1 22 nd Workshop FIRST CIRCULAR DATES & VENUES The 22 nd Workshop of the IAVS Working Group European Vegetation Survey will be held in Roma from Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 April 2013, with a post- Workshop Excursion to the Circeo National Park on Thursday 11 April. The Plenary Sessions and Registration will be held in the Auditorium of the "Accademia dei Lincei", in Palazzo Corsini, via della Lungara 10, Roma, next to the Botanic Garden (Orto Botanico) of Sapienza Università di Roma, Dept. of Environmental Biology, Largo Cristina di Svezia 24, Roma. The Early Registration and Poster Sessions will take place at the Botanic Garden. MAIN TOPICS The main topics for the EVS 2013 workshop are: 1. Coastal and Inland Saline Vegetation; 2. Red List Evaluation of Plant Communities. We are pleased to announce that subsequently to the 22 nd EVS Workshop, a meeting of the International Federation of Phytosociology (FIP) will take place in the same venue (Auditorium of the Accademia dei Lincei) on Friday 12 April. All participants at the EVS Workshop are invited to attend the FIP meeting, no fee required.

The registration fees for students (M.Sc., Ph.D. students) are (IAVS member) and (non IAVS member), which cover: lunches and coffee- breaks; workshop pack with programme. The registration fee for accompanying persons is 50.00, which covers: lunches and coffee- breaks during the Workshop (9 and 10 April). The additional fee for the workshop excursion on April 11 is 25.00, which covers: lunch; transport from/to Orto Botanico. Only 240 persons can participate, so the first come first served principle will be applied. The Social Dinner will be kindly offered by the Director of the Orto Botanico Prof. Carlo Blasi. All registered participants (EVS & FIP) are invited. PRELIMINARY INFORMATION ABOUT ACCOMMODATION As in previous years, accommodation is available at the Casa della Spiritualità and Istituto Orsoline di Maria Immacolata, both close to the Orto Botanico. These are hostels with very simple rooms and a plain breakfast, really convenient but not hotels and therefore with limited facilities and staffing. They also close at 23 00, so you must consider this when planning your arrival in Roma, as well as during your stay.

3 For women only, it will be possible to stay at the Foresteria Orsa Maggiore - Casa delle Donne, also close to the Orto Botanico, where there is dormitory accommodation or double and multiple rooms, accordingly to availability.
