development and ancillary structures and other services buildings. Area: 35,000 sqmt, Estimated Cost: Rs. 250 cr. 2.Slum rehabilitation project at Chandivali for 3.Sanjay Gandhi National Park slumdwellers 4.Kaledonia, Mumbai The project involves the rehabilitation of slum-dwellers evicted from the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. The rehabilitation site at Chandivali, measuring about 34 hectares, will constitute a comprehensive and all-inclusive new town. The town, includes a large, 1.6- hectare maidan as its central, social space. Two more playgrounds and over 60 community open spaces enliven its outdoors. More than 14 schools, medical facilities, including two hospitals, two large community halls and religious institutions, constitute its social infrastructure. Schools and community halls are annexed to these open spaces and playgrounds. Each 22.5- square-metre, well-lit and adequately ventilated house comprises a room and kitchen with a balcony and toilet. Each pada (cluster) comprises two societies with 550 houses and 16 common units for balwadis, society offices, crèches, a women s centre and other common facilities. A central court provides openness, light and ventilation. These promote a sense of unity between the different parts of the development. The commercial building is the saleable component of a slum redevelopment scheme. Therefore it was expected that we design it in the market aesthetics of glass and stainless steel, with a striking façade and an impressive entrance. The ground and basement floors are for parking, the first floor accommodates the facilities like the restaurants, cafeteria and fast food corners for working people on the upper floors which are all offices. It is a stylized structural form where we interplay the solids and voids to create an interestingly massed and proportioned building. Project completed. Built up Area 5 lac sqft. Estimated Cost: Rs. 125 Cr. 5. Re- envisioning Pimpri Chinchwad Master plan & Integrated Tourism Development plan, Pimpri Chinchwad Sites handled: Master Plan of Pimpri Chinchwad was proposed. The central objective being expansion of public spaces and proposing public amenities and facilities along the network of public spaces and thereby promoting tourism. Public amenities like auditorium, planetarium, centre for performing arts, Bal Nagari- kid s centre, ward centre, riverfront development, etc are proposed as part of 1. Akurdi Auditorium this Master Plan. The Planning, architectural design and 2. Planetarium execution of 10 public buildings as part of the overall masterplan 3. Balnagari is ongoing is ongoing. 4. PMPML bus depot 6.Motilal Nagar Redevelopment, Mumbai 7.Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Kurla. It is one of the largest redevelopment projects in the city initiated by MHADA. Planning addressed the current issues within the city. Series of public presentations were also made. Master Planning of 62 ha of land. Mixed-use development including commercial, residential, shelters, amenities, open spaces, etc. The terminus plan is a very interesting reversal of classical building designs the great hall, which is clearly the forecourt to the main station building, becomes the most prominent architectural feature because of its distinctive, high and long roof.

3. Name of assignment or project: Bandra Bandstand Seafront, Mumbai Year: 2001 2003 (phase 1) 2015- ongoing (phase 2) Location: Mumbai Client: Bandra West Residents` Association in association with Ms Shabana Azmi, social activist Main project features: A 1.5 km-long stone wall with rounded, mosaic coping demarcates the forecourt at the water s edge and separates the promenade from the road. The promenade meanders all along the water s edge where people can walk, relax and experience the vast beauty of the seascape. It is paved with rough-cut, natural stones in patterns that keep changing all along. A distinct, central gallery of steps takes you lower down to the water s edge, where there is space for get-togethers, art shows, music programmes and other such events. At strategic points, steps lead you further down to the sand and rock beds. A large, central garden with a wide expanse of lawns provides relief to the dense high-rises in the background. Exclusively designed furniture for seating and resting, signage and lighting, are additional facilities provided here. Waterfront Length: 1.2 km, Estimated Cost: Rs. 1.4 Cr. Positions held: Principal Architect & Planner Activities performed: Planning & Architectural design. 4. Name of assignment or project: Carter Road Seafront, Mumbai Year: 2004 2006 (phase 1) 2015- ongoing (phase 2) Location: Mumbai Client: Bandra West Residents` Association in association with Ms Shabana Azmi, social activist Main project features: The mangroves formed the central point of interest at the Carter Road seafront. Our development meanders around it. Patches of grass, planned adjacent to the mangroves, extend the lush green expanse. Like the Bandra Bandstand development, a 1.3 km-long yellow wall, with rounded mosaic coping, demarcates the forecourt. The promenade is paved with parallel lines of red Agra stone at regular intervals, weaving an interesting pattern all along it. A large central forum, with a gallery of steps leading down to the water, is an interesting feature of the development. This is a part of the larger movement in the city to reclaim public spaces and to protect Mumbai s coastline. Development at the Carter Road seafront regenerated the mangroves, hitherto abused as a dumping ground, and their lush greenery has greatly added to the beauty of the waterfront.
