4 Science Laboratory Furniture Cooper Cabinet Systems has been supplying school dealers and their customers with the highest quality science, library and educational furniture for over 40 years. Instructors Stations Perimeter Peninsular Tables Stations options are gas, water, electric, bar assemblies and epoxy or chemical resistant laminate tops. Cabinets are available in a number of door / drawer configurations. (page 8) Instructors stations can be ordered in two lengths and either left hand or right hand configurations. Standard is a 1 epoxy top, sink, fittings and Greenlaw arm assembly. Side desk assemblies are also available. (page 9) Island Work Stations Island work stations are available in a number of student configurations. 17 Our standard fume hood is the most economical totally efficient fume removal hood. It has a corrosion resistant finished steel exterior, lined entirely with chemical resistant non-asbestos. The combination pro vides a durable unit, capable of long term laboratory use. The basic design incorporates a flush interior for tranquil air flow. It permits use of the maximum front opening and work area. Thin wall design provides a definite advantage in utilizing the laboratory space. An air foil fascia with a 45 degree angle frames the entire front opening to substantially reduce the venacontracta effect of the entering airflow Bottom horizontal foil is positioned to direct a current of air at the countertop level to purge heavy fumes or spillage. The induced air chamber replaces a standard front panel. A separate blower and duct are required for air supply. Up to 70% of the air exhausted by the hood system can be obtained from outside the laboratory, resulting in a large savings in heating or cooling, since less ambient room air is exhausted by the system. 23 Top Material Options Countertop Worksurfaces 1. LAMINATE - a high pressure plastic laminate top bonded to a 45# density high grade particle board core and the underside laminated with phenolic backer sheet. Thickness is 1 overall with black vinyl bullnosed edges. Self edge is available upon request. 2. CHEM SURF - a high pressure plastic laminate specially formulated to have extremely high chemical resistance. This material can be post formed for applications where a curved front edge or coved backsplash joint is desired. Thickness is 1 overall with black vinyl bullnosed edges. Self edge is available upon request. 3. EPOXY RESIN - molded epoxy resins, upgraded with specifically selected curing resins and inert fillers to produce a thermosetting material. Specially designed molds form this thoroughly mixed material into laboratory work surfaces, sinks, drainboards, fume hood tops and other work surfaces. The filled molds are then cured for several hours at a high temperature to develop the optimum properties of chemical and physical resistance required for heavy duty use in the laboratory. Tops and integrally molded curbs are a uniform thickness and do not depend upon surface coatings to provide resistance to chemical and/or physical abuse. EPOXY RESIN tops are supplied in a non-glare black finish and are extremely resistant to practically all types of chemicals. Wood Finish Options All exposed, semi-exposed and concealed cabinet surfaces shall receive a high quality stain, which is then followed by two successive coats of Chem-veer chemical resistant vinyl sealer. Finally, a finishing top coat of clear, Chem-veer chemical resistant catalyzed conversion varnish is applied, providing a long lasting, chemical resistant finish. Cooper Cabinet Systems will repair or replace, at our option, any product which fails within this (5) five year period. This warranty is not valid for defects attributed to normal wear, misapplication, abnormal use, misuse, damage, modification, or buyer s failure to properly maintain the product.
