3 CEO/Chairman Message History of SEKWANG Established in 1967, SEKWANG Co., Ltd. is the Republic of Korea s first harbor engineering firm. We have broad expertise in harbor and maritime engineering including capabilities in hydraulics, soil and foundation, structural engineering and marine environment assessment. We are committed to our mission of supporting economic development and improving lives. For close to 0 years, we have done so by taking the lead in developing Korean maritime and port structure including significant involvement in the planning 1970's Establishment of Korea Coastal Co., Ltd. Name change to SEKWANG Co., Ltd. Registration to Ministry of Science-Technology as Port and Coastal Engineering Firm and design of Korea s major ports including Busan Port, Incheon Port, Gwangyang Port, Ulsan Port, Donghae Port, Gunsan Port, Technical cooperation with Japanese port engineering consultancy Pyeongtaek (Asan) Port and Jeju Port. This advanced infrastructure has played an important role in enabling the boom Technical cooperation with Trans Asia, USA in Korea s international trade. In addition to harbor facilities, we carry out the planning and design of onshore industrial complexes, shipyards, naval bases and maritime tourism infrastructure. To stay at the forefront of marine engineering technology, we have established two Research Institutes that support our mission. Established in 1994, the SEKWANG Coastal and Harbor Disaster Prevention Research Institute s focus is on research for new technology and methods to mitigate disasters. The Marine Environment Division, established in 2004, is focused on carrying out marine environmental impact assessment and researching environmentally sustainable technology development. In addition, as the first harbor and marine engineer to be elected as Chairman of 1990's Technical cooperation with Japanese International Coastal Development Research Center Technical cooperation with Rendel Palmer&Tritton Ltd., England Registration as Engineering firm (No ) KENCA (Korean Engineering & Consulting Association), I personally play an active role in furthering the development of the Korean engineering industry Registration as Construction supervisory firm SEKWANG is also actively developing an international footprint. We participate in overseas port development and construction projects both in conjunction with the government of Republic of Korea and private construction companies. I currently serve as the first Asian President of the global organization FIDIC (Federation International Des Ingenieurs-Conseils). In this role, I have the honor of representing not only my company, but the engineering industry. 11 Marine Environments and R&D Environmental impact survey for development of Ulsan New Port For environment-friendly and sustainable port development, SEKWANG has carried out coastal area utilization consultation, ( ~ ) environment impact assessment and post environment impact assessment with extensive experience and scientific analysis Phase 1 techniques. Numerical and hydraulic model experiments are carried out for plan and design of development projects.
