4 WARNING: Before using the machines, carefully read and examine user manual. 1.PREAMBLE This user manual includes information and instructions that shall help you carry out commissioning, maintenance, adjustment and usage conditions safely and efficiently for EURO ROTOR A.S. product AIR COMPRESSOR MACHINES of EURO ROTOR brand. Before using the machines, carefully read and examine user manual. All terms in user manual are explained clearly and in an understandable way. But in case there are points you do not understand; do not just skip them and obtain information about them from your technical chief or technical responsible. Never forget that user manual shall be examined and understood well for safe, convenient, efficient and active usage of machines. For detailed examination and to follow details about machine usage, please follow related subject titles in order. Read the information and instructions in this manual for safe and efficient usage carefully and carry out necessary applications correctly, in the correct order. Please definitely examine all parts to use your machines safely, efficiently and in accordance with specifications, and to carry out necessary settings and maintenance. 1.1 PRESERVATION OF MANUAL This manual shall be kept with machine during work life of machine. A copy of manual shall be preserved in Office in such a way that related people can reach it. In case manual is lost, ask for a new copy by stating related details about machine model, serial no, production year and sales invoice information to producing company. In case machine is sold to third parties as second hand, deliver all copies of manual to machine s new owner. Inform company that produced the machine about the name and address of new buyer who bought the machine. 1.2 TESTS BEFORE LOADING It is checked before loading that all machine parts are correctly assembled and moving parts are working suitably, by operating the machine at our factory for Min. 3 hours. 4 / 36

5 WARNING: You must definitely follow these instructions. 2. DEFINITIONS OF USED WARNING AND SAFETY LABELS It states that during machine operation, in case of any electrical or mechanical danger, Emergency Stop button shall be pressed. This label is just near Emergency Stop button and expresses for what the button stands. It is used to protect user and maintenance personnel from dangers arising out of contact during machine operation. This label states that there is a mechanic, electrical and thermal risk at the place it is used. Avoid hand contact at places you see this label. It is used to protect user and maintenance personnel from dangers that arise from contact at parts and sections of machine bearing electrical risk during machine operation or standby state. This label states that there is an electrical risk at the place it is used. Avoid contact with your hand or a conductive material at places you see this label without cutting electricity feed of machine and using an insulating protector. Prevent contact, leakage of water, oil or similar liquids to such sections, even if it is for cleaning purposes. Make sure such areas are always isolated. Do not disable machine s cover, protection and isolation connections. 5 / 36

6 WARNING: You must definitely follow these instructions. It is used to inform and warn user and maintenance personnel about hot and burning surfaces on machine, at sections bearing such a risk. Skin burn and similar risks because of contact are possible at areas where this label exists. It is used on areas on machine bearing risks which require being careful. When approaching to areas you see these labels, maximum attention is required for intervention. Otherwise unexpected risks may occur. 6 / 36

7 WARNING: You must definitely follow these instructions. SAFETY FIRST 3. IMPORTANT SAFETY RULES ON USAGE, MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR 1. Use EURO ROTOR air containers, equipments and EURO ROTOR original spare parts produced according to TSE 1613 norm. 2. If compressor will work in parallel with another compressor or connected to same pressured air system, do not use check valve at compressor air exit. 3. Use materials with technical properties that comply with used pressure regarding pressured air, pipes and hoses. 4. Do not use peeling, deteriorated, decayed, broken hoses. Store hoses duly away from direct sunlight and heat sources. BURST OF A HOSE MAY HARM A HUMAN. 5. Attach suitable connections on hose tips. 6. If pressured air is used to clean tools and parts, this process shall be carried out very carefully. Make sure that dust on parts that are being cleaned does not come towards you, another person or other machines. Use goggles for this process. 7. While using direct air from hose or installation, there shall definitely be no foreign matter inside the hose. Hose tip shall be held tightly and safely. Released hose tip MAY HIT LEFT AND RIGHT DIRECTIONS LIKE A WHIP AND BE DANGEROUS. Open air exit valve clearly and check whether air will freely exit from hose or not. A HOSE THAT IS CLOGGED OR THAT INCLUDES PARTS INSIDE BECOMES AN AIR RIFLE. 8. Do not hold compressed air on your skin. Do not hold tip of hose towards any person. Do not clean dust on you with compressed air. 9. Do not run a pressurized air system or tool at a pressure more than it is designed for. 10. Before removing hose or air line, completely empty pressure of compressor in line. 11. Ends of electricity cables shall not be open. 12. Have electricity connection done by an authorized electrician. 13. Have pressure tests of air containers every year. 14. Producing company is not responsible from damages and life losses occuring as the result of usage outside of instructions. 7 / 36

