irad Wireless Controller The irad Wireless Controller is a wireless (433MHz) programmable thermostat giving high precision room temperature control. It also had a seven day programmer with up to six temperature settings per day. Each controller can control any number of irad electric radiators within a 30 metre radius. irad Wireless Controller IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION FOR irads 1. irads should only be installed by a qualified electrician in strict accordance with current IEEE Wiring Regulations and all relevant Building Regulations. 2. DO NOT use outdoors. The irad is for use as an indoor only fixed appliance and is not for portable use. 3. DO NOT use where flammable gases or liquids are stored. 4. DO NOT operate the irad with wet hands. 5. DO NOT let children play with the irad. 6. DO NOT obstruct the air circulation around the irad or allow curtains, clothes or furniture to touch or cover any part of the casing. If you wish to use the irad to dry towels, you will need to order an irad towel radiator. 7. DO NOT use the irad if the flexible mains lead gets damaged. In the unlikely event that such damage occurs, the irad should only be removed by a qualified electrician. Please contact Feature Radiators to arrange for a replacement lead to be fitted. 8. DO NOT attempt to repair an irad. There are no user serviceable parts inside the unit. Putting batteries in your irad Wireless Controller Your irad Wireless Controller is supplied with two AA alkaline batteries. (To avoid the possibility of corrosion damage, always use new batteries. A pair of good quality alkaline batteries should last at least two years.) The low battery symbol appears when the batteries need replacing. The battery symbol will begin to flash if the batteries are not replaced within two weeks. The clock must be reset after changing the batteries, but all other settings will be unaffected.

Connecting your wireless controller to your irad electric radiator If you want an irad to be remotely controlled by an irad Wireless Controller or wirelessly connected to other irads, you need to establish a wireless connection between the controller and the irads. Before starting the following procedure, locate the small grey button on the reverse of the controller. You will need to press this during the following procedure to connect your wireless controller to your irad. You will need to remove the wall plate from the back of the controller to access the grey button as pictured below. 1) Switch your irad off. 2) Switch your irad on for three seconds then switch it off again. Ensure you have your wireless controller to hand and you have access to the grey button on the reverse before commencing step 3. 3) When you switch on your irad again, it will be listening for the wireless signal from the controller. (This is shown by the LED light on the irad flashing if the LED does not flash just continue through the procedure). Whilst the light is flashing, press the grey button on the reverse of the controller. When the irad has connected to the controller, the LED light should stay on permanently. (Please note if the target temperature of the room is higher than the actual temperature of the room, the irad will receive a signal to switch on and the LED will be RED instead of GREEN) 4) You will need to repeat this process for every irad you wish to connect to the irad Wireless Controller in order to create a Heating Zone. The table below shows the status of the irad when the LED indicator light is lit up and is not flashing. LED Indicator colour RED (Full power) ORANGE (Half power) GREEN (Standby) irad status Radiator is heating up on full power. Radiator is running in economy mode as the room temperature is almost at the target temperature. Radiator is receiving power, but not heating up. Please note that once your irad is connected, it should remain permanently connected unless you put it back into Manual Mode see Resetting the irad in Manual ON/OFF Mode on page 4. Positioning your irad Wireless Controller When positioning your irad Wireless Controller, please avoid the following: 1) Draughty places near windows; 2) Places immediately adjacent to any heat source; 3) In direct sunlight; 4) Places where the controller could become easily damaged (i.e. where it could be hit by a door); or 5) Places where the controller may become wet.
