3 Total Sense Generators Generators The generator, is the heart of a home spa system. The Total Sense Generator (TSG) comes built in with InstaMist and SteadySteam to enhance the steam bathing experience all while being very water efficient. The Steam Generator fits almost anywhere. The compact design of the Steamist steam generator means it can be easily installed in a vanity, a closet, an insulated attic or basement. SteadySteam quietly and continuously modulates steam output by using a three-stage heating system, which automatically adjusts the amount of steam for the user and avoids the sudden stops and starts of steam of standard generators. InstaMist is a selectable feature which provides quickresponse steam in under one minute, to get you into your steam bath quickly. Using your steam room for 30 minutes uses less than one gallon of water.

4 Total Sense Controls 550 TouchScreen Controls If the Total Sense Generator is the heart of the system, the Digital Control is the brains. The 550 allows you to control the complete Total Sense system, including steam, shower, music, light, aroma therapy, and pre-program two user profiles. The control is very easy to use and gives you complete control at the tip of your finger. Dual-Sensor Technology: With many master baths now using a wide variety of wall materials (granite, travertine, marble, ceramic tile), it has become increasingly difficult to create an accurate temperature in a steam room. The 550 control is able to do this because it has two temperature sensors. One is on the front of the control, measuring the temperature in the steam room, and a second sensor on the back side of the control, measuring wall temperature. Tap & Go Technology: The control was designed so the user can get to any desired function within just two to three taps of the control very similar to the function of a smartphone. mysteamist App: mysteamist is a free, downloadable app for iphone or Android mobile devices that provides the user remote control of the Total Sense system from anywhere within the home WiFi network.

6 Total Sense Total Sense Spa Options ShowerSense: ShowerSense lets you select up to three different shower outlets using the 550 or 450 Digital Control that operates your steam system. This allows you to get rid of the conventional shower valve and diverters that most custom shower are forced to use. This minimalist design has a very clean look. In addition, you will be able to adjust the temperature of water and the flow rate. The unit is fully CalGreen-compliant and also has a convenient pause feature to save even more water. Note that ShowerSense can also be without a steam generator as part of the system (but still requires 550 or 450 control). AromaSense: Enjoy delicate fragrances that take you away and revive your very being. AromaSense allows you to add one or two distinct fragrant essential oils directly into the steam shower. Options are Restore, Renew, Relax or Energize for your pleasure and Respiratory to soothe your air passages. AudioSense: AudioSense lets you enjoy your favorite music from your smartphone, ipad or any other Bluetooth-enabled music player up to 30 feet away. You can even stream Spotify or Pandora while enjoying your shower or steam bath. ChromaSense: Set the mood in your steambath or shower with the ChromaSense option. Adjust your attitude and visual senses, to take advantage of the proven benefits of chromatherapy. The ChromaSense system will allow you to choose between seven different LED color options including white and also you can control the intensity of the light to create the perfect environment.

7 Digital Shower System Steamist's Digital Shower System As you just learned, ShowerSense can be included as part of the Total Sense steam shower design but it can also be installed without steam as a just a shower system. ShowerSense as a stand-alone system is referred to as Steamist's Digital Shower System and the control model numbers are slightly different. The ShowerSense digital shower valve can supply up to three shower functions and can be controlled with the 550 or 450 control. The system is CalGreen-compliant because it only allows one shower function to run at a time. When ordering the control as part of a steam & spa options package, use the control numbers 550 or 450 (depending on the model you want) When ordering for a shower-only system, use control numbers SH-550 or SH-450 (depending on the model you want)

8 SMP Collection Generators & Controls When steam is what you want, but budgets are a concern, the SMP steam system is a wonderful option. You will get all the steam you need at a value price. The 250 Digital Control allows you to set the time and temperature of your steam room.

9 Commercial System Generators HC Series Commercial Steam Generators are specifically designed for heavy-duty, round-theclock operation. They work well at health clubs, resorts and spas. They are totally automated and virtually maintenance-free when installed with the appropriate controls and optional equipment, purchased separately.

10 Sauna Sauna A sauna room uses dry heat to provide health and wellness benefits very similar to those provided by the wet heat of steambathing: relaxing, restoring and renewing. Sauna average temperatures range between ºF with only 10-15% humidity. A sauna may be a preferred option in new construction or major remodeling as a separate sauna room needs to be constructed. Steamist offers a complete line of sauna heaters, controls and accessories, plus prefab or precut Western Red Cedar sauna rooms ranging from 4 x 5 to 8 x 10.

11 Steam Room Design How to Build and Design a Steam Room Here are a few key things to discuss when designing your steam room: How big is the room: To truly enjoy a steam shower the floor space of the shower should be a least 3 feet X 5 feet or larger. How high is the ceiling: Steam heats the room from the ceiling down to the floor, so the optimum height for the steam room is 8 feet. If you choose to go higher the generator has to be oversized and it takes extra time to heat up the room. Proper size generator: Once you know the height, width and length of the shower, you can go to the sizing guide at to specify the correct size generator. Sitting bench: You really need a bench! You can either build an integral bench into the steam room or you can purchase a fold down seat from Steamist. Placement of digital control: Always place the digital control near the bench so that you can make adjustments to your steam room while you are actively enjoying the room. Placement of steam head: Always place the steam head about 14 to 18 inches off of the floor and as far away from the sitting bench as possible. Also, do not place the steam head next to the door. Ceiling: You will need to slope the ceiling so water droplets do not drip onto your head; also the ceiling has to be finished with a waterproof material. Placement of generator: The generator should be in a serviceable space. An adjacent room, vanity, or insulated attic work well. If mounting in an attic space, the attic space must be well insulated so the generator is not exposed to high temperatures.
