See our complete range of options and download specifications and drawings at DESIGN FLEXIBILITY Screen ceilings can be designed with 100 mm, 150 mm or 200 mm (nominal 4", 6" or 8") panels. Panel size, spacing, angle and color can be used to create a visual focal point or coordinate with other design elements. Screen ceilings are available in a variety of colors. Custom colors available upon request. Screen ceilings with pivoted carriers are ideal for sloped ceilings. DURABLE CONSTRUCTION Luxalon screen ceilings are manufactured from durable roll-formed aluminum and finished with a scuff-resistant polyester paint to provide a long, low maintenance service life. Three suspension systems, moveable, fixed and pivot, are engineered to accommodate a variety of job site conditions. 100 mm and 150 mm (nominal 4" and 6") panels are available for exterior applications. EASY PLENUM ACCESS Screen ceilings installed with Luxalon s moveable carrier system provide easy access to lighting and HVAC components in the ceiling plenum. Panels are simply slid along the carrier system to gain access. The moveable system facilitates maintenance of mechanical components and reduces damage to panels over the life of the ceiling. IDEAL FOR RENOVATIONS Luxalon screen ceilings are ideal for renovation projects. Fixed or moveable carriers can be mechanically fastened to existing T-grid, or renovation clips and hanger wire can be used to suspend the carriers from the ceiling grid. QUICK INSTALLATION Screen ceilings are designed with a minimum number of parts for quick and easy installation. Movable, fixed and pivot carrier systems can be installed in combination. Carrier systems are suspended by hanger wire in the conventional manner. Panels install in carriers by simply sliding into position

4 SCREEN PAGE TITLE CONFIGURATIONS ELEVATION CHANGES Luxalon screen ceilings utilizing the pivot carrier system are ideal for projects requiring changes in ceiling height. Ceilings can be angled to 45º. Pyramids, inverted pyramids, truncated pyramids, truncated inverted pyramids and other geometric shapes can be easily designed and installed with Hunter Douglas screen ceiling system. Pyramids Truncated Pyramids SPECIAL SITUATIONS Screen ceilings can be used to create special patterns and borders. Basket weave and herringbone are two typical patterns used to create special ceiling or border treatments. Radial applications can also be accommodated by using standard ceiling T-grid and a special pivot clip. V-100 panels are available for interior and exterior applications. Clips to lock panels into position are available for exterior, moveable carrier and pivot carrier applications. ACCESSORIES A special panel splice allows visually unlimited panel length. The splice is simply slid in place over the over-lapped area of two panels. 6 CARRIER SYSTEMS MOVEABLE CARRIER Hunter Douglas moveable carrier system is ideal for use where quick, easy access to the plenum area is important. Panels slide along the carrier system to provide access to the plenum area. Panels can be spaced 100 mm, 150 mm or 200 mm (nominal 4", 6" or 8") on-center. The Luxalon moveable carrier system is designed for interior applications with flat ceilings and can accommodate panel lengths from 2' to 12'. Carriers are available in lengths of 5 m (16.4'). Maximum on-center measurement between carriers is 60". Main tee cross bracing is used to provide system stability to every 60". Panels can be spaced 100 mm, 150 mm, or 200 mm (nominal 4", 6" or 8") on-center. 50 mm (1.968") or 75 mm (2.953") panel spacing can be accomplished by fastening staggered 100 mm (3.937") or 150 mm (5.906") carriers together. The fixed carrier system can accommodate panel lengths from 2' to 20'. Only V100 or V150 panels may be used for exterior applications, in which case a special screen panel clip must be used to lock panels in place. Fixed carriers are available in lengths of 5 m (16.4'). 7 CARRIER SYSTEMS PIVOT CARRIER Hunter Douglas pivot carrier system is designed for projects with sloped ceilings. System flexibility makes simple changes of ceiling level, as well as complicated geometric shapes, easy to design and install. Pivot carrier systems accommodate ceiling angels to 45º. Panels attach to free-swinging screen panel clips and can be spaced 100, 150, or 200 mm (nominal 4", 6" or 8") on-center. The Luxalon pivot carrier system is designed for interior applications and can accommodate panel lengths from 2' to 20'. Pivot carriers are available in lengths to 12'. Maximum on-center measurement between carriers is 48". Cross tee bracing every 48" is used to provide system stability. 8 SPECIAL APPLICATIONS RENOVATION INSTALLATION SYSTEM Luxalon screen ceilings can be used in projects with existing T-grid ceiling systems. Fixed and moveable carrier systems can be mechanically fastened directly to the existing T-grid. Grid clips and hanger wire can also be used to suspend carriers from the ceiling grid. Existing ceiling panels are often painted a dark color to create the illusion of depth for this type of installation. Screen ceilings provide dramatic lighting effects when used to baffle natural or electric light sources. Depending upon the desired lighting effect, the area above the ceiling and the mechanical components are painted white or a dark color. Artificial lighting concepts frequently used are listed below. 9 SYSTEM COMPONENTS HEATING AND VENTILATION SYSTEMS Heating and ventilation systems for screen ceilings are typically designed with drop and return air supplies located above the ceiling plane. Duct work and diffusers should be suspended separately from the building structure above. Diffusers are typically located 18" to 24" above the ceiling. Locating diffusers too close to the ceiling can disrupt the diffuser s throw pattern. HVAC Unit INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS Luxalon screen ceiling systems are simple to install. The table and drawing to the right provide recommended carrier spacing, hanger wire spacing, and maximum cantilever for each carrier type and module size.
