16 U-Line, I-Line, Steam Table & Steam Cabinet Error Codes U-Line, I-Line, Steam Table & Steam Cabinet Error Codes Use the table below to determine common error codes and their probable causes. Components most likely to need service are shown in parentheses (e.g., MERCURY CONTACTOR, WATER SOLENOID, etc.) Flasher Error Code Problem/Description Red Any combination of error codes shown below. Multiple failures have occurred and have caused a critical situation. System cannot hold its temperature and an alternative backup plan needs to be started. Red Thermistor that is used by the display has a shorted wired or is damaged. Probe wires may have gotten sliced and shorted out or temperature probe needs to be replaced. (TEMPERATURE PROBE) Red Thermistor that is used by the display has been disconnected or broken. Probe wire may have been cut, pulled on, or temperature probe needs to be replaced. (TEMPERATURE PROBE) Red dip Error in the dip switch settings, wrong line setup, or water damage has occurred. Red drn Drain cabinet so UMC can verify water is present. If no water in cabinet, clean upper probes. If problem still persists, have service tighten probes or replace probes because water is getting behind the seal of the probe. (WATER PROBES) IF DELIMER HAS BEEN USED PREVIOUSLY Pour a cup of fresh tap water over probes to wash away delimer. Red E1F, E2F, & E3F (All elements off) Heating relay has failed to turn on or all elements have failed to turn on. Element 3 is not used in the cabinet. Turn off power and breakers and then turn them back on. Call for service immediately if this does not work. If relay sticks repeatedly, have service replace it. (SOLID STATE RELAY) ON DELFIELD UNIT, E1F & E2F FLOAT FAILURE or FLOAT WIRE ISSUE. Red ELP Water level is below lower safety probes after system filled. System has run dry. Turn on water valve. Check for an open drain valve or a major leak. If broken, do manual fill. (SOLID STATE RELAY, WATER SOLENOID) Red Er1 Mercury contactor # 1 is stuck on. Turn off power and breaker and then back on. When you close the restaurant, make sure the breakers are off. (MERCURY CONTACTOR) Red Er2 Mercury contactor # 2 is stuck on. Turn off power and breaker and then turn back on. When you close the restaurant, make sure the breakers are off. (MERCURY CONTACTOR) Red Er3 Mercury contactor # 3 is stuck on. (Table Only) Turn off power and breaker and then turn back on. 17 U-Line, I-Line, Steam Table & Steam Cabinet Error Codes Flasher Error Code Problem/Description Red Red/ Yellow Er1, Er2, & Er3, (All elements on) LPO Heating relay is stuck on or all elements are stuck on. Element 3 is not used in the cabinet. Turn off power and breaker and then back on. This could dislodge the relay. When you close the restaurant, make sure the breakers are off. If relay sticks repeatedly, you should have service replace it. (SOLID STATE RELAY, HEATING ELEMENTS) Lower safety probe is dirty or open. Clean probes with wire brush. There is a buildup of material on lower probes. Red OVF Overflow probe has failed to verify the presence of water with other sensors. Check to see if water is in the system. If no water is present, clean overflow probes. If water is over the lower probes, clean lower and upper probes. Fill unit with water that is above 105 F to try a warm jump-start. (SOLID STATE RELAY, WATER SOLENOID) Red Sdn System has shut down because of too many errors or danger to line. Try to fix other errors first and then fill system with water above 110 F and system may start up. Red Tlo Water temperature is below critical after system has warmed up. Close drain valve. Close water bypass valve. (Bad water solenoid or too many elements are out). (WATER SOLENOID, TEMPERATURE PROBE, if boiling) Red UPC In the cabinet, the upper probes are not changing their value. Clean the upper probes and restart the system. Replace upper probes. (WATER PROBES) Yellow ACE The air curtain element is not functioning (Cabinet Only). Turn off power and breaker and then turn back on. Have service replace the air curtain element. (AIR CURTAIN ELEMENT) Yellow CAL Water level probes are out of calibration / low tds water / film over probes. System is continuing to work outside of optimum trigger ranges. Yellow drf Dry heat element is stuck off (Cabinet Only). Turn off power and breaker and then turn back on. Replace the dry heat element. (DRY HEAT ELEMENT, SOLID STATE RELAY, MERCURY CONTACTOR) Yellow dro Dry heat relay is stuck on (Cabinet Only). Turn off power and breaker and then turn back on. Yellow UPS Upper level probe is dirty or shorted. Remove metal obstruction from the upper probes or clean probes with wire brush. Refill unit with new water. Yellow WF Water relay is stuck off. Turn on water valve at the filter. You could have a small leak that is letting air in. None F-S Cheese melter filter sensor is shorted (Table Only). Check the cheese melter sensor for metal objects pushing against it and remove any. None FTO/TFO Filter temperature sensor is open or disconnected (Table Only). Check for cut wires to cheese melter sensor or replace temperature probe. (FILTER SENSOR TEMPERATURE PROBE) None FTS/TFS Filter temperature sensor is shorted (Table Only).
