lntroduction This document explains Metasys Integrator Vilter Manufacturing Corporation applications. Use this document with the Metasys Integrator Technical Bulletin, which provides information on installing and commissioning Metasys Integrator. For information on Vilter equipment, see Vilter documentation (obtainable from Vilter representative). Application Details Metasys Integrator allows Vilter equipment to become an integral part of the Metasys and Metasys Companion Networks. Once Vilter refrigeration controllers are connected to a Metasys or Companion Network via the Metasys Integrator, their data is available to the full complement of Metasys Facility Management System (FMS) features, including Change-of-State (COS) monitoring, alarm notification, scheduling, trend, and totalization. Metasys Integrator transmits both status information and commands between the Vilter devices and the Metasys or Companion Network. Metasys Integrator supports four Vilter controllers: Reciprocating Twin Screw Single Screw Evaporative Condenser One controller (of any type) is designated as a master controller, and acts as the interface between Vilter equipment and non-vilter devices (such as Metasys Integrator). The master controller connects to Metasys Integrator through the RS-232 Bus, and to the other controllers through the RS-485 8044 BITBUS. Each Metasys Integrator vendor port can connect to one master controller. Each master controller can connect up to 250 Vilter controllers. Figure 1 shows Vilter and Metasys integration, and Figure 2 shows Vilter and Metasys Companion integration. Vilter documentation describes their equipment. The remaining components are described in the Metasys Integrator Technical Bulletin. Metasys Release Requirements To integrate Vilter equipment into the Metasys Network, you ll need: Metasys OWS software Release 4.0 or higher Metasys Integrator software/firmware Release 2.0 or higher Metasys Companion Release Requirements Vendor Component Requirements To integrate Vilter equipment into the Metasys Companion Network, you ll need: Metasys Companion Release 4.0 or higher Metasys Integrator software/firmware Release 2.0 or higher Integration between Metasys Integrator and Vilter has been tested with the equipment listed in Table 1. Changes to this equipment or integration of Vilter products not discussed in this document will require additional software development and testing by 4 Metasys Integrator Metasys Integrator Vilter Application

(The Vilter representative is responsible for operation of refrigeration controllers.) Make sure one of the controllers is designated as the master controller. (The Vilter representative is responsible for defining the master controller.) Make sure the controller baud rate is set to 1200. (The Vilter representative is responsible for setting the controller s baud rate.) RS-232 cable distance between Metasys Integrator and the master controller can be a maximum of 50 feet. Cable distance between the master controller and the last controller can be a maximum of 4000 feet. Up to 28 controllers can be supported without the use of a repeater (each repeater counts as one device). 6 Metasys Integrator Metasys Integrator Vilter Application

Metasys Integrator Setup To set up Metasys Integrator, you ll use a portable PC connected to Metasys Integrator s Terminal Port. Metasys Integrator setup involves: downloading the correct vendor communication table (.VCT file) setting up the ports assigning network addresses to the controllers The following table provides information specific to Vilter applications. For detailed procedures, see the Metasys Integrator Technical Bulletin. Point Mapping Tables The following tables (one for each application) show the points available for mapping in the Vilter controllers. Reciprocating To get the hardware reference for mapping points to CS object attributes (via the software model), combine the NPT (Network Point Type) and NPA (Network Point Address). For example, the hardware reference for the Discharge Temperature 2 is 3.
