5 After lunch we headed to the garden. Kris Jarantoski, Exec. VP of CBG welcomed us with an introduction to the Garden.

6 Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Plant Conservation Science Center Brand-new facility featuring nine state-of-the-art research laboratories, the Lendardt Plant Science Library, and the Dixon National Tallgrass Prairie Seed Bank. The Center is built on stilts and a rain garden collects run-off water.

7 This is the ROOF! 16,000 sq. ft. Green Roof Garden featuring native plants. Researchers are figuring out which natives are best suited for similar climates. Solar panels off-set some energy costs.
