 families at a time, which results in high levels of daily foot traffic for the floors in common areas such as the hallway, kitchen and dining room. LST03 Piazza Limestone from Karndean s Da Vinci range was the perfect match with its heavy duty 30 mil wear layer. 28 World Vision Location : Federal Way, Washington Product : Art Select Summer Oak RL02 Summer Oak RL02 World Vision built a second cafeteria to service a large number of employees and visitors. A durable floor was necessary to withstand both foot traffic and messes commonly made in a lunchroom, as well as sliding chairs and tables. Shane Nolf, Senior Project Manager at World Vision was also looking for a floor that would meet his budget, be easy to maintain and care for long-term. World Vision selected Art Select Wood Summer Oak (RL02) because it gave them the best overall value in costs, maintenance and look. We were looking at ceramic, laminates and other LVT products for this job. The commercial grade and durability was far better with Karndean, as well as the realistic look of the product itself. The office and workshop have been renovated as part of a farm diversification project using the former poultry sheds. Richard Williams, Owner of the Energy Conservation Centre, specified Karndean LooseLay for the renovation as he was looking for a hardwearing, stylish, and most importantly, eco-friendly flooring solution. When it came down to the flooring side of things it was critical to get it right. We were looking for a product that had some life in it afterwards and was recyclable; flooring that was going to be simple to install, cost effective and would handle very high volumes of traffic. There was only one product on the market that ticked all of those boxes and it was Karndean LooseLay. When it was time to select flooring for his new residence hall, John Tallon knew from his experience with other residence halls on campus that the flooring product selected had to be sustainable, making maintenance costs a key priority. We tested four different products in a 60 square foot area outside the elevators to see what held up the best. We ended up going with Karndean for a few reasons - the thicker wear layer made Karndean hold up extremely well, the design and colors were very attractive, and for a glue down product it was still easy to replace a plank. Designing for our shared environment Just as you design spaces with forethought, we ve always strived to make simply beautiful floors with the lowest possible environmental impact. As a result, and while always complying with environmental legislation, we ve never had to compromise on product quality and performance to meet any environmental requirements. Sustainable materials and processes Some Karndean Designflooring products contain more than 50 percent recycled content and we strive to do even better. The manufacture of the polymers we use requires much less energy than many other materials. We use recycled packaging and our factory waste is recycled at source in a closed-loop process. A generic BRE Green Guide A/A+ rating and 100 percent biodegradable floor care products are just two indicators of our commitment to more environmentally-aware indoor spaces. Our products are manufactured to the ISO environmental standard. Our policy toward all suppliers of accessory products is to help them achieve ISO 9001 and ISO Our adhesives are water-based and free from harmful emissions. Every product also carries low-voc certification from the US Greenguard Environmental Institute and meets their Product Emission Standard for Children & Schools. Logistics, storage and supply We use carefully planned logistics and high-density storage that maximizes capacity and minimizes environmental impact. Subject to the conditions and exclusions set out below Karndean International Limited ( Karndean ) Warranties that the product will not wear out and will be free from all manufacturing defects from the date of purchase for the Warranty period as set out below. (Warranty) Wear out is defined as the removal of the wear layer and design pattern. That the product has been cleaned and maintained using the cleaning and maintenance instructions provided by Karndean and that barrier matting or other such method has been provided at all external entrances to prevent the ingress of outside dirt onto the floor. 4. Protection has been provided to avoid heavy point loading to the floor. This warranty does not cover the following: 1. Damage caused by external factors including but not limited to sunlight, water (including water leakages and subfloor moisture), stains, spills, heat or hydrostatic pressure. 2. Willful or accidental damage. 3. Modifications, repairs or alterations unless carried out by a skilled tradesman and notified to Karndean. 4. Poor installation of subfloor materials, or the use of incorrect subfloor materials.