8 WARNING: You must definitely follow these instructions. 4. POINTS TO CONSIDER ON FIRST OPERATION 1. When energy is provided to compressor, control whether grounding, neutral and phases (R-S-T) are correctly connected. 2. Check environment temperature. 3. Check oil amount via level indicator. All processes of first start-up shall be carried out by EURO ROTOR authorized technical service personnel. Ask for a service leaf showing this process was carried out together. In case such procedures are not carried out by EURO ROTOR authorized technical service personnel, compressor will be out of guarantee s scope. 4.1 POINTS TO CONSIDER DURING OPERATION 1. Covers shall stay closed. 2. No water, oil shall be poured on compressor, no foreign matter shall be placed on it. 3. Do not touch inside of compressor with your hand, do not tinker with it, do not repair in any way. 4.2 STOPPING To stop compressor completely, wait for compressor to toggle idle and press EMERGENCY STOP button. Only during emergencies when compressor is loaded, stop by pressing the EMERGENCY STOP button.. 8 / 36

9 WARNING: Please read these warnings absolutely. 5.GENERAL WARNINGS Operators shall carefully read and examine the user manual before using the machines. All terms in user manual are explained clearly and in an understandable way. User manual shall be examined and understood well for safe, convenient, efficient and active usage of machines. Machines are produced with an easy-to-use, simple and understandable design to carry out their operation in the facility. Control panel and indicators of machines are produced with an understandable, simple design that does not create complexity. But during usage and machine life, you must absolutely follow instructions and warnings on labels and indicators on machines and in this user manual. You can use the User Manual for assembly, operation, maintenance and any kind of adjustment of the machines. In case machines are operated and maintained with an application other than those stated in the user manual; producer shall not be responsible from any possible damage or harmful event. 9 / 36

10 WARNING: You must definitely follow these instructions. 5.1 COMMISSIONING To take machines into operation; first assembly, maintenance, repair and adjustment, disassembly shall be carried out by authorized personnel. Interventions of people other than authorized personnel will reduce machine safety. Interventions on machine electricity connections and electrical system shall be carried out by competent technicians expert in their subjects. For each machine; there are special installation and commissioning methods and other than those methods; there are very special adjustments, installation and commissioning methods so that all facility works in synchronization. This adjustment, installation and commissioning information is explained in details under related subject titles. After machine is installed on its place and commissioning is carried out by producing company, in case you need such information; follow information and instructions in this user manual. For information and technical support other than these instructions and information, absolutely contact producing company. Other than these applications; producer shall not be responsible from damages and harmful events that may arise because of applications which are not stated by producer, for which no information and instruction is given, no authorization is provided, no technical support is provided and which are not approved by the producer. 10 / 36

11 WARNING: You must definitely follow these instructions. 5.2 BASIC SAFETY RULES If there are warning signs, an instruction or rules required by private workplace in the environment you work; follow these rules absolutely. Please follow work and worker safety basic rules definitely, even if they are not stated as a condition by your workplace management. Start working by suitably equipping your personal protective equipment such as safety helmet, glove, armored boot, protective work clothing, protective goggles and mask which are necessary for your protection. Provide work and worker safety by applying to your immediate chief for every kind of situation you do not know or you are not sure. Even if your knowledge and experience is enough, if you are not authorized in the related subject; do not interfere with subjects such as installation, first assembly, commissioning, adjustment, operation, controlling, tracking and following for any machine or machine group or equipment in the facility. 12 WARNING: You must definitely follow these instructions. 5.3 SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR MACHINES IMPORTANT NOTE: Please show the best effort to understand the safety instructions and to take necessary precautions. When you examine the safety principles, also examine the product introduction pictures. Parts in the machines that carry pressurized air are made of materials that show resistance to internal and external forces. They do not pose threat in normal usage, but impacts on pipe, hose and tanks that carry air during assembly, maintenance and adjustment reduce the safety of machine. Do not apply high-pressure and destructive impacts on these parts with your tools and equipments. All parts of machines have only one correct connecting property. Do not change suitable connection types during machine maintenance, adjustment and assembly. During interventions on connection elements, carry out interventions in compliance with machine s connection types and working principle. Structure and construction of machines are designed in such a way to prevent direct and indirect contact with parts that carry electricity. Do not touch electricity installation and parts. Do not try to make a change or adjustment in electricity installation of machines. Do not remove cover of electricity panel. Do not leave it open. All electrical faults and adjustments shall be carried out by authorized electricity technicians. Electrical connection points are determined with cable coding method for suitable connection types. For electrical maintenance and adjustments, interventions in compliance with machine electricity schema, cable coding system and working principle shall be carried out. Different applications may create electrical risks. Parts and equipments in compliance with efficiency and safety principles are selected during design and production stages of machines. In case a need occurs to change faulty parts during machine maintenance, adjustment and assembly; replace the parts to be changed with the new ones of original parts on the machine. Using different parts and equipments will reduce safety of machines. Noise level caused by the operation of machines does not reduce safe usage of machines and does not cause any dangerous situation. Vibration emission on the air caused by operation of machines, does not reduce device safety and does not create any other dangerous situation. 12 / 36

