2-Unit Quick Connect System Two Noritz Commercial water heaters installed in parallel can provide hot water to fixtures at twice the capacity as compared to when a single unit is used. The Quick Connect Cord (QC-1) is used to link two identical units together in a simple installation. This connection acts as a communication link between the two units and provides the following features: 1) Doubles the output of the system by allowing the secondary unit to fire when the primary unit reaches capacity 2) Rotates the operation of the two units evenly to prevent premature wear on one unit Quick Connect (QC-1) Isolator Kit Globe Valve Pump 2-Unit Quick Connect System Quick Connect Cord can only be used for a 2-unit Multi-System. Only one should be connected to the primary unit while the Quick Connect Cord is attached to the proper connectors labeled QUICK CONNECT CORD located inside both units. When the Quick Connect is in use, an will be required on the recirulation line to efficiently control the recirculation pump. Multi-System Application with Storage Tank A hot water storage tank can be used with the system when a specific application requires higher flow capacity with minimum pressure loss. With the proper model, the system can handle from 2 up to 24 units that would provide recovery heat to the storage tank while controlling the primary pump in the system. The time in which hot water in the storage tank reaches the required temperature depends on the amount of BTU s that is applied to the system, which is directly proportional to the number of units installed in the multi-system. Refer to the Noritz Specification Sheets that include data for BTU and flow capacity ratings to properly size for your specific application. for up to 12 or 24 Units SC-1-12(-24)M for up to 6 Units (SC-1-6M) Isolator Kit Thermostat Pump 1 Pump 2 Multi-Unit Application with Storage Tank For SC-1-6M, the System Select Connectors must be properly adjusted when the system is used with a Storage Tank or Recirculation System. Attach the clip labeled SELECTER to the Storage System plug to modify the system for optimum use with a storage tank. For SC-1-12/-24M, the System Select Connectors can be found near the dipswitches which is centrally located within the device. Unlike the SC-1-6M, the necessary connector(s) need to be detached for use with the proper system. When the units are installed with a storage tank, disconnect the connector labeled STORAGE SYSTEM.
