Do not operate or allow the oven to be operated with the door open. b. ake the following safety checks on all ovens to be serviced before activating the magnetron or other microwave source, and make repairs as necessary:. Interlock Operation 2. Proper Door Closing 3. Seal and Sealing Surfaces (Arcing, ear and Other Damage) 4. Damage to or Loosening of Hinges and Latches 5. Evidence of Dropping or Abuse c. Before turning on microwave power for any service test or inspection within the microwave generating compartments, check the magnetron, waveguide or transmission line, and cavity for proper alignment, integrity and connections. d. Any defective or misadjusted components in the interlock, monitor, door seal, and microwave generation and transmission systems shall be repaired, replaced, or adjusted by procedures described in service manual before the oven is released to the owner. e. A microwave leakage check to verify compliance with the CSA should be performed on each oven prior to release to the owner. f. Do not attempt to operate the oven if the door glass is broken. Fahrenheit ( F) to Celsius ( C) Conversion The temperature is preset in Fahrenheit; however, it can be changed to Celsius. To Change: Press OPTIOS and then to toggle temperature between Fahrenheit and Celsius settings. hen in Fahrenheit, F follows the oven temperature. hen in Celsius, C follows the oven temperature A Adjust Oven Temperature Calibration:. Press OPTIOS and then 6 to set the calibration. 2. On double ovens only, press UPPE OVE or LOE OVE to select oven. Each oven calibration can be independently set. 3. 2 icrowave Oven Power Output Test The power output of the magnetron can be measured by the following tap water temperature rise test. OTES: Be sure oven cavity is clean and cool (not used recently). The magnetron output will be lower with lower line voltages.. Fill a glass beaker with 0 oz (300 ml) of tap water. Stir the water with a thermometer (digital recommended) and record the temperature. This starting temperature of the water should be between 50 F and 75 F (0 C and 24 C). 2. Place the beaker and water in the center of the microwave oven. Operate on HIGH power for 30 seconds. 3. hen the microwave oven is finished, stir the thermometer through the water and record the temperature. 4. Subtract the cold water temperature from the warm water temperature to get the temperature rise. ormal range is shown in the following table. Upon replacement, immediately return old electronic oven control using the mailing label supplied with each new control. For combo oven, the failure code is displayed on the side of the display that corresponds to the oven with faulty part (microwave oven = right side display; lower oven = left side display). Is the oven in Sabbath ode? If so, SAB will appear in the digital display. Press OPTIOS and 7 to end Sabbath mode. This will return the oven to BAKE mode for an untimed bake. Unplug oven or disconnect power before performing the following checks: A potential cause of a control not functioning is corrosion on connections. Observe connections and check for continuity with an ohmmeter. All tests/checks should be made with a VO or DV having a sensitivity of 20,000Ω per volt DC or greater. Check all connections before replacing components, looking for broken or loose wires, failed terminals, or wires not pressed into connectors far enough. Damaged harness must be entirely replaced. Do not rework a harness. esistance checks must be made with power cord unplugged from outlet, and with wiring harness or connectors disconnected. To Enter Diagnostics ode: Before proceeding with any corrective action, perform the following steps to enter the Diagnostics mode.. To recall last failure code, if not displayed, press the OFF key to place the oven in an idle state. 2. Enter Diagnostics mode and verify error codes by pressing OFF, OFF, STAT. 3. If control does not enter Diagnostics, repeat steps. Screen : ain clock hours display shows latch state in first display position, and door state in second position. ain clock minutes display shows the model select state associated with control system. ain temperature display shows the cavity temperature. Lower text line shows software versions for appliance manager (A), user interface (UI) and EEPO version. Press key #6 to scroll to next screen. Screen 2: Displays programmed to cavity size. Press key #6 to scroll to next screen. Screen 3: Displays the last error code in memory. If GOOD is displayed, there is not an error coded in memory. If dashes appear in main temperature display, proceed to Step Unplug oven or disconnect power. 4. emove back panels and ensure the indicated temperature sensor is plugged in properly and fully inserted. If it is not, plug it in to the connector and go to Step. If it is plugged in, go to Step Check connector P2 on the appliance manager. ake sure it is plugged in and fully seated. If it is not, make the proper connection and go to Step. If it is already properly connected, go to Step Visually inspect the wires between P2 on the appliance manager and the indicated temperature sensor. ake sure the wires are not cut or pinched. If the wires appear to be intact, unplug the P2 connector on the appliance manager. Go to Step 7. 3

