2 Introduction directory The City of Woodland s Environmental Services Division oversees trash collection, recycling and other community environmental programs. Waste Management is Woodland s franchise waste hauler. City of Woodland State law requires that we divert at least 50% of community solid waste from landfills through source reduction, recycling, and composting. In addition, in 2011, California set the ambitious goal of reaching a 75% diversion rate by recycle@cityofwoodland.org Waste Management Environmental rebates available to Woodland residents. 3 Waste Manage ment services General Information Holiday Service Delays Carts may not be serviced if they are overloaded, are not accessible, or include inappropriate materials. There are no collection services on these holidays: See Holiday Service Delays on the next page for exceptions to normal service. Residential Cart Services Place carts at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on service day and remove them within 24 hours. If the holiday falls on a weekday, services will be delayed by one day the rest of that week. For example, if your normal service day is Thursday, during Thanksgiving week, your collection will be on Friday. Friday customers will be serviced on Saturday. Place carts 3 feet apart and 3 feet from other objects. All carts are serviced weekly! Commercial Services Trash and recycling bins are available in several sizes. Bulky Waste Event Every year in April, Waste Management holds a Bulky Waste Drop-Off & Recycling Event for Woodland residents free of charge. The following items are accepted for recycling or disposal: Waste Management offers free assisted service to senior and disabled customers who are unable to roll their carts to the curb. 4 Trash Recycling Waste Services All residential carts and commercial bins are serviced at least once per week. Businesses and apartments may request additional pickups. State law and the municipal code require businesses that generate 4 cubic yards or more e of waste per week and apartments with 5 or more units to have recycling programs. 6 Be Smart, Use The Cart! Green Green waste services are provided only to residents in single family homes. Commercial customers are prohibited from placing green waste in the street. Street t Sweeping All streets are swept weekly to help keep Woodland clean and Please move vehicles off of the street during your street sweeping day to ensure streets are cleaned thoroughly.
