2 In a class of its own Our new V-SHAPE Compact series now also offers V-type units for lower capacity ranges, making them ideal for commercial refrigeration applications. These units are available as fluid coolers, condensers or gas coolers, and offer maximum performance on a remarkably small footprint even when operated in dry mode. The diameters of the core tubes and the materials used, together with the fin geometries, provide the best possible combination of maximum capacity and minimum tube volume. In its performance class, when operated together with the optional adiabatic HydroPad pre-cooling system and the wide range of accessories, the V-SHAPE Compact leaves nothing to be desired! Wet or dry the decision is yours! The optional HydroPad humidification pad enables refrigeration plants to be operated more efficiently, thereby saving money without necessitating water treatment, labour-intensive maintenance work and wetting of the coil. The additionally available Güntner Hydro Management GHM pad determines continuously, if requested, whether applying water or increasing the fan speed will be more cost-effective. 4 Technical equipment for the V-SHAPE Compact cooler Compliant with the well-proven Güntner Compact standard, these units are available for capacities ranging from approx. 10 kw up to several 100 kw, and offer all the advantages of our latest heat exchanger geometries. During their development, we took particular care that the units would also fulfil stringent sound requirements, which means that these new V-type units are particularly suitable for noise-sensitive applications in inner cities. Their lower tube volume means that they need less refrigerant. This reduces costs and also delights the environment. Well thought-out design details ensure quick and easy installation on site and extremely easy maintenance. For example, the new crane lugs literally disappear from view when not needed, and the humidification pads can be very easily removed even without tools. These robust units in their compact casings made of powder-coated galvanised steel are thoroughly tested for stability. For example, they are challenged with simulated wind and snow loads and tested for earthquake safety. This guarantees you the safety that you expect from Güntner units. Maximum efficiency The Güntner Hydro Management GHM pad continually monitors the operating state of your heat exchanger and ensures optimal coordination of fan speed and volume of water applied. This reduces your operating costs as far as permitted by the required load and the state of the ambient air. This also applies for installations in hotter environments. In such cases, adiabatic pre-cooling can greatly reduce the number of hours of transcritical operation. This means that transcritical CO 2 systems are also cost-effective in these regions. On the assumption that a CO 2 booster system is transcritically operated from an ambient temperature of approx. 23 C and is equipped with a conventional dry cooler, the transcritical operating hours amount to approx. 1,920 h/a. However, if the ambient air that is sucked in is pre-cooled during these approx. 1,920 h/a before it flows through the heat exchanger, there will be only approx. 300 h/a with temperatures 23 C and hence only approx. 300 h/a of transcritical operation of the CO2 booster system. The use of transcritical CO 2 booster systems is therefore cost-effective and the CO 2 equator is pushed considerably further south as a result. 9

10 GHM pad efficient regulation made easy The humidification control GHM pad controls the wetting of the humidification pads. The volume of water needed is determined as a function of the current load requirement and the measured ambient temperature and humidity. Necessary information for this, such as the fan speed, is read out from Güntner Motor Management GMM via the bus communication. This speed data can alternatively be transmitted using a 0 10 volt signal. The system continuously records the amount of wetting water applied, the speed of the fans and the state of the ambient air. This provides the basis for an integrated cost management function that continually decides whether applying water or increasing the fan speed will provide the more efficient mode of operation. This reduces your operating costs without any loss of performance, thus saving you real money. Under partial load, the volume of water is continuously controlled, thus ensuring that the condensing temperature is always held at its setpoint.
