STCPRDB and is well known for floodplain/stormwater education materials. Fact sheets for: floodplain development, non-residential structures in the floodplain, and flood resistant design are a few of the most topical fact sheets. In total, 13 floodplain fact sheets are available on the flood proofing page of the STC website, www.stcplanning.org Endnotes: [1] Levee protected area. Incorporate flood resistance into project design. [2] Vegetated buffers should be retained along stream and wetland. [3] Located in the 500 year floodplain. [4] Project should account for historic flooding of Mill Creek and poorly drained soils on the site. [5] risks should be addressed in the site selection process. [6] Levee protected area. Incorporate flood resistance into project design. [7] plain development standards apply. Incorporate flood resistance into project design. Minimize impacts on the Meads Creek corridor (including retention of riparian vegetation and flood storage capacity). [8] Project should be designed to discourage additional flood prone development. [9] Levee protected area. Incorporate flood resistance into project design. plain development permit required. Requires coordination with NYS DEC to avoid levee impacts. [10] plain development standards apply. [11] Utilize flood resistant design and flood resistant materials to the extent possible. [12] plain development permit required.
