The flowers are held in small, dainty sprays, hanging gracefully from the branch rather like the blooms of a Japanese cherry. There is a light scent that has been variously described as primrose, apple and myrrh. Very beautiful, free-flowering, elegant and healthy. Almost evergreen. 15ft. Orange buds open to small apricot blooms with a yellow base, then fade to peach, pink and white. In autumn the flowers tend to be more pink. There is a sweet, musky fragrance. A useful rambler in that it is not too vigorous. It repeat flowers, although not as well as some modern varieties. An almost thornless and very healthy variety. 10ft. Very beautiful Old Rose blooms. (Noisette) This famous old climbing rose is an old favourite in cottage gardens, where it was often known as the Old Glory Rose. Large, globular flowers opening cupped that flatten and eventually become quartered. It varies considerably in colour from buff-yellow, to rich apricot and pink, sometimes tinted gold. Flowers early and continues well throughout the season. Strong, rich fragrance. The foliage is thick, rather like a hybrid tea. A much hardier rose than the typical noisette, probably due to a Bourbon influence, which is reputed to be from 'Souvenir de Malmaison'. 15ft. These hang gracefully from the branch and emit a delicious, rich tea fragrance. Lady Hillingdon continues to flower throughout the summer with unusual regularity.