13 WARNING: You must definitely follow these instructions. Working frequency of machines are not harmful in terms of human health and environment interaction, and does not emit low, high frequency, radio frequency and micro wave. Machines are designed in such a way to reduce risks and dangers that can occur because of human fault to minimum level. In possible situations, do not intervene in machines with methods that do not comply with human logic, and do not use machines for things other than their production purposes. Safe connections points are created to fix machines at working area to prevent wind, gravity, vibration and similar other external effects. Use these connections points during assembly and to fix the machine. Safe holding connection points are made for carriage, on machines. Use crane and similar lifting equipments to transport the machine. Use lifting strap, rope and connection apparatuses in compliance with machine weight and construction structure to select connection apparatuses. For disintegration that may occur during operation; effects that may cause mechanical and electrical risks are imprisoned inside machine construction structure and their pouring to outside of machine cabin is prevented. Environment and user is isolated from such events with risk. Do not remove machine cover and protectors. Removing these protectors and covers may cause you to become exposed to unexpected risks. In dangerous situations that may occur when machines are working, press Emergency Stop Button to stop the machines. Emergency Stop Button shall cut machines current safety and adjustment device, electric circuit and control mechanism and make them inoperative. After dangerous situation is removed and risks are eliminated, you can deactivate Emergency Stop Button. After deactivating Emergency Stop Button, electric circuit and control mechanism will be activated. For maintenance, repair and adjustment of machines, absolutely follow instructions and information provided in this manual under related titles. Make sure your intervention is in scope of your authorization and knowledge. 13 / 36

14 WARNING: You must definitely follow these instructions. In conformity with machine structure and functions; display unit screens and control panels are made. In case of normal operation, waiting and failure situation of machines; make the necessary intervention from control panel in accordance with directives and instructions on this display unit screen. Make sure your intervention is in scope of your authorization and knowledge. Electric panels, electric circuits and electrical equipments of machines can be suitable for intervention of authorized and at the same time informed personnel. Design and production is based on logic that you do not need to contact and to examine these areas. Safety and protection precautions in these areas shall be valid in case you do not touch, examine or make adjustment on these areas. If you directly or indirectly contact these areas or intervene, it will cause an absolute electrical danger. However it may be; do not contact electric cables, electric panels, electrical device and equipments, installations and equipments on which you have no information. Make sure you are adequately isolated and far from these areas. To carry out certain functions in machines and create a safety and precaution mechanism; there is a safety and adjustment device consisting of sensor, photocell, switch, button, contactor and similar equipments. Do not deactivate this safety and adjustment devices, for whatever reason it might be. In case of failure, replace it definitely with a new original equivalent. Chain, gear, and similar drive and conveyance groups of machines are isolated from environment by being imprisoned inside construction structure with fixed protectors against mechanical risks (crushing, cutting, jamming, capturing, hooking, shearing etc.). Do not open covers and protectors in these areas when machines are working; if they are open absolutely close them before working. Even if machines are not working, show maximum caution when intervening and contacting these areas, machines being non-operational does not prevent occurrence of mechanical risks. Stay away from machines hot surfaces and hot places (tunnel resistances, bonding unit resistances and all tunnel line). Do not get close to these areas, do not contact directly or indirectly. Even if the machines are not working, carry out the necessary intervention only after being sure that these areas are at suitable temperature for contact. 14 / 36

15 WARNING: You must definitely follow these instructions. On all of the machines there are warning labels for subjects which are not mentioned in this manual or which are mentioned but need warning again. If there is a stated risk at areas you see these warning labels, avoid getting close to such areas and avoid contact. Follow instructions stated by the labels definitely. If labels become illegible and incomprehensible in time, definitely replace them with new ones. Explanation of warning labels used on machines and instructions they mean are explained clearly under title of Definition of Used Warning Labels in this user manual. WARNING: In case of electricity cut and failure, it is designed to evacuate pressurised air remaining inside of compressor to atmosphere safely, according to compressor working principle. EURO ROTOR cannot be held responsible for pecuniary and non-pecuniary losses occuring as the result of materials used as the result of intervention of people other than authorized service personnel. 15 / 36