4 FAILUE (Leftmost 7. easure indicated temperature sensor resistance value (measure between appropriate P2 connector pins). For the following sensors, the resistance value should read: Lower Oven Sensor - Between 93 and 2869Ω. (approximately 080Ω at room temperature) eat Probe Sensor - Between,300 and 03,000Ω. (approximately 59,000Ω at room temperature) (Insert meat probe into meat probe jack located inside the oven cavity prior to reading resistance.) If the indicated temperature sensor does not meet these requirements, go to Step 8. If the temperature sensor does meet the requirements, go to Step. 8. For LOE sensor: eplace appropriate temperature sensor. epeat Step 7. If the requirements are not met, replace sensor harness. epeat Step 7. If the requirements are still not met, go to Step 9. For EAT POBE sensor: eplace meat probe sensor. epeat Step 7. If the requirements are not met, replace sensor harness. epeat Step 7. If the requirements are still not met, replace the meat probe jack. epeat Step 7. If the meat probe sensor is still not meeting the requirements, go to Step eplace the appliance manager. Ensure all connectors are properly placed and firmly connected. 0. Ensure all wiring connections are made.. eplace all parts and panels before operating. 2. Plug in oven or reconnect power. 3. Observe for longer than minute. Enter into Diagnostics mode and read sensor for main oven sensor and meat probe on immediate display. F3 Sensors E2 arming drawer sensor shorted or open POCEDUE: Oven is not equipped with this feature. If error occurs, before proceeding press OFF, OFF, STAT to enter into Diagnostics mode and verify the error codes. If error code returns, replace user interface with correct control associated with this product. F4 icrowave sensors EO (ightmost E E2 LIKEL FAILUE CODITIO Convection thermistor Internal temperature sensor E4 Humidity sensor SUGGESTED COECTIVE ACTIO POCEDUE POCEDUE: There are 3 sensors for the microwave. They are the Convection Thermistor, Ambient Sensor (integrated on the appliance manager), and Humidity Sensor. Before proceeding, perform steps through 3 of To Enter Diagnostics ode.. Press the number 6 key to transition to the Sensors screen. 2. Verify in Diagnostics the temperature readings on sensor. 3. The sensors for the combo microwave oven will scroll through the list of sensors. 4. If a sensor reading on the display shows (---) dashes, the sensor is not connected or otherwise inoperable. If sensor that shows dashes is the ambient sensor, proceed to Step Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power. 6. emove top panel to gain access to the microwave control system 7. Ensure the convection thermistor (P6) and the humidity sensor (P4) are plugged in properly to the appliance manager. If not, plug in the connector and proceed to Step 9. If connectors are plugged in, proceed to Step Visually inspect the wires between P6 and convection thermistor from the appliance manager to the back of the unit to ensure they are not pinched or cut. If wires appear to be intact, unplug connector and proceed to Step easure indicated sensors resistance value from the P6 connector. For this sensor, the resistance value should read 23kΩ at 77 F (25 C). 0. Visually inspect the wires between P4 and humidity sensor from the appliance manager to the front of the unit to ensure they are not pinched or cut. If wires appear to be intact, unplug connector and proceed to Step. FAILUE (Leftmost. easure indicated sensors resistance value from the P4 connector. For this sensor, the resistance value should read 2.8Ω at 77 F (25 C) between pins 3 and or between pins 3 and If indicated temperature sensor does not meet these requirements proceed to Step eplace convection thermistor. Ensure the convection thermistor is properly inserted and plugged into P6. Continue to Step eplace humidity sensor. Ensure the humidity sensor is properly inserted and plugged into P4. Continue to Step eplace the microwave appliance manager. Ensure all connectors are properly placed and firmly connected. 