The immediate detection induces to abandon any access attempt and permits activating an efficient defence. DEA SECURITY has devoted its own research and development activity to the field of antintrusion perimeter protections, by creating a new technology object of international patents. The result of this hard work is the realization of a wide range of very efficient products: - SERIR, metal fence protection system; - TORSUS, wire-netting protection system; - SISMA CP, underground protection system; - SISMA CA, protection system for pavings; - DEA NET, communication network at high speed; - DEA MAP, integrated management system; - SERIE A-03, indoor. 2 SISMA CP SYSTEM

3 SISMA CP system SISMA CP is an innovative antintrusion perimeter system of underground type creating an invisible and not localizable detection band around the site to be protected. SISMA CP uses special geoseismic detectors, DEA SECURITY's patent, able to perceive the pressure waves generated by a person walking on a surface made of lawn, gravel, asphalt or self-lockings. Completely invisible The sensors operate at 60 cm in depth in a constant environment which makes the system free from climatic conditions and perfectly compatible with normal gardening job. Working quota at 60 cm of depth The signals generated by the sensor strings are amplified and processed by advanced electronic boards able to recognized the various types of intrusion and to discriminate possible environmental nuisances. The digital memory of the system stores all the events detected, by providing precise information on the causes which have provoked them (DEA REPORT). 4 The components of SISMA CP system The SG-01 sensors SG-01 detectors are able to perceive the seismic waves which, generated by a person walking on the surface, propagate in the ground. The sensitive core of SG-01 detectors is represented by a piezoceramic transducer, which produces a weak electric signal when subject to stress. The piezoceramic transducer is an inexhaustible element which, being sealed and protected by a plastic housing chemical and organic substance resistant, guarantees a constant functioning in time. SG-01 geoseismic sensors are of passive type since they are not supplied and do not contain any active electronic component. The last feature offers a double advantage: SG-01 Sensor string - there is no electronic breakdown of the sensor; - there is no electromagnetic emission, so the sensor cannot be located. The efficiency of SG-01 detectors has permitted to low the SISMA CP working quota until 60 cm of depth, guaranteeing: - A steady environment. The meteorological phenomena, even very forceful ones, only affect the first centimetres of the surface and never reach 60 cm in depth. In addition, the mechanical stress to which the sensors are subject during a possible transit of vehicles is dramatically reduced. Excavation depth: 60cm - The absence of rodents. Since these animals are mainly present in the first 30 cm of the ground, the positioning of the sensors at 60 cm of depth dramatically reduces the possibility of improper alarms and damages, the last ones also avoided by the materials used for the construction of the sensor strings. - Full compatibility with normal gardening job, without any danger for the system. Even in case of sensors used under asphalt, it is possible to carry out normal reasphalting jobs. As far as the electric aspect is concerned, in order to guarantee a perfect transmission quality of the signal and a high immunity to electromagnetic disturbances, each conductor is water proof and twisted, the shield is double since it joins aluminium tape to tinned copper braid. As far as the mechanical aspect is concerned, to offer unalterability and long operation life to the cable, the following parts have been used: an anticrushing protection of the electric conductor, an intermediate sheath to protect the conductors, a zinc-plated iron armour and an external shieth oil and hydrocarbon resistant. 4 SISMA CP SYSTEM

This unit represents the intelligence of the system and interprets what is perceived by the sensors. The electronic board processes the signals by using innovative analysis programs which ensure an efficient recognition of the various types of intrusion and a correct discrimination of the possible environmental nuisances. The independent regulations of the sensitivity and the intervention modes allow the system to operate in different installation ambits, always with the maximum efficiency. SG-01 sensor string STC-01 digital recording module SE SISMA CP SE SISMA CP board is integrated in STC-01 module, which provides a series of advanced functionalities: - Chronological storing of all the events detected by the system; STC-01 - PC connection to view in real time the response graph of the string sensor and, therefore, to facilitate the calibration of the system; - Management of a modem for remote connections. SE SISMA MCP a new technology The continuous research has led to create a new electronic board, offering additional functionalities and new performances. SE SISMA MCP exploits a microprocessor to quicken the processing of the signals, now relied on more advanced programs, and it is able to manage up to 2 strings contemporaneously and in an independent way. SE SISMA MCP The memory to record the events has greater dimensions and a superior resolution, while all the settings are carried out from one's PC, by exploiting the intuitive graphics of the management software. SE SISMA MCP is able to directly manage a modem and to connect to DEA NET, through which it is possible to control very extended sites from a unique position (DEA MAP). SISMA CP SYSTEM 5

