2 Greenbrick SUSTAINABLE GRASS PAVING Greenbrick provides a permeable solution that combines natural paving materials with a grass and plastic block system for use along pavements, walkways and to create defined parking bay areas in and around typical urban settings. Most conventional grass concrete pavers are often an uninspiring grey, maintaining their concrete-like appearance throughout the greenery. A look that often doesn t match the surrounding public spaces and facades. By utilising the Greenbrick system it can provide a greater creative freedom when choosing an appropriate paving material and soften the pavement aesthetics with natural green elements simultaneously. Additionally, the Greenbrick can also be used as a water infiltration system for larger surface areas or as intermittent markers in designated open spaces. Hollow In order to obtain a greener effect and provide an efficient permeable solution it is better to create a patterned or connected system as opposed to adhoc random blocks that can constitute a dysfunctional aesthetic to the adjacent sett or slab. Greenbrick is a hollow block made of plastic, shaped to ensure a good connection in the laying pattern and where grass is allowed enough room to grow. Specially applied reinforced ribs ensure strength and stability enabling the setts or slabs around the Greenbrick to conform. The Greenbrick is constructed with an open membrane compared to normal grass concrete pavers allowing the grass itself extra nutrition and growing space for optimum desired results.

SPECIFICATIONS Material Plastic (HDPE) Max pro m² 13 pieces Colours Black (green and terracotta are available on request) Dimensions and tolerances of the Greenbick are precisely tailored to a Kellen setts dimension of 210 x 105 x 80 mm. It is slightly smaller in its circumference and sits 4 mm lower when placed adjacent to the Kellen paving. Coupling System By placing the Greenbricks end to end a narrow green strip/line effect can be plotted into the pavement. In order to ensure a firm connection, the Greenbricks are fastened together with two plastic spring clips. At the top of each block are two standard clips which, if necessary, could be easily removed from the inside of the block by just turning the clips by hand. By placing the spring clip over the two walls of the block, both Greenbricks can be fastened tightly against each other. Placement Depending on the square meterage of the Greenbricks and laying pattern, there is an option for manually paving the blocks with the other setts or slabs or to lay the complete pavement first and to replace the Greenbricks afterwards. In order to retract individual setts or slabs out of the pavement, special tools are available upon request. Combinations Greenbricks can be combined with Kellen 210 x 105 x 80 mm concrete paving including: Lavaro, Breccia setts and slabs.