6. eplace all parts and panels before operating. 7. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power. 8. Observe for longer than minute. 9. Enter into the Diagnostics mode and press key 6 to scroll to the sensor display. ead the sensor reading for the 3 sensors, ensuring they are reading correctly. F5 one identified for microwave method for determining failure SUGGESTED COECTIVE ACTIO POCEDUE POCEDUE: Before proceeding, perform steps through 3 of To Enter Diagnostics ode. Using the main screen upon entering Diagnostics, open and close door on microwave. In the hours field, the second digit should show 0 when door is open and when door is closed. If display shows a 0 when door is closed and does not transition to a, verify position of door switches and replace as necessary. To Verify Door Switch:. hile in Diagnostics, open the oven door. 0 should appear in the second clock digit from the left. Close the oven door. The clock digit should toggle to. If the digit did not toggle, go to Step 2. If the digit did not toggle after replacing the door switch, go to Step 4. If the digit did not toggle after replacing the door switch harness, go to Step 6. If the digit did toggle, door switch is operating correctly. 2. Unplug oven or disconnect power. 3. eplace door switch. (If door switch is integral to the door latch motor assembly, replace the entire door latch motor assembly.) Go to Step Unplug oven or disconnect power. 5. Check integrity of all harness wires and connections between the appliance manager and the door/latch assembly. Ensure there are no shorted wires to chassis. If the wiring harness is pinched or damaged, replace the door switch harness. Go to Step 8. If the wiring is good, go to Step Unplug oven or disconnect power. 7. eplace appliance manager. Go to Step eplace all parts and panels before operating. 9. Plug in oven or reconnect power. 0. Enter into Diagnostics mode by pressing OFF > OFF > STAT. epeat Step above. 4

5 FAILUE (Leftmost EO (ightmost LIKEL FAILUE CODITIO To Verify Door Latch Switch/otor Assembly:. hile in Diagnostics, press the CLEA key within the first 20 seconds of powering up to cycle the latch motor to the locked position. should appear in the first clock digit from the left when locked. Press the CLEA key to cycle the latch motor to the unlocked position. The clock digit should toggle to 0. If the digit did not toggle, go to Step 2. If motor runs continuously, wait until motor reaches the unlocked position, open the door, press the OFF key, go to Step 2. If motor did not run, go to Step 8. If the digit did not toggle after replacing the door latch motor assembly, go to Step 4. If the digit did not toggle after replacing the door latch switch harness, go to Step 6. If the digit did toggle, door latch switch is operating correctly. 2. Unplug oven or disconnect power. 3. eplace door latch motor assembly. Go to Step Unplug oven or disconnect power. 5. Check integrity of all harness wires and connections between the appliance manager and the door latch switch. Ensure there are no shorted or pinched wires to the chassis. If the wiring harness is pinched or damaged, replace the door latch switch harness. Go to Step. If the wiring is good, go to Step Unplug oven or disconnect power. 7. eplace appliance manager. Go to Step eplace all parts and panels before operating. 9. Plug in oven or reconnect power. 0. Enter into Diagnostics mode by pressing OFF > OFF > STAT.. epeat Step above. F6 EO Lost communication Systems SUGGESTED COECTIVE ACTIO POCEDUE POCEDUE: Before proceeding, perform steps through 3 of To Enter Diagnostics ode. Ensure A software, UI software and EEPO CHECKSU versions appear on the lower text line. If A software and EEPO version do not appear, UI and A may not be communicating. Verify this for the UI. The microwave UI will show the A software and EEPO versions for the microwave appliance manager. If the lower oven UI is not displaying the A software version, go to UI IS OT DISPLAIG A SOFTAE VESIO. If the upper oven UI is not displaying the A software and EEPO versions, go to UPPE OVE UI IS OT DISPLAG THE A SOFTAE AD EEPO VESIO. If lower oven UI and microwave UI are both displaying an error, go to LOE OVE UI AD ICOAVE UI AE BOTH DISPLAIG A EO. UI IS OT DISPLAIG A SOFTAE VESIO: 2. Check both fuses in the microwave module and the fuse located next to the appliance manager. If either is open or disconnected, it will break contact for the communication line and cause this error. 