General Safety Instructions IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS READ CAREFULLY AND KEEP FOR FUTURE REFERENCE Read this manual thoroughly before first use, even if you are familiar with this type of product. The safety precautions enclosed herein reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury when correctly adhered to. Keep the manual in a safe place for future reference, along with the completed warranty card, purchase receipt and carton. If applicable, pass these instructions on to the next owner of the appliance. Always follow basic safety precautions and accident prevention measures when using an electrical appliance, including the following: Electrical safety and cord handling Voltage: Make sure your outlet voltage and circuit frequency correspond to the voltage stated on the appliance rating label. If it does not match, contact our after sales support line and do not use the appliance. Connection: Insert the plug properly into an earthed mains socket. Make sure the socket is within easy reach so the plug can easily be removed if necessary. Electrical circuit: To avoid an electrical circuit overload do not use a high wattage appliance on the same circuit with the slow cooker. Do not immerse: To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or the electric base in water or other liquid. If the base is accidentally immersed, immediately unplug the power plug, dry the appliance and have it checked by qualified service personnel. Protect from moisture: Do not expose the electrical connections to water. Do not use the appliance, or touch the plug, with wet or damp hands, on a damp floor or when the electric base is wet. Power cord: A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. However, if an extension cord must be used, make sure its marked electrical rating is the same as the product. Arrange the extended cord so it will not drape over the table or benchtop where it can be pulled on or tripped over accidentally. Do not kink, bend, squash, strain or damage the power cord and protect it from sharp edges and heat. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or benchtop, or touch hot surfaces. Damage: Check the power cord regularly for visible damage. If it is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its authorised service centres or similarly qualified personnel in order to avoid any hazards. Do not pick up or operate an appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. In case of damage, call our after sales support line for advice on repair or return of the damaged product. 5
General Safety Instructions (Cont.) Unattended: Do not leave the appliance unattended when plugged in. After use: Turn the control knob to OFF and unplug the appliance after use. Wait until it has cooled completely before attempting to move or clean it. Disconnect: Always unplug the power cord when the appliance is not in use. When unplugging the appliance, grip by the plug, do not pull by the cord. RCD: Unless your home is already fitted with a residual current device (safety switch), we recommend installing an RCD with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA to provide additional safety protection when using electrical appliances. See your electrician for professional advice. Usage conditions and restrictions Indoor domestic use only: This appliance is intended for indoor domestic use only. Do not use it outdoors. Intended purpose: This product is only intended for the preparation, cooking and serving of domestic quantities of food. It is not intended for use with any non-food materials or products. Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended purpose, and only use it as described in this manual. Any other use may cause fire, electric shock or injury. Accessories: Do not use accessories not supplied with this product. Improper use or installation may result in the risk of fire, electric shock or injury. Usage restrictions: This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children: Supervise children to ensure they do not play with the appliance. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. Location: To ensure efficient operation and avoid overturning, always place the appliance on a level and stable work surface. Protect from heat: Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or near a heated oven. CAUTION: To prevent damage and avoid an electric shock hazard, never attempt to cook in the electric base. Only cook in one of the removable ceramic pots. Liability: We accept no liability for any damages or injury caused by improper use, incorrect handling or noncompliance with these instructions. 6
General Safety Instructions (Cont.) Ceramic pots and glass lid Handle with care: The ceramic pots and glass lid are breakable. Handle with care. Temperature changes: Avoid sudden, extreme temperature changes, such as adding refrigerated foods into a heated ceramic pot. Do not place a hot lid or ceramic pot into cold water, or onto a wet surface. Do not subject to impacts: When washing up, take care not to hit the ceramic pot and glass lid against taps or other hard surfaces. Damaged cookware: Do not use the lid or a ceramic pot if it is chipped, cracked or severely scratched. Avoid harsh cleansers: Do not use abrasive cleansers or metal scouring pads. Protect your benchtop: The bottom of the ceramic pots are rough and can cause damage to benchtop surfaces. Always use caution. The ceramic pots and the glass lid can become very hot. Always use caution. Do not place directly on any unprotected surface or benchtop. Microwave use: The ceramic pots are microwave safe and ovenproof, but never heat the pots when empty. The glass lid is NOT microwave safe; never place the lid in a microwave oven, on a cooktop or in a heated oven. CAUTION: HOT! Hot surfaces: Accessible surfaces (of the base, pot and lid) become very hot during use. Do not touch hot surfaces. Always use handles or knobs, and always use caution. Hot contents: Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids. Removing the lid: When removing the lid, tilt it so that the opening faces away from you to avoid being burned by steam. Removing the ceramic pots: The sides of the base of the slow cooker get very warm because the heating elements are located here. Use the handles on the base, if necessary. Always use oven mitts when removing the ceramic pot. Food safety WARNING: Food must be hot enough to prevent bacterial growth before using the keep warm (WARM) setting. Only use the keep warm setting after the food has been thoroughly cooked. Do not reheat food on the WARM setting. If food has been cooked and then refrigerated, reheat it on LOW or HIGH, then turn to WARM to keep it warm. 7

