Thermostat Range There are various central heating designs that control your boiler s operating periods and temperatures for space heating, and / or hot water. This simply means - the time the boiler starts up and for how long - how much heat it provides for either space heating, for domestic hot water or for both. There are two parts to this control - a transmitter in your room thermostat and a receiver. They use radio frequency (wireless) communication, which means there is no additional wiring required to install them. The wall-mounted transmitter controls the timing and temperature for your heating and the boiler-mounted receiver controls the timings of your hot water. 12

Underfloor Heating Control We provide a range of room temperature controls (thermostats) to optimize the operating efficiency of your underfloor heating (UFH) system and provide the flexibility to independently control each room or heating zone. These thermostats can be either: Wireless radio-controlled 24-volt hard-wired Radio controlled thermostats are the preferred type for multi-zone installations. wwthey can be located almost anywhere in a room and need no cabling. Whether wired or wireless, the thermostats can control the UFH through a wiring centre, which has an in-built 230V/24V transformer for the connection of on/off 24V thermal actuators fitted to the respective heating loops on the manifold. We also provide thermal actuators that fit directly onto any underfloor heating manifold. They open and close an underfloor heating zone in response to a signal from the room thermostat calling for heat. Thermal actuators can also open and close the valve by hand to allow for quick and easy commissioning and servicing. 22
Heating systems tend to have a problem with overshooting, i.e. rooms continue to be heated even after the desired temperature has been reached and the valve has been closed. SALUS Thermostats solve this problem electronically and effectively using what is known as pulse width modulation (PWM system). By continuously comparing set temperature with actual temperature, the lengths of opening times for the valve actuators are regulated in such a way that the temperature is almost completely prevented from exceeding or falling below the set temperature. In this way, the required temperature setting is regulated in a precise and convenient way. To ensure that valves remain movable and ready for use even when they are unused for considerable periods - e.g. over the summer SALUS thermostats include a valve protection function (VP function). Accessories Central heating systems should be cleaned when commissioned or when a new boiler is installed within an existing system. Cleaning and flushing protects against mineral oil contamination and removes harmful flux residues and installation debris, which cause corrosion. The removal of black sludge (iron oxide) and limescale improves circulation and reduces fuel wastage and boiler noise.
