PIAB s series of industrial vacuum conveyors make use of a patented vacuum technology called COAX. They are efficient, reliable, innovative and highly cost-effective. What is COAX technology? COAX, a patented technology, is a new and improved design on PIAB s innovative multistage concept for creating vacuum with compressed air. COAX integrates the internal components of a multistage vacuum pump into a vacuum cartridge. The result is a smaller, more efficient, more reliable and highly flexible technology. Why is COAX technology efficient and reliable? Energy is put to maximum use with the COAX technology. The vacuum pump module on the Industrial Vacuum Conveyor consumes less energy than conventional vacuum pumps. COAX vacuum cartridges are up to twice as fast and provide 3 times more flow than a typical conventional ejector with the same air consumption. COAX is also designed for low and fluctuating feed pressures (25-87 psi) with sustained vacuum performance for maximum reliability. COAX technology When compressed air (1) flows through the pump nozzles (2), air from outside of the pump will be entrained by the jet of air at the nozzle outlet. Suction will be generated at the openings to the various stages (3). 4 How does a PIAB vacuum conveyor work? The functional progress of a PIAB vacuum conveyor is always cyclical, with one conveying sequence and one emptying sequence. The powder is sucked away from the feed station E into the conveying pipeline and then to the container. 4. The filter F protects the pump and the surrounding area from dust and small particles. 5. During the suction period, the air shock tank is filled with compressed air. E. Feed station 6. At a preset time, the pump and the conveying are stopped and the bottom valve B is opened. The powder is emptied at the same time as the airshock is activated and the compressed air cleans the filter from dust and small particles. 7. PIAB s vacuum conveyor testing facility is especially designed for engineers in the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries, who deal with materials that are often health impairing and/or sensitive to humidity and contamination. Testing in the laboratory ensures customers that their material can be conveyed safely, hygienically, quietly and efficiently. PIAB engineers assess conveying characteristics over various vertical and horizontal distances and provide customers with a computer-generated analysis of volume conveyed per hour or minute over a given distance. This detailed report allows customers to be certain that vacuum cycle time and energy consumption are effective.