Keep the original packaging carton and materials in a safe place. It will help prevent any damage if the product needs to be transported in the future, and you can use it to store the appliance when it is not in use. In the event the carton is to be disposed of, please recycle all packaging materials where possible. Plastic wrapping can be a suffocation hazard for babies and young children, so ensure all packaging materials are out of their reach and disposed of safely. Inspect all parts of the appliance for visual damage. Unwind the power cord to its full length and inspect the cord and plugs for damage. Do not use the appliance if the appliance or its cord have been damaged or are not working properly. In case of damage, contact our after sales support line for advice. Read this manual to familiarise yourself with all the parts and operating principles of your new 3 in 1 Slow Cooker. Pay particular attention to the safety instructions on the previous pages. Carefully wash the glass lid and the three ceramic pots with a soft cloth in warm water and a little dish detergent to remove any dust that may have settled on the parts during transport. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Your new 3 in 1 Slow Cooker is now ready for use. CAUTION! Never immerse the electric base in water for cleaning, or expose the electrical connections to water or other liquid. 9
Instructions Using the slow cooker Select the pot size appropriate for your recipe (Fig.1). NOTE: The pot size is printed on the bottom of each ceramic pot. Place the prepared food into the pot according to your recipe (Fig.2). Fig.1 Fig.2 Ceramic pot capacity For best results, fill the ceramic pot at least half-full but no more than 2.5cm from the rim. If only half-filled, check whether the food is cooked 1 to 2 hours earlier than recommended in the recipe. Place the pot onto the base and the glass lid on top (Fig.3). Plug the appliance into the power supply and switch on power at the outlet. Select the heat setting: LOW or HIGH (Fig.4). Fig.3 Fig.4 CAUTION! Only use the WARM setting to keep your food warm after the food has been thoroughly cooked. Do NOT use the WARM setting for cooking or reheating. 10
Instructions (Cont.) Select the appropriate capacity setting: 1.5L, 3.5L, or 5.5L (Fig.5). Cook your food for the length of time required in your recipe. Some slow cooker recipes for the different pot sizes start on page 15. At the end of the cooking time, turn the temperature control to the WARM setting to keep your food warm until serving. After you have finished using the slow cooker, turn the temperature control to the OFF setting and unplug the appliance from the power supply (Fig.6). Fig.5 Fig.6 Carefully take the ceramic pot off the base for serving. The pot is hot! Use oven mitts and place it on a trivet to protect sensitive surfaces (Fig.7). Make sure the pot and lid have cooled down sufficiently before washing them in a dishwasher or by hand (Fig.8). Fig.7 Fig.8 WARNING: Electric Shock Hazard! Disconnect the power before cleaning the appliance. Do not immerse the cord, plug or electric base in any liquid. Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or electric shock. 11
Instructions (Cont.) Slow cooking tips For best results, fill the ceramic pot at least half-full but no more than 2.5cm from the rim. If only half-filled, check whether the food is cooked 1 to 2 hours earlier than recommended in the recipe Stirring is not necessary when slow cooking. In fact, removing the glass lid results in major heat loss and the cooking time may need to be extended. However, if cooking on HIGH, stir occasionally. For recipes that call for all day cooking, prepare the food the night before. Place ingredients in the ceramic pot, cover and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, place the ceramic pot on the electric base of the slow cooker and select the settings to cook. Do not use frozen uncooked meat in the slow cooker. Thaw any meat or poultry before slow cooking. Some foods are not suited for extended cooking in the slow cooker. Pasta, seafood, milk, cream, or sour cream should be added 2 hours before serving. Evaporated milk or condensed soups are perfect for the slow cooker. The higher the fat content of the meat, the less liquid is needed. If cooking meat with a high fat content, place thick onion slices underneath so the meat will not sit on (and cook in) the fat. Slow cookers allow for very little evaporation. If making your favourite soup, stew or sauce, reduce the liquid called for in the original recipe. If too thick, liquid can be added later. If cooking a vegetable-type casserole, there will need to be liquid in the recipe to prevent scorching on the sides of the ceramic pot. Foods will continue to increase in temperature after desired temperature has been reached. 12
FAQs and Troubleshooting Guide Problem Food is undercooked. The food is not cooked after cooking the amount of time recommended in my recipe. My meal was overcooked. Why? Possible Cause and Solution Was food on the Keep Warm setting? Do not use the Keep Warm setting to cook food, always cook on the Low or High heat setting. Was power interrupted? If so, reset the appliance. Did you select the Low heat setting but your recipe was based on a High heat setting? Was the appliance properly covered? Make sure the lid is placed correctly on top of the ceramic bowl during cooking. This can be due to voltage variations, which are commonplace everywhere, or altitude. Slight fluctuations in power do not have a noticeable effect on most appliances, but they may affect the slow cooking times. You will learn through experience if a shorter or longer time is needed. Allow sufficient time and select the appropriate heat setting. Was the ceramic pot at least half-full? The slow cooker has been designed to thoroughly cook food in a filled pot. If the ceramic pot is only half-filled, check whether your food is done 1 2 hours earlier than the time in your recipe. Foods will continue to increase in temperature after the desired temperature has been reached. 13
Other Useful Information Care and cleaning WARNING: Electric Shock Hazard! Disconnect the power before cleaning the appliance. Do not immerse the cord, plug or electric base in any liquid. Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or electric shock. When the ceramic pot and lid have cooled sufficiently, wash them in a dishwasher or by hand in warm, soapy water using a cloth, sponge or soft, non-metal brush. Rinse and dry well. Wipe the inside and outside of the electric base with a damp cloth only, dry thoroughly. Never immerse it in water; never splash it with water. CAUTION! Do NOT use alkaline, harsh chemical or alcohol based cleansers for cleaning any part of the appliance. Storage Before packing the 3 in 1 Slow Cooker away for storage, ensure it is unplugged from the power supply and has completely cooled down, is clean and dry and the lid is closed. We recommend storing all parts of the appliance in the original carton, which will protect it from dust. Store the 3 in 1 Slow Cooker in a clean and dry place, out of children's reach. Do not wrap the cord around the appliance during storage. Service and repair The unit has no user-serviceable parts contained within. Do not attempt to repair, disassemble or modify the appliance. If the appliance requires repair or service, contact our after sales support centre for advice. IMPORTANT! Trying to repair the appliance yourself, undertaking incorrect repairs or making modifications will expose you to considerable danger and will void the warranty. 14
