Suggested Edits Urban Planners / Environmental Planners / Health / Community Overall theme is to make it place based in Broward Shade through tree line and structure Run-off and water standards and geographic differences Place making on the streets, what makes streets inviting and safer? Take destination and connectivity into account in designing streets Consider creating an environment that encourages activities such as SRTS and elderly commuting Solar for bus or new light How to make recommendations that allow cities design and plan creatively

Suggested Edits Transportation Planners Introduction: Include components or reference FDOT 4 Access to Transit Manual and Broward County Transit Bus Guideline, specifically for bus stop layout and design. First bullet: Transit is an important component of the transportation system on City streets. Delete first sentence and keep second as is. Replace transit malls with transit hubs 6 th Bullet Transit stops should include amenities for transit users i.e. real time information, way finding, artificial and natural canopy Line 4 second paragraph second sentence (starts with every transit stop should be evaluated for transit connection and its crossing opportunities) Line 5 talks about flags signs remove not appropriate for Broward or provide recommendation for flag only on community buses that do not have on-time UHP will provide language for review

Suggested Edits Engineers Two global issues: 1. complete streets should reference land use patterns and road way elements as part of the whole package, 2. vehicular traffic vs. ped, bike, and transit therefore we are trying to look at it as one cohesive piece Design issues: 1. Speed: target and desirable speeds (85 percentile speed), suggested for legislative change for more flexibility 2. Intersections: size of the intersections, clearance time Access: Unification between guidelines: ADA, FDOT, Justice Dept., East Vs. West Guidelines Weakness of this manual is treating right-a-way as a single element rather designing in context
