Password is needed when any of the settings is browsed or changed. The cursor can be moved by pressing left/right arrow buttons and the number changed by pressing up/down arrow buttons. The password is accepted by pressing ENTER button. If the password is wrong, the controller will return to the measurement display. Image 5 Password 5. SENSOR SETTINGS In the sensor settings page the measurement and sensor settings of each channel can be changed. Number of the channel The Point text Signal type Range low limit Unit Image 6 Measurement settings Range high limit First the displayed channel (POINT) is chosen by pressing up/down buttons and select by pressing ENTER button. After that the display shows the settings of the chosen channel and the cursor moves to the first character of the point text. The cursor can be moved by pressing left/right arrow buttons and the characters changed them by pressing up/down arrow buttons. The point text is accepted by pressing ENTER button. After accepting channel ID the cursor moves to the selection of the signal type. The signal type can be chosen by pressing up/down arrow buttons and accepted by pressing ENTER button. The signal types are: UNDEF = Not defined (Channel is not connected) 0-20mA = current 0-20 ma 4-20mA = current 4-20 ma 0-1 V = voltage 0-1 V SEMIC. = Semiconductor sensor OLCT50 = EX-catalytic sensor TABLE X = According to the linearization table. Tables 1-4 can be independently defined in SETTINGS menu ->LIN. TABLES) (look at section 8).

Code no. 2071 1022 Page 6/14 SCAN20 USER S MANUAL After the signal type has been selected, the low limit of the scale and the place of the decimal point will be set. The low limit of the scale has five numbers and one point (e.g. 0000.0) (The place of the decimal point cannot be changed elsewhere). Accept the low limit of the scale by pressing ENTER button. For example: when the sensor has been defined as 4-20 ma and the measurement result, when the input is 4mA, is wanted to be 00.000, the low limit value should be 00.000. Next the high limit of the scale can be set. It is done the same way as the low limit except the place of the decimal point is defined in the value of the low limit of the scale therefore it can not be changed here. After setting the high limit of the scale, the measure unit will be set. It is done the same way as the channel ID. For example: PPM or %LEL (max. 4 characters) and accept it by pressing ENTER button. After accepting the unit, the display shows the settings of the next channel. The settings of the channel are valid only after accepting all settings of the channel by pressing ENTER button. 6. ALARM SETTINGS In alarm settings page the direction of limit activity, alarm limit, control relay, delay and hysteresis can be set. After accepting the password the alarm settings of the first alarm limit of the channel 1 are displayed. Number of the channel Direction of alarm limit activity Alarm limit Delay Image 7 Alarm settings Control relay 2 Control relay 1 Hysteresis After choosing the channel (it is done the same way as in measurement settings), the direction of alarm limit activity of the first alarm limit can be set.

SCAN20 USER S MANUAL Code no. 2071 1022 Page 7/14 Choose the direction of the alarm limit activity by pressing up/down arrow buttons: OFF = The limit is not in use HIGH = High limit LOW = Low limit S HI = High limit + Solenoid valve control (S HI/S LO function, see section 7.) S LO = Low limit + Solenoid valve control After the direction of the limit activity has been chosen, it can be accepted by pressing ENTER button. The value of the alarm limit can be changed the same way as the scale in measurement settings: choose the character by pressing left/right arrow buttons and change the character by pressing up/down arrow buttons. Accept the alarm limit value by pressing ENTER button. After accepting the alarm limit you can change the control relay, delay (in form xx.yy xx=minutes, yy=seconds) and hysteresis. All of these values can be chosen the same way that is described above. 7. OCCASION OF ALARM When the alarm limit is exceeded, a LED light in the panel and selected relay is activated. The relay and the LED light deactivate when the gas concentration is amount of hysteresis lower than the alarm limit. The relay can also be deactivated by pressing the RESET button if the relay is programmed to be resettable (see 9.2 Relay control). Notice: Because there might be more than one alarm limit that is controlling one relay, the relay does not deactivate until there is no alarm limit controlling it. The third alarm limit action: when the third alarm limit is exceeded in addition to the actions mentioned before, the buzzer is activated and information about the alarm is displayed on the screen. The buzzer and relay (if it is programmed to be resettable) can be deactivated by pressing RESET button. The LED light of the third alarm limit does not deactivate until the alarm is off. When alarm limit has been set as S HI/S LO (limit + solenoid valve control) and it is exceeded, the limit LED light and SOL. VALVE LED light is turned on and the programmed relay as R1 activates. If the relay is programmed as resettable it can be reset during the alarm otherwise it must be reset after the alarm is off. Solenoid valve action does not reset the relay automatically so it must be reset by pressing RESET button. S HI/S LO function affects only the set control relay 1 (R1, see section 6. Alarm Settings). Control relay 2, R2, is not affected by S HI/S LO function. SENSOR FAULT When SCAN 20 sees a sensor fault, the FAULT LED light turns on, the buzzer is activated and information about the alarm is displayed on the screen. The buzzer can be deactivated by pressing RESET button. The LED sign and the relay will not be deactivated until the alarm is off.
