2 The assembly of a modern and universal access system based on outdoor BKT Elektronik distribution cabinets is possible thanks to the application of cutting - edge solutions in compliance with Polish as well as international telecommunication standards. Outdoor cabinets constitute a protection of passive and active devices mounted inside in every weather condition. Double-wall structure protects against heat, cold, rain, snow, as well as not permitted access. Due to its IK10 impact rating, the structure also protects against mechanical damage. Their ingress protection has been rated to IP55. The cabinets are made of 2 mm aluminum sheet and are coated with outdoor paint. They are estimated to be usable for 30 years as a result of tests conducted in an independent research lab. 3 External and internal tight cabinets, heating and cooling systems Protection of equipment against changeable whether conditions and against acts of vandalism and theft is a very important issue. External and internal cabinets are fitted both in generally available places and places with an adverse effect and must provide protection for the equipment inside. BKT cabinets are designed and made to meet all relevant requirements for cabinets to be placed inside and on the outside of buildings. Requirements to be met by external casing are contained in the following standards: ź Series of environmental tests for environmental conditions as per PN-ETSI EN , class 4.1 for cold tests Ae - PN-EN :2007 and dry heat Be - PN- EN :2007, Be sample. ź Simulated solar radiation at ground level and guidance for solar radiation testing PN-EN ; ź Acoustic tests - PN-EN-ISO 11200; ź Vibration tests - PN-EN ; ź Mechanical resistance tests PN-EN ; ź IP rating (degree of protection) PN-EN Cabinets are made to standards specified in the following certificates: ź ISO 9001:2008 ź ISO 14001:2004 ź EN ISO ź EN ISO Application of EU standards compliant procedures in the making of the structures as reflected in ISO certificates results in the external casing having a long life of up to 30 years as confirmed by the independent Testing Laboratory. IP55 external distribution cabinets The changeable environmental conditions affecting adversely the electronics require that casing manufacturers use corrosion resistant materials and ensure appropriate rating (IP55) providing protection against dust or liquid penetration, unauthorised entry or mechanical damage (IK10). External distribution cabinets are made of aluminium sheet metal with standard RAL7035 coating; they have a double wall (air insulation) ensuring free air flow in the space. 7 Underground plinths for single-and double-jacket distribution cabinets For the purpose of permanent installation of an outdoor cabinet in the ground, BKT offers bases adopted to each type of a cabinet. The line of bases matches both single- and double-shell cabinets of the same outer dimensions (width/depth). 8 Positioning of outdoor telecommunications cabinet type MFG IP55 A series of bases provided for MFG cabinets serving as a perfect component for their permanent installation in the ground. Each MFG series cabinet has its corresponding base of a specific size. Therefore, BKT offers ventilation systems, air conditioners and heaters necessary to heat the cabinet chamber in colder periods and to cool the devices down (in periods of increased temperatures) to a safe temperature, i.e. to the max operating temperature of a given device specified in technical documentation of the product, depending on total power losses of these devices. The cooling system installed in the cabinet is intended to control the rotation speed of the fans in an intelligent way with respect to variable temperatures inside the cabinet. The rotation speed of the fans can be programmed depending on the preset temperature in the cabinet. A variable rotation speed contributes also to lower energy consumption and reduces a noise emission within the cabinet. 10 Internal industrial cabinets IP54, accessories BKT-IP54 Expected operating conditions of devices make manufacturers of enclosures increase technological and performance requirements. Indoor BKT IP54 industrial cabinets were designed to firmly secure their internal equipment. In many cases, locations of the cabinets arranged by the designers include very dusty places and production halls with unfavourable operating conditions which affect electronic components. Wherever it is not possible to air-condition rooms or install volume extinguishing systems, e.g. in historical sites the conditions are imposed by a restorer indoor BKT industrial cabinets of IP55 protection degree fit perfectly. This results from individual needs of our customers who, in many cases, require a wall designed with special reinforcement and openings necessary to mount an air-conditioner or filtration grills with fans responsible for cooling devices installed in the cabinet. Walls for installation of an air-conditioner are customised to individual cooling demands of the cabinet. If the customer requires a cabinet without an air-conditioner, the wall needs to be ordered separately. 9

12 Heating and cooling systems for internal industrial cabinets As cabinets are installed in various places and with different equipment fitted inside, stable ambient conditions inside the cabinet must be ensured. For this purpose, we offer systems for heating and cooling the inside of the cabinet. The heating system consists of heaters with air flow controlled with a thermostat or hygrostat; cooling is performed with air conditioners. Air conditioners are to be selected taking into account the power of equipment fitted inside the cabinet. Make sure that the power of an air conditioner is not more than 20% of the total power of the equipment provided inside the cabinet. Appropriate power of an air conditioner compared to the total power loss of the equipment inside the cabinet will ensure trouble-free operation and an optimum temperature of 35 C inside the cabinet (default setting). 14 Environmental Condition Monitoring System EC335 4DC Environmental Condition Controller The controller is designed to monitor environmental parameters (temperature, humidity, etc.) in a telecommunications cabinet or in small rooms. Its purpose is to warn users about a potential hazard and report any failures. 28 analogue sensors, 36 sensors with a potential-contact output and two signalling devices can be connected to the controller.