6 SISMA System SISMA System SISMA CP technology in depth Independent detectors SG-01 sensors are independent detectors, since each of them controls its own detection area. The use of independent detectors, compared with linear sensors, offers the following advantages: - High level of functional redundancy of the string, since the breakdown or the damage of any of the sensors do not compromise the detection capacity of the other sensors; - Quick recovery of the detection capacity of the single damaged sensor through a simple replacement of the sensor and an electric connection of the junction cable, without replacing the whole string; - Absence of background noises, typical effect present in linear sensors which are normally composed of a unique sensor element, along a very extended analysis front and for this reason subject to environmental nuisances; - Possibility of AND function on a unique string. Being independent detectors, SG-01 sensors are assembled in an alternate way on two different connection lines, so as to obtain a double consent functioning. AND detection (two lines in one) Each sensor string of SISMA CP system is composed of two types of sensors, A and B, which are connected in an alternate way. A sensors and B sensors are completely independent from one another and transmit their own signals through two different electric connections; in this way the processing board has at its disposal information coming from two distinct sources and it can therefore carry out a more accurate analysis to recognize the intrusion. Practically, according to the type and to the intensity of the seismic wave propagating in the ground, only A type sensors or B type sensors are concerned, or both of them. In addition, the intensity of the signals generated by the two types of sensors depend on the entity of the shock on the ground and on the distance between the shock place and each sensor. For example, a person's steps generate seismic waves which can be detected by both of the sensors, while a small animal's passing generates a signal only for one of the two detectors. A B AND signals signal on line B A B A signal on. line A maximum signal on line A maximum signal on line B Double detection consent Substantially, AND detection is based on a combined analysis coming from A type detectors and B type detectors and ensures an optimum level of sensitivity and a high degree of immunity towards small animals. Besides AND mode, SISMA CP system processing board also offers OR mode, which exploits an independent analysis of the signals coming from A sensors or B sensors. This type of functioning, which gives the system the maximum detection capacity, is suitable for installations in military sites, prisons and telecommunication centres. 6 SISMA CP SYSTEM

7 SISMA CP technology in depth Limited analysis front Each string of SISMA CP is composed of up to 50 detectors able to protect a perimeter section of about 45 m. This size, which is highly valid in residential, industrial and military sites, offers the possibility to: - optimize the management of different types of surfaces; - exactly locate the perimeter section subject to attack; - easily interact with a CCTV system. DEA SECURITY offers its own experience to examine the data recorded by the memory of the system, easily coming back to the seismic wave present in the ground in the moment the event occurred and therefore to the causes which have provoked it. The result is an accurate technical report of analysis (DEA REPORT) which can have both the function of a system check-up and a verification in consequence of an alarm signal. Once the connection to the board has been carried out, it is possible to download the stored events and view in real time the reply graph of the string. 8 How to realize a SISMA CP system Environmental analysis SISMA CP can be installed in lawns, in surfaces covered with gravel, asphalt, interlockings or slabs in general, and in all the sites where there is no rigid structure, like concrete, coming between the system and the surface. In case of interlockings or tiles, these must be directly laid on the ground without using a concrete base. The correct calibration of the processing board permits the system to reach the best performances according to the ground in which it operates. The direction of the strings must not be rectilinear but wavy, and traced out so as to keep an adequate distance (about 3 m) from possible disturbing elements, such as trees, posts, arbours and the like, which can swing under the action of the wind. Pressure pipe coverage An other aspect to be considered is the presence of pressure pipes which can propagate seismic waves in the ground. A string parallel to a pipe will have to keep a distance of at least 2 m, while in case of intersection, the pipe will have to be insulated to avoid vibrations. Perimeter sectioning As a consequence of a passing on the surface, the several types of surface (lawn, asphalt, gravel) cause a seismic wave having different features. When designing, it is important to divide the perimeter in order to have a dedicated string for each variation of zone (example when passing from lawn to asphalt). In addition, the subdivision of the perimeter into zones must allow a quick individuation of the alarm sector and an easy management of the detection system. 9 How to realize a SISMA CP system Example We hypothesize the protection of a perimeter of 180 m, divided into 3 zones, by setting the relative electronic boards into one cabinet situated near the control panel (CP). 10 How to realize a SISMA CP system Wiring All the electric connections of the sensor strings must be welded and protected with bicomponent epoxy KIT R 250. Each kit can seal 2 CTR CP or 3 CT2580N boxes. Board positioning The processing board can be set in the room of the control panel, if this is situated within 150 m from the beginning of the string, or in special waterproof external cabinets (peripheral cabinets) to be positioned near the sensor strings. The last solution, suggested for great perimeters, minimizes the quantity of cable necessary for the connection between the sensor string and the processing boards. End of line junction sealing Peripheral cabinet usage Each peripheral cabinet contains: - the processing boards; - a stabilized linear power-supply; - an emergency buffer battery. The new SE SISMA MCP microprocessor boards permit carrying out the centralized management of the system through DEA communication net (DEA NET). In this case, a connection cable FTP shielded cat. 5 will have to be used for the transmission of the data from the peripheral cabinets to DEA NET controller.
