2 Founder: John C. Cleaver John C. Cleaver developed the first package boiler in 1931, complete with its own burner & controls. It was portable and designed for heating asphalt for the paving of roads to support the growing population of automobiles. In 1932 a Cleaver boiler was brought in as a temporary replacement for a old coal fired unit that failed. It worked so well the wheels were removed and the boiler became permanent. This was Mr. Cleaver s visionary start; since then, he has been succeeded by generations of innovators making Cleaver-Brooks the most respectable name in the industry.

7 High Voltage Submersion Heater & Optional Steam Injector Preheats Water. Hot water is Pumped from the Bottom of the vessel, into the High Voltage Electrodes Ground (O Volts) The Resistive Property of the Water Creates Steam as the Water Conducts Current from the Electrodes through Neutral. The Remaining Water becomes Energized Traveling Down the Electrode Box and Draining Upon Leaving the Electrode Box the Water has Another Opportunity to Flash to Steam as it Flows Across the Counter Electrode back to the Bottom

8 High Voltage Boiler Capacity Modulated with Control Sleeve Ground (O Volts) Backpressure Control Valve Passes the Steam into the System and Protects the Boiler from Pressure Loss Conductivity is Constantly Monitored and Controlled by an automated Blow-Down Valve A Chemical Pump can be Integrated into the system to Increase Conductivity when Required

9 The addition of the control sleeve improved boiler control with a constant pressure in the header piping so the jets are identically shaped from 0-100%. The improved design allows operation up to 25KV and conductivity up to 3500 reducing the blow-down.

14 The CEJS Electrode Boilers are available up to 25,000 V. Operating at the higher voltage can potentially eliminate the need for a step-down transformer and greatly reduce the customer s installation costs.
