3 Here again we used a waist band with Velcro to attach the swags to the medallion posts. 3

4 The secret to mounting a treatment like this is to use combination mount boards. Below you will see L and T board configurations along with the single small mount board. These special mount board configurations allow for mounting vertically and horizontally using the same mount board. The treatment shown above is the perfect example using the L, T and small single mount board. 4

The flat horizontal area on the board allows the installer to place an angle iron/l These mount boards are covered in face fabric or lining and the swag and often the jabot/cascade or bell/horn or even the panels are attached to the same mount board. Often I cover these boards separately before screwing them together. 5

6 This T board is used when mounting box swags where the bulk from the swag on the down leg or vertical board would push the return of the jabot/cascade or the bell/horn out of position (vertical hang). This mount board solves this issue as well as provided a place for one of the two angle irons or L brackets when needed. Like the L boards these T boards are covered in face or lining fabrics before mounting the treatments on to them. 6

7 Th The L and T boards can be modified to accommodate different woodwork situations. By pushing the down/vertical leg to the front of the horizontal top board the thickness of most woodwork can be accommodated and the ideal mounting position can be maintained. All mount board are usually covered with face fabric or lining prior to screwing them together. This allows for the use of different fabrics on each board if needed. 7

8 Using a small mount board alone to eliminate the post provided with the medallions. Here medallions are installed on small mount boards instead of the post provided. Use Kirsch hidden brackets # 5618, 5619, 5620E. 8

9 Cut mount boards no wider than the width of the medallion. Attach the bracket to the top of the mount board. These scarf swags and cascades are mounted to small boards and the medallions are attached with the Kirsch hidden brackets. Returns hang crisp and straight to the wall when you use this method. 9

10 Using rings as decorative hardware is quick and easy just twist the screw eye flush to the mount board face, then using a washer and wood screw attach it to the mount board. 10

11 This project featured the decorative ring hardware with center jabots and cascades through them. 11

12 The diagonal corner mount was raised using angle irons bolted together to hold a mount board for the swags to staple on to. The swags and jabots were mounted on three pieces of lumber creating the hooded affect. The decorative pole was attached using those same hidden brackets from Kirsch. Then the panel was Velcro over top of the pole and stapled on the mount board behind. 12

13 When attaching medallions to pelmets/pendants or soft cornices use the metal or nylon bolts. I like to use cardboard supports directly under the areas where the medallions are placed for support. When using metal crests I suggest using a plywood, OSB or firmaflex structure. Many of these crests are very heavy and need substantial 13

14 Double pelmet layering the pole between so a final can be used where the space was not truly available. The wood pole is simply screwed to face of the mount board and the second pelmet over top of the pole and stapled to the mount board. Metal tiles from Home Goods were used to decorate this hard cornice. An outer frame was created over the face of the cornice and the metal tiles were attached using cup hooks. Using crystals from a chandelier supplier we added elegance. 14
