With Vogue, you are assured of the same quality of units and the same standards of manufacturing as our Infinity kitchens but at an even more affordable price. We re able to give customers savings of around 20% by making the units in bulk, rather than to order, and saving our factory costs on assembly. Then, because they re supplied flat pack, they take up less room in our trucks so we can pass on delivery savings to you, too. If you are using Wren s professional installation service, the installer will be able to assemble the units for you at just 35 extra per unit to cover the cost of assembly time. There are five styles of Vogue units available - Shaker, J-Pull, Autograph, Edwardian and Slab - representing our most popular ranges. 21 TYPE As a basic rule, the size of your tap fitting should be more or less proportional to the scale of your sink unit. Choose from a variety of styles and designs, depending on your kitchen style, from the shape of the tap handles to the length and curvature of the body. MONOBLOC Taps One single handle or lever controls the hot and cold water delivery, a perfect design for minimalist kitchens. With this type of tap, water pressure for hot and cold must be close to equal. on tap There s an endless choice of taps at Wren. Just turn to your designer to help you choose. Taps are a prominent feature on a clear and tidy worktop and it s the attention to details such as taps that will really make your kitchen stand out. At Wren we carry a wide range of tap fittings. Mix and match them with the sink unit of your choice and create that perfect finishing touch to your brand new kitchen. Before choosing your taps, there are a couple of things to consider. MIXER The mixer style has separate levers or handles controlling hot and cold water, but the water is mixed through one single spout. This makes it easier to regulate temperature and avoid scalding with hot water. PLACEMENT The location of your water pipes could restrict whereabouts in your kitchen you can fit taps and sinks. If plumbing work is required you will need to factor this into your overall budget. Also consider the practicalities of their placement; for example, a high, rounded spout design would be impractical under a low kitchen cabinet. WATER PRESSURE Most taps work fine with standard water pressure and most houses have standard pressure - but 'most' is not a guarantee. Check your water system and buy the right taps to ensure a good water flow. DUAL FLOW A useful variation on the mixer, the dual flow has the same design but keeps the two water supplies separate until they come out of the nozzle - an important feature if your cold and hot water pressures are significantly different. The incorrect cupboard was replaced very quickly and another door which our fitter asked for in order to make better use of the space below the oven was also delivered quickly. The surveyor did a good job and the salesman at Thurrock Lakeside retail park was also very helpful. All in all we would recommend Wren but of course we had a very good fitter with lots of good ideas - he even lowered the ceiling to the tops of the cupboards, something that we hadn t even considered. They came and measured our kitchen and then back at the Showroom drew up plans and showed us 3D pictures of what the new kitchen would look like. We took them home and compared them. After turning Mill s Pride into the second largest kitchen manufacturer in the US, the green fields of Yorkshire beckoned the family home. The business was sold and they returned to the UK. Birth of Wren Kitchens On a shopping trip in 2008, the family found themselves looking at fitted kitchens and were shocked by what they discovered - a market that had gone backwards in terms of both quality and choice. Their journey has taken them from Yorkshire to the US and back again but they ve always kept quality and affordability at their heart HYGENA The family s journey began in the 1950s with Newhome Paint in Hull, a flourishing family business, before they branched out into the highly successful Status Discount stores which they ran during the 1960s and 1970s. As their journey progressed, so did the British kitchen which, up until the 1970s, was a jumble of mismatched furniture - cupboards, tables and dressers - with standalone cookers, fridges and washing machines slotted in the gaps. Back then, these were functional rooms for cooking, for eating and for doing the laundry. Grander kitchens with sweeps of beautifully fitted cabinets did exist but only in the wealthiest of homes. Handmade by carpenters and craftsmen, these bespoke fitted kitchens were way beyond the means of the average family. Launch of Hygena All that changed in the 1970s when the family s latest venture Humber Kitchens, later to become Hygena, made the fitted kitchen widely affordable for the very first time. The secret to lowering the price was combining technology and design. Hygena kitchens were made in a brand new high-tech factory in Howden, East Yorkshire. At one point one in three kitchens in the UK was a Hygena kitchen. By manufacturing the kitchens themselves, costs were kept low and quality standards high - the very things that Wren is famous for today. First affordable luxury kitchens It was a groundbreaking formula that changed our homes forever. Hygena s smart and beautiful designs and finishes fuelled the explosion in popularity of the fitted kitchen. As a result the size of British kitchens began to grow and the room s role in our homes started to change. Family life started to revolve around the kitchen and it became the place for everyone to spend time together as well as to eat, entertain, work and play. Wren has always been committed to excellence and to UK manufacturing. All Vogue, Infinity and Infinity Plus kitchen units are manufactured in our three Yorkshire and Lincolnshire-based factories. Our kitchens are delivered to you - by our teams and our curved worktops are also precision cut for your kitchen at the factory. They will discuss how you use your kitchen and what you need from it, and consider every angle. You ll get a stunning 3D plan of your new kitchen as well as a detailed quote so you know exactly what will make up your dream kitchen and how much it will cost - plus you ll get the chance to make changes if you need to. To create the Infinity range, we invested 50 million in manufacturing and spent 25,000 hours on research and development in Our factories have been re-configured to produce new units, finishes and colours and we have created a third manufacturing facility with an additional 800,000 sq ft. 133 DELIVERY INSTALLATION We can usually deliver your brand new kitchen to you within four weeks of your order. Your kitchen will be delivered in a Wren Kitchens lorry, driven by one of our own delivery drivers - it s another way we keep our kitchens affordable. You ll be given a confirmed delivery date a week beforehand and you ll need to make sure you have a clean, dry space to store your kitchen before it s installed - it might take up more space than you think. The driver will need safe and clear access to your premises so that they can park and unload the lorry. From our place to yours, we ll look after your dream kitchen at every step of the way.