22 10. CONTROLLER INCTRUCTIONS Start Buton Stop Buton On Load Off Load & Settings buton. Navigation on the display and decrease the value at the settings mode. During electricity cuts, if your machine has VARIABLE SPEED DRIVE make sure inverter unit is fully disharged. Otherwise, you can be exposed to ELECTRICITY in large amounts that is stored in INVERTOR which is connected to machine. 22 / 36

23 11. PERIODIC MAENTENANCE SCHEDULE Periodic maintenance should be done at least every 6 months. Maintenance time is calculated by the Controller Program, depending on operating conditions. Controller provides information to the user when maintenance time. 23 / 36

TRANSPORTATION, LIFTING, STORING AND DELIVERY CONTROLS OF THE MACHINE Compressors shall be carried in such a way to avoid impact and damages during transportation vertically, with forklift, hydraulic vehicle from below or with special mechanism from above. They shall never be hanged from above, pushed from side covers, rear and front panels. They shall be carried with palette. Transportation of machine shall be carried out by authorized carrier companies and trained personnel whose competence is accepted by regarding laws and regulations related with machine weight and total weight of machine with package. Shipped product is transported under responsibility of carrier. EURO ROTOR cannot be held responsible for losses occurring because of possible accidents, damages on the way and late delivery. 13. CONTROLS TO BE DONE WHEN RECEIVING THE MACHINE When machine is received, verify exactness by comparing invoice and waybill information with delivered machine. Control general condition and parts of the machine. Immediately notify EURO ROTOR about losses and damages that may occur on machine TRANSPORTATION WITH FORKLIFT and HYDRAULIC VEHICLE When carrying the compressor with forklift or hydraulic vehicle, enter carriage feet in the interspaces of palette under compressor. Use the places reserved for the forklift feet. Do not put stress on bonnet TRANSPORTATION WITH SPECIAL MECHANISM BY HANGING FROM ABOVE When carrying compressor with special mechanism by hanging from above, insert profiles into bottom interspaces of palette-from places where forklift feet enter- under compressor. When lifting the compressor ensure that top profile does not touch compressor s top and ropes do not rub against the sides PLACEMENT 1. Compressor shall be placed into a suitable room to work without problems. 2. Keep compressor away from heat dissipating machines and direct sunlight (Such as boiler room, generator room) 3. Suitable ventilation shall be provided in such a way to ensure that compressor room temperature does not increase. Intake air shall be clean without dust and chemical material. (To purify compressor suction air from dust and chemical material, if necessary, attach a filter with suitable size and properties at air suction place of room.) 4. Compressor shall be placed on a flat surface, feet shall be positioned on ground correctly and it shall not be mounted on the ground, compressor shall be placed on a concrete base on the ground. (Base height shall prevent effects of water that may come from the ground. Ground deformity shall be at max. ±2º angle.) 5. If compressor will be used as a package unit with dryer, tank and filter system, see sample installation schema. 24 / 36

25 13.4 SYSTEM CONNECTION 1. Compressor electricity connection shall be carried out in accordance with instructions definitely after suitable grounding is carried out. Neutral connection is not grounding. (Grounding is obligatory according to 1475 numbered business law s 74. article.) In case grounding is not made, compressor may burn because of static electricity load. 2. Fix energy lines on the wall, prevent their free movement on the ground and becoming a danger. 3. Control whether electricity cables and connection shoes are tightly fixed to their places. 4. Put suitable circuit breaker and delay action fuse on energy line. 5. There shall be no extension on energy line. 6. Input voltage measured during compressor operation shall be between 380±19V range. 7. As cable type, multi-core TTR cable shall be used. 8. If compressor will not be working for a long time, keep it away from humid environments STORAGE If machine will not be used immediately after being received, it shall be stored suitably in such a way to prevent being affected by bad environmental conditions stated below. a) Wet ground b) Water c) Environment temperature above 40 0 C d) Pushing carelessly Make sure machine stands on its own feet Do not turn machine upside down Do not leave machine inclined or on its lateral sides. 25 / 36

29 15.THINGS TO BE CARRIED OUT BY USERS 1- Controlling electric connections; controlling whether electric connections are loose when switch is closed. 2- Air circuit problems; controlling air leakage, controlling pneumatic circuit elements. 3- Protection from outer factors; compressor shall be kept away from contaminated environments, if necessary a separate compressor room shall be prepared for the compressor. 4- Thermic, fuse, voltage control. 5- Cooler cleaning; cooler shall be cleaned with pressured air once a week from interior to outside. 6- Oil return line cleaning; cleaning filter at oil return check-valve. 7- Controlling belt tension, belt tension shall be controlled once a week. 8- Making pressure adjustment. 9- Cleaning air filter; air filter shall be removed once a week and cleaned from interior to outside by applying air.
