Before installing your showers and tapware it is important to know what water pressure your home has. New building regulations require mains pressure to be limited to 500kPa maximum static pressure at any outlet within a building Australian Standard AS/NZ , clause All Methven products are designed in accordance with this regulation. Households which do not meet the requirements defined by AS/NZS can damage the product and void warranty. While most Methven products are designed to operate on mains pressure installations, select products are able to operate at low or all pressures. 1. HOW DO I CHECK MY WATER PRESSURE? Pressure Limited Valve To meet the requirements as per AS/NZ buildings should have a Pressure Limiting Valve (PLV) installed. These valves are usually accessible and installed near the water meter or water supply to the building. Contact Your Plumber If you are unsure if your water supply is properly limited. It s always safest to contact your plumber to check. 2. So when you take on a bathroom project, be sure to consider the things that are most important to you with the help of this quick guide. 1. Decide what type of bathroom you need: When planning your new bathroom it s important to begin by thinking about how it will be used and by whom. People s requirements can often be very different: Family bathroom: In a family bathroom you want to create a space that caters for growing families. 2. Make a list: Before planning your layout think carefully about what you like and dislike about your current bathroom. Make a list and prioritise which features you d most like to see in your new bathroom. Maybe it s an oversize walkin shower, a large vanity with two sinks, a separate enclosure for your toilet, or a large free-standing bath. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Subject to Methven s Warranty Conditions set out in this document, Methven s Warranty applies if a Good has a material defect which arose in the course of manufacture. (b) You may submit a Methven Warranty claim to Methven; - by mail [16 Gipps Street, Collingwood, Melbourne VIC 3066] - by customercare@au.methven.com, - by calling Customer Care Australia on Ph: Methven may require you to return the Good, and if your claim is under the Methven Warranty (and not the Australian Consumer Law), you must pay the expenses for such return. (c) Under the Methven Warranty, Methven can choose to (at its cost) either repair or replace the Good at an equivalent value of the product purchased if after assessing your warranty claim it is determined that the product has or contains a material defect which arose during manufacture. Methven will pay the expense for shipment of the repaired or replaced Good back to you. (d) Methven s Warranty does not cover any claim that in the opinion of an authorised Service Agent or Methven was caused by faulty installation or use of the products in conjunction with products of another manufacturer or from some other cause other than a manufacturing defect. Methven reserves the right to charge a service fee for each service staff attending the premises where the Good has been installed, if it is determined that the claim is not covered by Methven s Warranty. (e) A Lifetime Replacement Warranty only applies for the lifetime of the original purchaser. (f) Methven s Warranty Statement does not apply to any other brands marketed and sold by Methven, such as Deva, Steriline, Starkie, Nefa and Shower Skincare products. WARRANTY CONDITIONS Showers 25 Years (replacement only) 1 Year (replacement only) Tapware 5 Years (labour) / 15 Years (parts) Finishes All Goods 5 Years (coating on all finishes other than Chrome Plated or Stainless Steel) The Methven Warranty set out in Methven s Warranty Statement above is subject to the following conditions, and will not apply if: (a) In relation to domestic or residential Goods, you are not the original purchaser. (b) The Good was not new on the date of purchase or if proof of purchase details are not provided. (c) There is a failure to follow Methven s installation instructions, if evidence cannot be provided that the Good was installed by a licensed plumber or the Good is used other than in accordance with Methven specifications. This includes operating conditions specified for temperature and pressure. (d) Repair work is performed on the relevant Good by a person other than Methven, its authorized service agents or any plumber who has not received authorisation from Methven prior to proceeding with the work. (e) Applicable statutes or regulations relating to public health are not observed or the Good was damaged by misuse, accident or neglect. (f) Standards or regulations governing sewerage, plumbing, water supply and gas applicable to the location of the particular plumbing installation are not observed. This includes (without limitation) the Australian Standards (AS/NZ Plumbing and Drainage Part 1: Water services) which specify that water pressure must be limited to 500kpa on any new home, extension or renovation. The recommended continuous operating pressure for tapware is between kpa (maximum static pressure must not exceed 500kpa). (g) Harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners have been used on any finishes of the Good. (h) The Good contains excessive debris (in-line filters must be installed). (i) The Good has discolouration, corrosion or rusting from hard water and/or other environmental factors. (j) Adequate access to products, fittings and fixtures to undertake Methven Warranty repairs has not been provided. Methven will not be responsible for any consequential damage or costs where adequate access to product fittings and fixtures is not accessible.
