6.2. Tips About Glass Ceramic Hobs Glass ceramic surface is heatproof and is not affected by big temperature differences. Do not use the glass ceramic surface as a place of storage or as a cutting board. Use only the saucepans and pans with machined bottoms. Sharp edges create scratches on the surface. Do not use aluminum vessels and saucepans. Aluminum damages the glass ceramic surface. Spills may damage the glass ceramic surface and cause fire. Do not use vessels with concave or convex bottoms. Use only the saucepans and pans with flat bottoms. They ensure easier heat transfer. If the diameter of the saucepan is too small, energy will be wasted Saucepan Selection For induction hobs, use only vessels suitable for induction cooking. Saucepan test Use following methods to test whether your saucepan is compatible with the induction hob or not. 1. Your saucepan is compatible if its bottom holds magnet. 2. Your saucepan is compatible if "" does not flash when you place your saucepan on cooking zone and start the hob. TR 11

Operating noisy Some noises may arise from the induction hob. These sounds are normal and a part of induction cooking. Noise becomes prominent in high temperature levels. Alloy of the saucepan can cause noise. In low levels, a regular on/off sound can be heard because of the operating principles. Noise can be heard if an empty saucepan is heated. When you put water or food in it, this sound will clear away. The noise of the fan that cools electric system can be heard. If the surface of the touch control panel is exposed to intense vapor, entire control system may become deactivated and give error signal. Keep the surface of the touch control panel clean. Erroneous operation may be observed. Selected level may drop. However, this condition cannot be seen on the indicator. TR 18

7. PRODUCT USEABLE ACCESSORIES 7.1. Saucepan Recognition-Focusing System In induction cooking, only the area covered by the vessel on the relevant cooking zone is energized. Vessel's bottom is recognized by the system and only this area is heated automatically. Cooking stops if the cooking vessel is lifted from the cooking zone during cooking. Selected cooking zone and "" symbol flashes alternately. For induction hobs, use only vessels suitable for induction cooking. Your saucepan is compatible if its bottom holds magnet or there is induction symbol under vessel. For the 21 cm large cooking zone you can use saucepan, If you use other cooking zones(big cooking zone with small saucepan),you will spend more electricity. Selecting cooking zone suitable to the vessel Large cooking zone Large cooking zone Large cooking zone Normal cooking zone Ø28cmduo Ø24cm Small cooking zone Large cooking zone Automatically fits to the saucepan. Small cooking zone Used for slow cookings (sauces, creams) Used to prepare small portions or portions based on number of persons Do not allow any object to drop on the hob. Even small objects such as a saltshaker may damage the hob. Do not use cracked hobs. Water may leak through these cracks and cause short circuit. In case of any kind of damage on the surface (egg., visible cracks), switch off the product immediately to minimize the risk of electric shock. TR 19

8. INDUCTION WORKING PRINCIBLE Operating principles: Induction hob heats directly the cooking vessel as a feature of its operating principles. Therefore, it has various advantages when compared to other hob types. It operates more efficiently and the hob surface does not heat up. Advantages of Induction Cooking Fast cooking: Heat is generated directly in the vessel thanks to the induction technology. Heating without losses: Energy is transferred by the magnetic field to the vessel directly. But at gas cooker or vitroceramic hob energy is firstly transfer to heating energy and then this energy is transfer to the vessel. Safety: Induction hob is equipped with superior safety systems that will provide you maximum usage safety. Surface of hob is cooler than the other type of hobs. Because surface is heated up just because of vessel not any other heating source. Also there are thermal sensors to measure surface. These sensors protect vessel from fire. Pan detection: In induction cooking, only the area covered by the vessel on the relevant cooking zone is energised. Vessel's bottom is recognised by the system and only this area is heated automatically. Cooking stops if the cooking vessel is lifted from the cooking zone during cooking 8.1 INDUCTION CONTROL SYSTEM: High frequency and sinusoidal current flows through coil and this current generates magnetic field. Eddy current is generated bottom of the vessel because of magnetic field. Finally vessel is heated up by this eddy current. After mains voltage is rectified, converter gives high frequency current to the induction coil accordig to switching frequency. (see figure1). Figure1: Induction control system TR 20

Resonance converter: Aim of the resonanceconverter design is making switching at no voltage and no current. Sharing energy between capacity and inductance provides power adjusting. Maximum power is transfered at resonance ferquency. There are two type of converter serial, paralel and serialparalel.. Half bridge serial resonance converter: After high frequency square wave gives to coil, inductance of coil and capacitors between rectified phase and notr generates sinusoidal current because of resonance. Figure 2:Half bridge serial resonance converter: Single switch parallel resonance converter (Quasi Resonance): Resonance capacitor and coil are paralel to each other in this method and only one switch is used at this topology. Figure3:Single switch parallel resonance converter TR 21

Power circuit is supply with rectified DC voltage. According to CFILTER value, characteristic of supply voltage is defined. Every switching cycle, amplitute and shape of current which flows over IGBT and coil is defined by supply voltage. 8.2 How to use the hob There are 9 levels and boost level in this induction cooker model. If there is no vessel on the cooking zone, " " symbol is display on the related cooking zone display. Every level has a maximum working time. If over heating is occurred on the related zone, Zone is switched of automatically. Residual heat on the zone is displayed as h or H symbol according to temperature. You can find detailed information in user manual. 8.3 Graphics of induction hob. Graphics give system behaviour when water in the vessel is increasing from 25 C to 90 C. Note:Graphics may change accoding to room temperature, weather condition and pressure Note: For power information multiply graphic data with mm zone at level 9 with Paksan marked vessel TR 22

145mm zone at level 9 with Silargan marked vessel 180mm left front zone at level 9 with Paksan marked vessel TR 23

180mm left front zone at level 9 with Silargan marked vessel High-Speed Heating The most important side of induction heating is transferring heat to heated material with high speed and precision. Heating Without Loss The major part of the heat is transferred to the pot through magnetic field directly with induction heating. However, at gas or conventional electric heaters (including halogen), first electric energy is converted to thermal energy then thermal energy is directed to the pot. But meantime, without transferring major part of the energy to the load, it warms up the environment. It is certain that the heated pot and food will radiate and heat the environment as well. The induction heating method will increase the temperature of the environment less as compared with other gas and electric heating methods. Safe Heating Induction heating, pursuant to its working principle, heat only the ferromagnetic materials. Since cooktop surface is only heated by the heat transmitted by the bottom surface of the pot, cooktop surface will be cooler and safer. Besides, thanks to the sensors which are measuring the temperature of the surface of cooktop cells, the system will be operating in safe mode when a pot is forgotten on the cooktop or there are such cases like oil ignition etc. Pot Detection By the help of its pot detection feature, when a pot is put on a cooktop cell, energy is conserved by not heating the cooktop cell unnecessarily.