3. Check microwave module appliance manager for damage on corners of board. Broken traces can cause communications failure. 4. Check the harness and probe jack for a short to ground. 5. eplace all parts and panels. Unplug meat probe and plug in oven or reconnect power. If error goes away, the meat probe sensing line is grounded. 6. Unplug oven or disconnect power. 7. Open the back panels and make sure the P6 connector on the appliance manager and the P2 connector on the user interface are fully inserted. If not, plug in connectors and go to Step 9. If fully plugged in, go to Step Visually inspect all of the wires between P6 on the appliance manager and P2 on the user interface. ake sure the wires are not cut or pinched. If the wires appear to be intact, perform a continuity check between P6- of the appliance manager and P2- of the user interface board. Do the same for P6-2 (A) to P2-2 (UI), P6-4 (A) to P2-4 (UI), and P6-5 (A) to P2-5 (UI). All of the checks should result in a reading of less than 5Ω. If any of these checks fail, go to Step 8. If these checks pass, reconnect P2, then go to Step 7. FAILUE (Leftmost EO (ightmost LIKEL FAILUE CODITIO 9. eplace the appliance manager. Ensure all connectors are properly seated. 0. eplace the wiring harness (signal). Ensure all wiring connections are made.. eplace all parts and panels before operating. 2. Plug in oven or reconnect power. 3. Observe for longer than minute. 4. If the error does not appear, initiate a Bake cycle. Let the cycle run at least minute. If no error occurs, cancel the cycle. The problem has been repaired. If the error occurs again, restart the troubleshooting procedure at Step (except in Step 7 replace the user interface board if the appliance manager has already been replaced). If both are replaced, the problem has been repaired. F6 E0 Lost communication Systems - continued UPPE OVE UI IS OT DISPLAIG THE A SOFTAE AD EEPO VESIOS: 2. Open the back panels and make sure the P2 and U3 connectors are fully inserted on the microwave user interface and the wide interface board. ake sure the P connector on the wide interface board and the P0 connector on the microwave oven appliance manager are inserted. If the P2 (mwo UI) and U3 (wide interface board) are plugged in, go to Step 3. If the P2 (mwo UI) to U3 (wide interface board) connectors are not connected, plug in the connectors and proceed to Step 6. If the P (wide interface board) to P0 (microwave appliance manager) connectors are not connected, plug in the connectors and go to Step 6. If the P (wide interface board) to P0 (microwave appliance manager) are plugged in, go to Step Visually inspect all wires between P2 on the microwave user interface and U3 on the wide interface board. ake sure the wires are not cut or pinched. If the wires appear to be intact, perform a continuity check between P2- and U3- of the microwave user interface (mwo UI) and the wide interface board. Complete for P2-2 (mwo UI) to U3-2 (wide interface board), P2-4 (mwo UI) to U3-4 (wide interface board), and P2-5 (mwo UI) to U3-5 (wide interface board). All of the measurements should be less than 5Ω.. If any of these checks fail, go to Step 6. If these checks pass, reconnect P2 and go to Step Visually inspect all wires between P on the wide interface board and P0 on the microwave appliance manager. ake sure the wires are not cut or pinched. If the wires appear to be intact, perform a continuity check between P- on the wide interface board to P0- on the microwave appliance manager, continuing for P-2 (wide interface board) to P0-2 (microwave appliance manager), P-3 to P0-3, P-4 to P0-4, P-5 to P0-5 and finally P-6 to P0-6. All of the measurements should be less than 5Ω.. If any of these checks fail, go to Step 6. If these checks pass, reconnect P and go to Step eplace the wide interface board. Ensure all connectors are properly inserted. Go to Step 8. If the wide interface board has already been replaced and the error has not been corrected, proceed to Step eplace wiring harness (between P and P0) and proceed to Step eplace the microwave appliance manager. Ensure all connectors are properly inserted. Go to Step eplace all parts and panels before operating. 9. Plug in oven or reconnect power. 0. Observe for longer than minute to determine if error has been repaired.. If error does not appear, initiate a microwave cycle. Let the cycle run for at least minute. If no error occurs, cancel the cycle, the problem has been repaired. If error occurs, restart the troubleshooting procedure at Step. At Step 5, replace the microwave user interface board if the wide interface board and/or microwave appliance manager have already been replaced.
