4 Issue 8, October It s Not Too Late To Think About Landscaping: Many homeowners often think that since the warm weather is over the time has passed to have landscape upgrades done to their home. Fall is actually one of the best times, along with spring, to do planting. Since it s not nearly as hot and the days are shorter, the new plant material actually thrives more than it would during the summer months. In the summer, while you still can do planting, you need to be much more concerned with temperatures and watering. This is also a great time of year to think about hardscaping, especially fire pits. When the air starts to get crisp and you want to enjoy the fall at night, a fire pit is ideal. It can give off that slight bit of warmth that you need to stay comfortable. Not to mention, it is truly a great asset to your backyard. Fire pits are great for parties and social settings. Also, your children will love coming back from trick-or- treating and roasting marshmallows around their new fire pit! Whether it be a fire pit, new patio, or a retaining wall, it s not too late to dress up your property for the fall. Give us a call for a FREE estimate on any type of landscaping work, ! Valued Customer Check List: I have called to schedule my irrigation system winterization, x 16. I have sent back and scheduled my fall lawn renovation so my lawn can become healthy and beautiful again. I have joined Quality Landscaping, Inc. s Facebook page so I can receive promotions and discounts towards services,. I have taken part in Quality Landscaping, Inc. s Stimulus Program by using one or more coupons from the stimulus flyer. I have scheduled to have my spring flowers taken out and mums put in by Quality Landscaping. I have looked into buying firewood from Quality Landscaping to prepare for the cool fall nights! It s not too early to start thinking about your outdoor holiday decorating! Call today for a FREE estimate! Tips for Planting Chrysanthemums: Try not to plant mums directly under a street light or other nightscape lighting, mums flower in the dark hours. This is why they do so well in the Fall, they don t need as much sun. Mums planted in the ground tend not to need as much water as one left in containers. To avoid your mums wilting, check the soil every day, make sure it s moist! It s not too late to take part in Quality Landscaping s Stimulus Program! Remember all coupons are valid for a one time use until November 31, 2011!

5 Issue 7, September Do you want to turn your lawn around? Fall is the best time to restore your lawn after the extreme conditions of this summer. Just as every golf course does, your lawn should receive the same treatment. It may help your lawn start looking the way you want it to again. Services include: Machine dethatching and raking Machine slice-seeding Machine aerating Our experienced crew will do what it takes to repair and restore the bare, thin, crabgrass infested areas of your lawn. Our technicians are highly experienced and knowledgeable in this type of lawn care service. Pricing is based on square foot and includes over-seeding, liming, and starter fertilizer. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to give us a call, Looking to add color to your yard? Fall is also the time to change out your spring flowers with new fall plantings! Varieties include multi-colored pansies and chrysanthemums, also known as mums. Purple and white kale are also a typical fall planting choice. The areas where we plant will also receive a light cover of new mulch. Be the envy of all your neighbors and give us a call to schedule your fall plantings today, x 11! It s not too early to schedule your irrigation system winterization! Remember, your irrigation system needs to be blown out, which is technically known as a winterization. Call our office, x16, to set up this service. Appointments fill up fast, so the sooner you set a time that s convenient for you the better! We encourage this service to be performed in the months of October and November, before Thanksgiving as a rule of thumb. The cost of this service is based on the number of zones your system has. If you do not get your system winterized before the first freeze of the year your pipes could crack, please be aware that this type of repair could be costly! Therefore, be proactive and schedule your appointment now! Quality s Economic Stimulus Package: Starting this month, look for coupons in the mail for our services and supplies!

6 Issue 6, August 2011 What you probably don t know about your Nightscape lighting Nightscape lighting is a good way to brighten up your home at night. It also can allow you to see your property better from the inside of your home. Some use it as another sense of security aside from a burglar alarm. It can deter intruders from coming onto your property, knowing that they can be easily seen. However, your nightscape lighting should be checked on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. If you do not inspect your nightscape lighting regularly you may not know when bulbs are out or when your lights need to be adjusted. One of our nightscape technicians will be able to check your system from breaks or adjustments. Please give us a call to set up an appointment, x 16. Do you want to make the outside of your house look brand new? Pressure washing is one of the best hidden secrets to make your house look as good as new! 8 Issue 4, June 2011 Irrigation Watering Tips To Help Your Lawn: 1) Adapt your watering schedule to the weather and the season. 2) Familiarize yourself with the settings on your system so you are able to tell if it is not running correctly or if the settings need to be changed. 3) Water only when needed, watering too much and too frequently results in shallow roots, weed growth and diseases. 4) Water after sunset and before sunrise when winds are calm and temperatures are a little cooler. This will help reduce evaporation. 5) Install a rain shutoff switch, they are inexpensive and effective. Required by law in many states, these moneysaving sensors turn off your system in rainy weather and help to compensate for natural rainfall. Please feel free to call with any questions about this product, x 15. What should you expect with your trimming and pruning service this month? If you signed up for this service, you will be scheduled sometime in June, depending when we are in your area. If you should have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us! What are the benefits of keeping your landscaping looking well maintained throughout the year? Your landscaping is the first thing visitors see when they visit your home and you only get one first impression. Having nice landscaping will impress visitors immediately! Also, with the stress of everyday life, home is where most people can kick back and relax. A well maintained property can help reduce stress and bring joy to a bad day. 11 Quality Landscaping, Inc Newsletter March 2011 Vol. 1 Issue New Freedom Road Clementon, NJ (856) March Check List: Send in your 2011 signed grounds maintenance proposal Schedule your irrigation start-up for April or May Call to get any of your questions or concerns answered Street Address Suite 555 City, State E: @address.com P: M: F: Issue 1, March 2011 What is new at Quality Landscaping, Inc? Since last season one of the most important changes we have made is to our grounds maintenance proposals, which you may have already noticed. We added information we felt was necessary to provide you with. Also, being that we are a full service company we felt it was important to incorporate irrigation into the proposal. We are now offering a 5 Visit Program, which we believe will help your lawn stay correctly irrigated. For questions on the program, call our office today! We hope you find our new proposal helpful. If you should have any questions or concerns on the proposal, please do not hesitate to contact us! Why is Lawn Care important? While watering and mowing your lawn are important, they aren t always enough to grow a healthy lawn. A lawn requires certain nutrients that irrigation alone can not provide, this is why the Lawn Care program is important. Our program is designed to provide the proper amounts of fertilizer and insect control to your lawn at the correct times of the season. Without a lawn care program, your lawn may suffer if we do not get the proper amount of rain. Rain provides nutrients that irrigation systems can not, however generally in the spring and summer we do not get enough rain to help ensure the lawn gets to proper amount of nutrients. It is also important to remember that once fertilizer goes down on the lawn, in most cases, it will need to be watered in so that the fertilizer is effective. Please note, that your Lawn Care page of your Grounds Maintenance Proposal explains which steps are most important to be watered in. Lawn Care and Irrigation go hand in hand and are both very important in making sure your lawn stays healthy. For more information, discussion, or questions please contact our office at x 14. Tip of the Month: It s time to get some weed control down. Step 1 of the Lawn Care program and Treflan can help control weeds and can stop them before they start. If you stop the weed before it gets out of the ground the lawn looks better. March is about preventing weeds!
