1 Revised! see Protective Earthing Addendum P0WER SUPPLY & OUT AUX PWR INPUTS IN O O Relays: O O O O RELAY CONTACTS RELAY CONTACTS RELAYS 1-4 RELAYS 5-8 An 8 way Clocked Relay Controller provides eight single pole Relays with connection terminals to the Common (C), Normally Open (NO), and Normally Closed (NC) contacts. The Relay contacts are rated at 1 0 to 30V DC; reducing to 48V DC. Relay Controllers can be connected together to provide up to 16 relays when connected to a Data Gathering Panel, 64 relays in a Single Lift Controller, or 256 relays when connected to the Challenger Alarm Panel. Mounting: ( See table on page 3 ) TS0816: TS0841 Relay Cards must be mounted in a separate enclosure and are connected with the cable supplied. All 8-32 I/P DGPs: Up to two TS0841 can mount on existing standoffs in all 8-32 Input Data Gathering Panels, depending on what other modules are fitted. TS0015: TS0304: If connected to Version 6 Challenger Alarm Panels, a separate enclosure is required. Separate Enclosure. V6 DGP Box 360 x 260 x 75mm with mounting for 1 Size "A" PCB, and 4 Size "B" PCBs or 2 Size "Double B" PCBs. Note: The TS0841 is a Size "Double B" PCB. Dimensions ( PCB Card ): Size Double B PCB: 176 x 52 mm Current consumption: The Clocked Relay controller requires 50mA standby current and 250mA with all 8 relays active. Clocked Relay/Open Collector Cards. Power Supply Connections: PWR +12 0V AUX + - Alternative +12 Volt and 0 Volt Power supply connection. This terminal is used when it is necessary to make the Supply connection using heavier guage cable (e.g. figure 8), or from a separate power supply, in order to minimise Voltage drop over longer distances or reduce current drain on the Panel or DGP. If using this power supply connection: - V8 Panel; Remove the "+12V" link near J14. - Other equipment; Ensure that the +12V wire in the "CLK" cable is NOT connected. The AUX + & - terminals are completely separate from the PWR connections and provide the facility to link the Common contacts of the 8 Relays to a positive or negative voltage source (48V DC maximum). Links 1 to 8 allow each of the Common contacts to be linked to Aux + or Aux - as required. Version 8. 8 Way Clocked Relay Card - TS0841: Issue I, Revision I: August

4 Enabling and Programming: Program Relay Assignments. Map relays to Event numbers and/or timezones as required. Relay function can also be inverted or programmed to be active or inactive during thetimezone. See: Challenger Programming Guide for more information. (Installer Menu Option 16) Version 6, 7 & 8 Challenger Alarm Panels. TS0015 & TS0816 Relay Controllers. Enter the number of 8 way Relay Controllers connected to the Challenger Alarm Panel Input Data Gathering Panel. TS0020 to TS0024 & TS0820 to TS0824 Switch DIP switch 6 on Data Gathering Panel to "ON". This enables up to two 8 way Relay Cards. Version 5.9 Challenger Alarm Panel. TS0010 to TS0014, TS05?? Remove Links RL5, RL6 & RL7 on the Alarm Panel PCB. Relays 5, 6, & 7 on the Alarm Panel become inoperative. Installer Menu Option 7 - Program System Options. Output Controllers. Enter the number of 8 way Relay Card Output Controllers connected to the Challenger Alarm Panel. On earlier Version 5 Alarm Panels the Output Controllers option is not enabled by programming. In this case it is necessary to switch DIP switch 6 on the Alarm Panel to "ON". 16 Input Data Gathering Panel. TS0016, TS0017. Switch DIP switch 6 on Data Gathering Panel to "ON". This enables up to two 8 way Relay Cards. 16 Input Access Controller Data Gathering Panel. TS0067, TS0069 Output Controllers. Enter the number of 8 way Relay Controllers connected to the Access Controller.
